I furrowed my brows and looked at his reflection in the mirror.
"Why so?" I asked.
Sebastiene smiled. "They have this passive ability that makes them be seen as the most beautiful by the looker."
"But different people have different standards of beauty?" I stated.
"True." Sebastiene nodded.
"So their looks change depending on who is looking at them?" I asked confused. It wouldn't make sense if their looks depends on who is looking at them, they would end up faceless!
Wait.
"Seb, are the Cubus faceless?" I asked as I craned my neck to face him.
"No, my lady." Sebastiene chuckled softly. "Their passive ability only works on weak beings, but once you see through their ability, you will see their real faces. I can assure you, my lady, even without their ability, you will still be dazed by their beauty."
"Do they also live close by?" I asked as I stood up.
"They do, my lady." Sebastiene answered as he followed me. "Most demon clans live around Castellan territories."
"What about your clan?" I sat on the edge of my bed.
"Our clan also lives close by." Sebastiene answered vaguely and passed me a glass of warm milk.
I did not asked further and just nodded, understanding that he does not want to delve more into his clan. I do not know much about Sebastiene but I know he would never dare to betray us, so I will always give him the benefit of the doubt. I will learn everything in time, there is no need to rush.
"By the way, my lady, what do you plan to do tomorrow?" He asked while I was drinking the milk.
"What is in my schedule?" I asked him in return.
"Meeting the new butler and checking the newly hired ladies if you want to have anyone of them as your maid." Sebastiene memorized.
"I'll train in the morning and we'll go through security precautions for mother's tea party with the knights." I answered. "Also, make sure that Klaus is present during the discussion."
"Understood, my lady." Sebastiene replied.
"Also Seb, how are my sisters doing with their portals?" I asked as I remembered that I also need to train more.
"They have already reach the point of being able to travel everywhere within the castle." Sebastiene answered knowingly. "They have been diligently training every available time they get."
"Okay." I nodded. "Help me find the best etiquette teachers in the kingdom too. We will need to have people with strong backing to see how well we do in terms of etiquette. That way, their word of mouth will be more trustworthy to the other nobles."
"I will have it ready by tomorrow." Sebastiene nodded.
"Also, check what Marionne's aunt and cousins have tattled to others about what happened here. I need to create a good back up plan for it." I paused to think for a moment. "Also, check the all the mercenary's guild are located throughout Westreon. I will need it for future references."
"I understand my lady." Sebastiene nodded again.
"If there is nothing else, you may take your leave." I laid on the bed and covered myself with a blanket.
"Have a good night, my lady." Sebastiene stood up and bowed before walking out and closing the door softly behind him.
I laid in bed and stared at the plain white ceiling trying to gather my thoughts.
My goal at the moment is to strengthen House Castellan with people we can trust. The easiest way would be to hire more people with strength enough to stop an attack from Sebastiene. He is my measurement of strength and weakness. So far, I can only trust Astrid, Sebastiene and Anderson, the others are still under monitor.
I also need to clean up the territory. Since I am in charge of the military, keeping the people of our territory safe is a priority. Rats like Karciel needs to be exterminated, and everyone who supports him will go with him. Business related stuff and other affairs regarding the territory, Athy will take care of it. I just need to make it safe for her.
For the necromancer, I still need to know who it is and if that person is working alone or working with someone else. Defeating them would be a piece of cake, with Sebastiene and Athy with us. On the other hand finding a way to lure them out is the hard part. I would need to make a clear plan for it.
For Marquis McClare, I will settle the debts with him, but I still need to know why he attacked us. As far as I know, the McClare family lives in Viere. I should pay them a visit one of these days.
I did not know when I fell asleep thinking, but I was definitely thinking of other things related to our house.
The next morning, I woke up to a knock at the door.
"Come in." I spoke in a groggily and rubbed the sleep off my eyes by rubbing them with my hands.
"My lady." Sebastiene came in and showed me an envelope.
"What's that?" I frowned, too lazy to even check the insignia.
"A letter came in from the royal palace." Sebastiene answered. "It is addressed to His grace, the archduke, but the third lady instructed me to send it to you instead."
A letter from the royal palace?
"Open it." I told him as I stood up and rested on the headboard.
Sebastiene opened the envelope and checked it first for anything funny. When he was sure that it was safe, he passed it to me.
"Invitation to the monthly nobles gathering." I read the invitation and the corner of my lips tightened and raised in contempt.
The invitation was for the nobles gathering which my father, as the one with highest noble status, does not need an invitation to. I reckon that it was just for show and they must have heard about me being a vessel. The invitation even mentioned that their agenda would be the security of the kingdom and the discussion of each house's strength.
How much more obvious could they be?
"Seb, where are my sisters?" I asked him as I gave him back the letter.
"Lady Athanasia is in her office while lady Uriel is still asleep, my lady." He answered.
"Go wake Uriel up and tell her to meet me in Athy's office." I instructed him and went down from my bed.
"Yes, my lady." Sebastiene bowed. "Should I call a maid over to help you prepare?"
"No need, I can take care of myself." I motioned for him to go with my hand.
"I understand, my lady." He bowed. "I be back as soon as I can."
I hurriedly took a bath by creating a rain cloud to use as shower. I got the idea from watching an anime about pirates with one of the characters uses a staff that could create weather.
After my bath, I changed and called for Sebastiene who was standing outside my door to help me fix my hair. We then started tor Athy's office.
Sebastiene knocked on the door of Athy's office and announce my arrival. A young girl, around ten with curly black hair and wearing a maid's uniform opened the door for us.
"Hello sister." Athy greeted when she saw me at the door. Elaheh and Loki were standing on each of her side. They both curtsied when I entered the office.
"I have read the invitation." I smirked and motioned for Sebastiene to give her the invitaion. "We need to talk."
