At the moment Sebastiene let out his blood lust, inside a room on the second floor of the Tabby tea, Miss Bloom trembled from the pressure and fear was evident in her eyes. If she was not trying to maintain a calm demeanor in front of the little girl in front of her, she would have already gone up and hid somewhere.
I looked at the woman in front of me with an awkward smile on her lips. Beads of sweat were rolling down her forehead and she appears to be in pain.
"Miss Bloom," I looked at the woman in front of me. "why do you look like you have an upset stomach?"
Miss Bloom's awkward mile froze and she lightly cleared her throat.
"I apologize, my lady." She looked down at her teacup on the table. "Sir Sebastiene's bloodlust is beyond what I had expected."
Looking at Miss Bloom's effort to stay seated even with the pressure, I raised the corner of my lips.
"Is the pressure strong?" I asked casually.
"Stronger than what I have ever expected." She replied as her jaw clenched and her hands turned into fists.
I look towards the Red Street.
"I guess it is too much for you." I said with a wave of my hand.
Like a heavy weight taken off her shoulder, Miss Bloom breathed a sigh of relief and slumped on her chair.
"Thank you, my lady." She said and wiped the sweat on her face as she sat properly.
I created a barrier around the store to protect it from the pressure of Sebastiene's bloodlust.
I did not react to her thanks but continued to look outside the window while sipping my tea. Miss Bloom collected herself and continues to read random reports about the people related to the issue of sending aphrodisiac to my father.
"There is also a report that I found quite curious. Would you like to hear it, my lady?" Miss Bloom asked after a while.
I raised a brow and turned to look at her.
"Curious? How so?" I replied and put my cup down on the table.
"You see, it says on the reports that this certain businessman has been going around buying dead bodies." Miss Bloom frowned a little. "It is said that he is not only buying dead bodies, but also living ones as long as they are sold."
"Hmm.." I frowned and played with the cup on the table. "That is indeed weird. Tell me about it."
Miss Bloom nodded and continued her report.
"This person is also paying a high price for twins and even higher for triplets. There was nothing wrong with the business he runs and the dead bodies seemed like they just disappear." Miss Bloom's frown grew deeper. "This person is acquainted with both Marquis McClare and Hevitte Yourks."
"The royal sorcerer?" I raised by brow at her.
"Yes, my lady." Miss Bloom nodded. "Yourks buys his sorcery stuffs from him."
I was about to answer when we heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Madam Shalit came up with a teapot of fresh hot tea and come cookies. She took the cold ones and replaced it with the hot new ones before bowing and going back downstairs.
"Dead bodies, twins and a sorcerer." I leaned back on my chair and a cold smile bloomed on my face. "Don't you think there is something wrong with their combination?"
"It is indeed a weird combination, my lady." Miss Bloom answered casually. "But based on the information, Yourks never bought anything that was made from humans. He also prefers plants like Elaheh."
I frowned.
"Eeeekkk"
A soft shriek caught my attention and I turned to look outside the window. A blue luminescent bird was flying towards us.
'Beth's spirit animal?' I thought as it flew closer and perched on the windowsill.
The bird looked at me and opened its beak.
"The coast is clear, my lady." Came Beth's voice from the bird. After it spoke, the bird disappeared in a dust of sparkles. It was actually a pretty sight.
"I guess they are done." I spoke as smiled at Miss Bloom. "Would you like to come with me and see you ex-lover?"
"Of course, I would! I have been waiting for this moment where I can rub his worst decision in his face." Miss Bloom sneered.
"Then let's start for the Red street." I stood up and walked first. Miss Bloom followed me from behind, looking worried.
We went down the stairs and the Shalit couple dropped what they were doing to meet us.
"Are you going now, Lady Mel?" Madam Shalit asked.
"Yes." I nodded. "Haktor has already sent a message that everything is under control now."
"I see." Madam Shalit smiled warmly. "Should I put the wines in the carriage?"
"No." I shook my head lightly. I ordered a few bottles of wine to celebrate the first mission of the Knights of Noktis. "I have ordered another carriage for it that would take it straight to the castle. I will be heading to the Red Street first."
The Shalit couple exchanged weird glances but did not say anymore, they just reluctantly nodded.
"Is everything alright?" I asked them. "All three of you have weird expressions on your faces."
The three of them flinched at my question. Mister Shalit looked up and put his hand on his nape, looking embarrassed. Miss Bloom smiled awkwardly while Madam Shalit sighed.
"My lady, do you know what is in the Red Street?" Madam Shalit asked carefully.
