Despite the plans of having a nice party at the end of the semester, fate did not allow them to do so. Things that were sown from generations before have started to blow in succession that the Military took them away earlier than scheduled.
The one who made a preemptive escape for them was not Aljur's people. They were from the man's superior whom Leila has some exchanges with. A rigid man who is as cunning as a snake.
In truth Leila was not surprised at the turn of events. Aljur, despite his notorious name, is not almighty. There are plenty of things he is lacking and unable to do. Perhaps if he took his family's seat he could be more powerful than most of the people in this country. But too bad he has long forsaken that kind of covetous position, opting to stand opposite of them.
