Chapter 69 - Shifting Process

The wind caresses my cheek, blowing the strands of my hair away from my face, as I look ahead at the glistening sea. Barefoot, I curl my toes, feeling powdered crystal sand. 

Waves crash, trying to reach the end of my toes. And I stare at it with admiration. Because of my nervousness, I felt icy cold even below the scorching noon heat. Heat doesn't seem to get by my pale, cold skin. 

The presence of Dionne passes by my side. I look at her while she returns the stare with a cheeky wink before proceeding. Her skirt drags behind her, and it floats up on water as she gets further into the sea. She stops right when the waves could only reach her stomach.

I hear the sound crunching sand as Faye and Rhys make their way towards my position. Delayed- they had to pay a visit to Agatha before we go. Both of them halts on each side of me, trying to catch their breaths with a bent back, hands on their knees.
