Chapter 89 - Chapter 89

I picked up my cup and slowly sipped my tea.

"So you are telling me that you were not a part of the undead army that attacked us that day?" I looked at him as I put my cup down.

"Yes." He nodded seriously.

I frowned.

"Then why the hell did you attack me when I was aiming for the portal?" I raised my brow at him.

"I got worried since the portal was my only way back." He reasoned. "I did not even know where I was and it panicked me."

"I also thought you were with the necromancer." He added in a small voice.

I stared at him in silence.

"You were wounded." I spoke softly to which he nodded.

I frowned.

"It took you a short while to heal yourself from the injuries that you got from the Spirits, but it took you a long time to heal that other wound. Why?"

Loki tilted his head and furrowed his brows.

"Do you mean the wound on my side?" He asked. "That wound was deeper than the injuries I received from the spirits. I was also weakened at that time from not eating anything for days."

"So you are telling me that your healing abilities depends on your physical condition?" I asked him

"Yes, isn't all healing abilities, passive or not, depends on it?" He asked, confused.

"I have no idea." I honestly answered and turned to Sebastiene. "Does your healing ability also depends on your physical condition?"

Sebastiene smiled vaguely before shaking his head.

"My healing abilities depends on the amount of force soul I have left." He answered. "Though being physically unconditioned means that your force soul would also be lesser, so I guess it has some sort of connection, my lady."

"Then, is your healing ability also passive?" Athy asked him.

"Yes, my lady. All demon kind have passive healing abilities." He smiled at Athy.

"That's an awesome ability to have." Uriel mumbled.

"But, my ladies most likely have that ability as well, since you are from House Castellan." Sebastiene stated, making all three of us turn our heads to look at him.

"How would we know it?" Uriel asked, her eyes shining in excitement.

"There are plenty of ways." Sebastiene answered, his face was thoughtful.

"I want to know the easiest way." Uriel answered.

Sebastiene and Loki glanced at each other while Elaheh was surprised.

"Second lady.."

Elaheh tried to say something but was cut by Loki.

"The easiest way is to wound yourself and check if it heals." Loki answered.

"Ehh?" Uriel exclaimed, her face expressed disbelief.

Seeing the disbelief in her face, I rolled my eyes and sighed. I stood up and took a dagger from my desk. I unsheathed it and without a word, plunged it right in the middle of my palm, and was as quick at pulling it out.

I saw the wound on my hand undoubtedly closing itself swiftly. Every tissue, the tiniest blood vessel and skin connected itself to each other. In a matter of seconds, the wound was healed and no scars or pain could be seen or felt. It was like the wound never existed in the first place.

Uriel had a look of horror and almost screamed at what I did. Sebastiene and Loki merely turned their heads towards me before Sebastiene took out a white handkerchief from his breast pocket and started cleaning the blood with it.

"My lady, please refrain from doing such unnecessary acts." He spoke calmly as he was cleaning my wound. "You almost gave me a heart attack."

"Those words sounds weird coming from you Seb." I snorted and walked back to my seat.

Sebastiene smiled and followed me.

"Going back to you, Loki." Athy turned to Loki. "You still haven't found your brother, right?"

"Yes, my lady." Loki answered in a depressed tone.

"And you have been looking for him for around four hundred years?" She continued.

"More than four hundred years, my lady, not lesser." He answered.

"And you are sure that the necromancer that attacked you, is the same necromancer that sent those wild beasts to attack us?"

"Yes, my lady."

"How can you be sure?"

Loki smiled and pointed his nose.

"Lycans have sensitive noses, and every force soul has a different scent." He explained. "The necromancer that took my brother, and the one that sent those undead are, without a doubt, the same person."

"Then, by serving House Castellan, do you plan to stop your search for your brother?" I asked him the most important question for him.

He took a moment before answering.

"No, my lady."

"Then how will you keep your promise to serve my sister if you are planning to look for your brother?" I turned to look at Athy and then back to him.

"I plan on keeping my promise to serve Lady Athanasia while to looking for my brother at the same time." He answered with a knowing smile.

"And how do you plan to do that?" I asked with a hint of coldness in my voice.

I do not plan to let him use my sister in any way unbeneficial to her, though, I doubt she would allow herself to be used. I still don't want her to be hurt by being abandoned by a person she chose to serve her.

"The necromancer seems to be after your family or someone from your house." Loki smiled. "That won't be the last time he will attack."

I stared at him and he just smiled back.

"If he does, do you plan on following him and abandoning my sister?" I frowned and so did Athy. She must have realized where I was going with the questions.

"No." Loki answered. "I am planning to catch that Necromancer here and making him return my brother. Dead or alive."
