Chapter 144 - Chapter 144

"It's easy for me to pass those guards!" Dumakulem stated proudly. "I could even get past demon beasts in the mountains, and those are more dangerous."

"Oh?" I raised my brow. I better make the training include area surveillance. To think that two little kids could easily get past the knights, it's possible for other little 'things' to get past them too.

"Yes! I was trained by the best warrior of our tribe and I am the best among the kids my age too." He proudly stated.

"Really? I would like to meet your teacher one day." I smiled. "But how did Dee come here?"

"That.. I honestly don't know, Lady Mel." Dumakulem answered with a cheeky grin.

Weird. How did Dee get into my bathroom which in on the second floor of the castle?

While we were trying to figure out how Dee came here, Sebastiene came back with the clothes. He immediately took Dee and changed him into a clean dress shirt and also prepared another one for Dumakulem. He then took Dumakulem to the bathroom to wash him while I change inside my closet. When they got out, a blood-red haired boy was with him.

"Bud!" Dee shouted from my bed.

Dumakulem gave him a wide grin before Sebastiene shoved him to the chair and started changing him into a white night gown identical to Dee's. Sebastiene then started drying his hair and braiding it neatly. Dee, seeing Dumakulem's hair braided, asked for his own hair to be braided too. And so, both boys ended up having the same clothes and the same hairstyles.

"Quite impressive." I commented when I saw the end result of Sebastiene's rather quick fix of the boys.

"I have other styles if you'd like, my lady." Sebastiene replied smugly.

"We'll talk about your other talents next time." I chuckled. "For now, tell me if Dee is your son."

"Wha.. What?!" Sebastiene exclaimed in surprise. "My lady, I have never impregnated a woman my entire life! I may have slept with a few.."

I looked at him and raised my brow, a playful smile on my lips.

"Okay, maybe a lot of women." He admitted with a sarcastic roll of his eyes. "But I am very sure that I did not impregnate any of them. Much more, a demon can only impregnate a woman once, every five hundred years. I- I'm pretty sure I have never been with any elf too."

"I'm just messing with you!" I chuckled. "You would have known if he was yours too, it's just weird that he resembles you a lot."

"He does?" Sebastiene asked, doubtfully glancing at Dee. "I do not see any resemblance though?"

"Black hair, red eyes, charming.." I shrugged. "He just does not talk as much as you."

Sebastiene looked at me weirdly then glanced at Dee again.

"I still don't find anything resembling me." Sebastiene shook his head lightly. "What's his name?"

"No name. Dumakulem just nicknamed him Dee for demon." I nodded at the blood-red haired boy. "Human traffickers found him unconscious in the dessert. The theory is that his clan threw him out for being a half. I thought you could check him and see if you could tell which clan he came from."

"Being thrown away is the most probable reason as half-breeds are not really accepted in demon clans. Their inability to reproduce is seen as their uselessness. Either they are killed as soon as they are born or thrown out." Sebastiene explained. "Unfortunately, I cannot really tell which clan he is from."

I looked at Dee who was innocently looking at us with his big round eyes.

"Is there any way to know?" I asked him.

"None, my lady." Sebastiene answered. "But if he is from the Hebi clan, he would have a snake tattoo on his back."

I saw no such thing when I was giving him a bath.

"He did not have one." I sighed. "I guess we should find someone who will adopt him when the time we're sure that he is safe."

As I was speaking, a black man-hole-like hole appeared on the floor in front of Dee, taking us by surprise.

"Sweep." Dee then said as he rubbed his eyes drowsily. "Bud."

Dumakulem quickly held Dee's hand.

"Dee is sleepy, Lady Mel." Dumakulem explained. "We'll be going back to the room underground now."

"Bye Myel." Dee gave me a sleepy smiled and dropped to the hole with Dumakulem following him. The hole closed as soon as the jumped down leaving Sebastiene and I in astonishment.

"The heck just happened?" I asked as I kept my eyes on the floor where the two kids just disappeared.

"I have no idea." Sebastiene replied, equally stunned.
