Chapter 187 - Chapter 187

The necromancer's body started to swell as well as all the corpses around us. He was laughing while staring at me.

'Suicide.' I thought as I looked at Sebastiene who stepped in front of me in a protective manner before Kamarius and all the other corpses blew up.

Ink black blood scattered everywhere as well as chunks of flesh from different species. It looked like I was standing on top of a black sea. The undead's blood staining the ground black and poisoning everything including the very earth it was on. If it isn't cleaned up soon, the poison will seep deeper into the earth and into the water, the entire mountain could die.

It was well that Sebastiene created another barrier to protect both of us from the explosion.

"He ran away." Sebastiene said as he gazed far away.

"I can't believe he used the octopus as a model for his escape." I shook my head and chuckled a little before nodding my head at Sebastiene. "Can you bring him back?"

"Easy." Sebastiene smiled as he opened a portal. In a few moments, he came back dragging a screaming and writhing Kamarius.

"Nooo!" Kamarius screamed hysterically. "Let me go!"

I looked at the thrashing piece of what once was a man. He was partly burnt and his right arm was still hanging limply on his side. His face was more disgusting now as the skins he patched on his face were torn off and hanging by a thread. Literally.

"Are you still not going to talk?" I asked him again. "I just need the names."

"I will talk! I will." Kamarius quickly answered as he saw Sebastiene loosening the buttons on his sleeves, ready to torture him.

I nodded at Sebastiene to let him go and Seb threw him on the ground in front of me rather harshly.

"Speak." Sebastiene urged him.

Kamarius crawled sloppily towards me.

"You have no idea how big this is, how grand the his plans are." Kamarius suddenly said as he looked at me dead in the eyes. "He is getting ready to take your place and destroy you. He is bigger and more powerful than you. You can only bow down and follow him. The king will soon--"

"You have already said too much." An alluring voice was heard before Kamarius was able to finish what he was saying. A gorgeous person with white hair and red eyes appeared out of a portal behind him.

"You!" Sebastiene narrowed his eyes at the new comer.

Seeing Sebastiene's reaction, I already knew it was the same man that appeared during their fight with Karciel. It was the very demon that killed Karciel in front of them.

"Dusk." That was the only word that came out of Kamarius's mouth before his throat was slit open.

Seeing Kamarius slaughtered like an animal, I instinctively shot a water ball towards the beauty behind him. The water ball was only able to graze his cheek before he disappeared into the portal again, smiling mysteriously.

Sebastiene bent down to check on Kamarius.

"Is he?" I asked, though I already knew the answer.

"Dead." Sebastiene said flatly.

"Tsk. We did not get to have anything useful." I muttered angrily before sighing.

Sebastiene stood up and looked around us.

"Your orders, my lady?" He asked.

"Let's return to the camp first." I answered him before creating a barrier under the ground to stop the poison from seeping deeper.

Sebastiene bowed lightly and opened a portal where we went in.

When we arrived back at the camps, the first thing we saw was Saintess Sachi doing something with the people clustered close to her there. She nodded at us when she saw us but did not say anything, so Seb and I continued to walk towards our tent.

Mother let out a huge sigh of relief when she saw us. She then stood up and started inspecting us for wounds or injuries and ask us if we were really okay. When she found none, she sat back down and closed her eyes as if to relax her mind.

'She must have been very worried.' I thought to myself.

I turned to the maids with mother and asked; "Where are my sisters?"

"The young ladies are behind the camps with the other knights and his grace, my lady." One of them answered politely.

"Okay." I nodded and went to the back of the camps with Sebastiene.

Before we saw it, we could already smell it. The smell of rotten eggs and decaying flesh.

The undead Kamarius sent to attack here was numerous. We fought with hundreds or a thousand undead while facing Kamarius but that number pales in comparison to what we are seeing right now. Even Sebastiene was stunned at the number of undead, lying around. Dead.

"This is.." Sebastiene was in awe that he could not even finish his sentence.

"Are you amazed at how many they killed or at how many there are?" I asked him jokingly.

Sebastiene looked grimly at the sight.

"I am not amazed, my lady." He replied glumly. "I feel sad at so many bodies here which means they were able to hide so many deaths right under our noses."

Hearing what Sebastiene said, I suddenly felt the sadness that he was talking about. We were so-called protectors of this kingdom yet we did not even realize that there was a massacre happening right under us.

"They will pay for this." I said while clutching my fist. "Whoever they are, I will make sure that they will pay dearly for this!"
