In a distant past, the world was full of wars and of social injustice. Death under the rule of the strongest and of the established was common. And many people were living in fear and unknowing if they could still live the next day.
Among them were perhaps the most unfortunate. Experiments for the good of the strong and noble's benefits were rampant in this age. Plenty of young and strong young adults and children had fallen to be their victims.
I was already lucky if the one who got them was the generous kind. They get at least three meals a day and they get decent clothing appropriate for the changing season and all. It could be said that they lived better than most if they did encounter a generous tormentor.
