There, standing beside the bathtub with his tiny face close to mine, was a confused looking Dee.
His tiny face was right in front of mine and his red eyes were staring straight to my eyes. His brows were furrowed and his lips were pursed as he tried to understand what I said.
"Hult?" He asked as he tried to lean closer to me.
"I don't understand what you mean." I said softly as reached for the robe Sebastiene hung beside the bathtub and got out.
I walked around towards Dee and a thought came to my mind.
"Dee, let's take off your clothes. Okay?" I said and reached for his white dress shirt and helped him take it off.
I changed the water in the bathtub using my ability which amazed and amused the little demon who tried to catch the water with his tiny hand. I picked him up and placed him inside the tub where he happily started splashing on the water.
"Don't splash too much or the water will get to me." I said as I started to scrub him using a towel. I managed to untangle his hair and started lathering it with scented oil. After all the scrubbing and brushing, the water had turned murky so I drained it and filled it up again with new clean water and let him play in it.
"Mel." Dee called and showed the water he scooped in his hands.
"Good job." I smiled at him and patted his head.
I was drying Dee's hair a while later when I heard noises outside the window, I carried Dee and went out to the balcony. It was dark outside with the cold breeze softly blowing, making the leaves of the trees flutter.
There were silhouettes on the ground and it seemed as if they were fighting.
"No! Stop!" A loud scream came from the ground.
I narrowed my eyes to see clearer when a pair of red eyes looked back at me.
"Seb?" I called out.
The silhouettes started ascending towards the second floor and a smiling Sebastiene holding a screaming and kicking Dumakulem by the nape. I was shocked to see them and Sebastiene was shocked to see me carrying a little demon boy.
"Bud!" Dee shouted when he saw Dumakulem.
Dumakulem stopped moving and looked up, a huge smile then bloomed on his face.
"Dee!" He shouted back and tried to elbow Sebastiene.
"Dumakulem, stop moving." I said to the little boy then turned to Sebastiene who was still stunned at the sight of me and Dee. "Seb, bring that child here."
Dumakulem stopped thrashing around immediately but Seb still looked stunned and did not seem to process my orders.
"Hey demon, Lady Mel said to put me down!" Dumakulem frowned at Sebastiene and snapped his fingers.
Sebastiene woke up from his daze and landed gracefully on top of the rail of my balcony before dropping Dumakulem on the floor. The poor child rolled on the floor and scampered towards me and Dee.
"Dee!" Dumakulem reached for Dee but before he was able to, I raised my hand to stop him.
"Dee had taken a bath and is clean." I told him. "But you are not, so how about taking a bath first too?"
Sebastiene gasped in horror at what he heard.
"My lady!" Seb exclaimed. "You will let these runts bath in your personal bath? What if they are infected by something? What if they have fleas?!"
I sighed at how fussy he is with something so small.
"Seb, go get something for them to wear. I'll bath Dumakulem in the meantime." I ordered him as I went inside my room with the kids. "Also inform the maid who is in charge of the patients, if Elaheh allows it, let the patients take a bath tomorrow. Being dirty will not be good for them"
"But-"
"No 'buts' Seb." I frowned as I place Dee in a chair. "Hurry up or the kid is going to get cold."
"I will, my lady, but please allow me to bath the boy instead." Sebastiene said. "It's not good if you are to bath them yourself."
"Okay, okay. Just hurry." I urged him.
Sebastiene bowed and hurriedly left the room to look for clothes that would fit little kids. I told Dumakulem to sit on a sofa stool while I continue to dry Dee's hair with a towel.
"Dumakulem, why are the both of you here?" I asked him calmly.
Dumakulem looked down and scratched his head embarrassedly.
"Sorry, Lady Mel." He apologized before explaining what happened. "I went to the loo when Dee fell asleep after eating but when I came back, he was gone! I tried to ask the ladies who were taking care of us but they were asleep and I didn't want to wake them. I looked at every room there but Dee wasn't in any one of them. So I tried my luck outside and came across his footprints which led me outside but the big demon saw me and thought that I was trying to escape."
I shook my head lightly.
"But how did Dee get inside my room?" I asked. "And how did you get past the guards who were making rounds outside?"
