'How are you feeling?' She asked me as we walked in the corridor towards her cabin.
I was walking being beside her in her left. I was here to drop her to work. Just because, I was quite thankful to her. She had cured me and there was nothing I could pay her with.
I took a deep breath with this thought, my hands were in my pockets. I looked at her and smiled,
'You saved my life, Lisa.' I finally said with a small voice.
She looked at me and her eyes smiled along with her lips.
'You know it's- It's okay to share things sometimes. So, don't hide anything from now on, at least from me.' She politely said to me.
And I looked at her with the same affection in my eyes and a smile stuck on my lips. Seeing me being not enough serious she said,
'Understood?' In a bossy voice widening her eyes.
She looked quite whenever she widened her eyes. Her oval-shaped face turns to be cuter when she frowns. I looked at her and chuckled all of a sudden. I wasn't able to stop myself from laughing until she started hitting me on the shoulder. After that day when she punched my nose, I knew that her strength was enough to harm me. And as she started punching me one after another on my right shoulder I felt a bit of pain.
'Ow! Ow! Stop it!' I said
'Why can't you ever be serious?' She said and looked at me helplessly.
I nodded and smiled at her. Then I saw Ray coming towards us. He wasn't looking up he was looking at a file. He was wearing his usual doctor's coat and his specs were laying on his nose bridge. I looked at him and then at Lisa whose eyes got widened and she stopped breathing all of a sudden. I looked at her and took out my hands from my pockets. I cupped her face and said,
'I'll get going. Enjoy your time with Ray.' I gave her a wink and she started blushing.
I left waving a hand towards her, she waved back a bit but was still blushing. I simply went out of the hospital with a smile still plastered on my face. I came out and saw a girl in the pharmacy just in front of Lisa's hospital.
I went near cause she seemed familiar to me. She took some medicines and put them in her handbag and said.
'Thanks a lot.'
As soon as she said I recognized her voice. I went to her. She turned towards her left and started walking on the pedestrian path. She had taken only two steps when I said,
'Amanda Wilkinson?'
As soon as I said she turned around gently and said,
'Yes?' But as soon as she saw me her eyes bugged out and she froze for a while. I walked towards her and she started running.
I tried to catch her but she ran and a black car stopped and dragged her in.
I stopped in the middle keeping both my had in my knees and cursing myself underneath. As I clearly remembered she went out of the city with her family, that was her reason to leave the job. Then what was she doing here I thought. I went to the medical shop and asked the shopkeeper about Amanda's purchase to find a lead.
The shopkeeper was an old aged man and so he had many questions to ask.
'Why are you asking? I'm not here to reveal anyone's personal information. So, go away!' He was hard to deal with and I didn't have much time left. I needed to go to work too on time.
'It's important, please understand!' I said.
'Young man, go away. I'm not going to tell anything about her.'
I didn't know how to request anyone cause I never did such a thing in my life.
I requested only two people in my whole life until now and they were, Lisa and Sarah. They both loved it when I used to request and so, they never used to accept my words if I didn't request them.
I furrowed my eyebrows and my eyes showed frustration. I became restless.
'Sir please it's important, that girl is a con girl.' I pleaded once again.
'Didn't you look at how she ran away when I called her name? Please believe me she is a con girl.'
But that man looked quite persistent, he shook his head and I sighed in frustration to simply walk away.
'She purchased drugs.' He said as I walked some steps away.
I came back to him and asked curiously about what kind of drugs.
'The drugs she took were of high dosage and are usually used to cure cancer.' He said.
'Cancer?' I furrowed my brows.
'Anything else young man?' He asked further.
I shook my head and thanked him by shaking his hand with all my power. I ran and stopped a taxi to move further towards my house. I knew with whom I have to team up to find Amanda's reason being here...
****
She was sitting in the hall as she was told to wait for a moment. Entering from the door you could see a sliding door made up of glass on the opposite side of the door in the center of the room was a coffee table and some sofas surrounding it making a circle. The room didn't have many things but a bookshelf in the corner on the right side. A wooden bookshelf that looked quite old. It had many books related to literature but in this house no one like literature, not even Johnathan who was on a business trip himself. Then who read all those books? No one knew. It was Johnathan's wish to keep that bookshelf in their house. No one knew who it belonged to.
She sat there and suddenly my phone rung. It was from Amanda and so, she picked it up.
'Ma'am.' She said panting.
'I met Samuel today.' She said
'Samuel?' Carla asked can't remember who it was.
'The guy who works as an employee in the ambition and is also a friend of Mr. Niall.'
Carla's face went pale, she didn't know how that man was but, it dangerous now that he had seen her.
'What you did then?' Carla asked for further information.
'I ran away from him and your people gave me a lift to my house.' She said.
Carla had kept some people to spy on Amanda cause she didn't trust her much. Carla sighed in relief and again reminded Amanda about what she had to do tomorrow.
As soon as she kept her phone someone called her name from behind.
'Carla?' she froze at a place, she wasn't able to move.
'With whom were you talking?' The person asked.
Carla turned around and saw Flora standing. She had blank expressions on her face. The whole Carter family had a particular expression which Carla hated and that was their blank expression. Because that expression always brought some bad luck with it.
Carla gulped a lump and Flora bent down a bit towards her,
'Are you trying to ruin my son's life perhaps?' She asked, her gaze sending chills all over to Carla
Carla shook my head lightly, she wasn't able to avert her gaze cause Flora's aura was too strong.
'Don't lie I heard everything.' She said in a polite voice.
Her tone made Carla shiver more. She didn't have a single idea about what Flora was up to.
'Tell me.' She said again and Carla nodded all of a sudden without knowing why.
Flora smirked and some beads of sweat appeared on Carla's forehead. But then Flora said,
'Would you mind if I join you?...'
