Chapter 38 - Chapter 37: The Evaluation pt.2

I nodded swallowing my pride saying, "Yes Mother I understand I will work on it." Her voice rose slightly and she took her hand, slamming it on her thigh lightly causing abrupt bang. "No! You will fix it and you will do it soon is that clear?" "Yes ma'am." "Good, now I see that box you have in your hand, I was eyeing it the whole time and I want to know what is it?" "It's Diamond Earrings from Sir.Bertram."

My mother scoffed and twirled her hand in the air. From this, a male maid came, putting a long cigar and her hand and lightly it. The flames were bright and the smoked she puffed out of it was thick. Almost enough to make someone choke or faint. "Sigh, that boy wants you as his suitor so bad and while that doesn't seem like a bad idea. I'm just not sure of handing you over to the second inheritor. I mean we all know the blasted girl is the one getting the estate. While the boy is second choice so I-(puffs)I'm not sure if that is a wise choice. But I'll see hand them over."

I did so without a fuss and she observed them looking at the things with absolute disgust. "Ugh no wonder they are in second from us look at these cheap Diamond absolutely pathetic." She put out her cigar on one of the Diamonds and had a maid take away the remains.

She rolled her shoulders for a bit before elegantly leaning to the side saying, "Well, I don't see anything else on you. But if their is, hand it over to me now or face the consequences when I find it." I glanced at Charles and then around with a shake of my head, "That's it." She raised her brows in surprised but nodded snapped her fingers and pointed to the elevator, "Then you are dismissed.Sleep well and get ready for tomorrow's full day and Charles make sure to start on a new outfit for Victoria's future outings maybe. I think I might give the second lead a try."

We both nodded walking to the Elevator and I sighed in relief once we got in there. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought.
