We made it outside the forest with no problems. On the clearing just outside the forest where we came in, the saintesses and my sisters were waiting for us. The knights were a bit surprised but they were still avle to bow and greet them.
I actually forgot about the saintesses after the wolf's attack. I left them inside when I followed the paw prints.
"Sis, did you find anything?" Uriel asked when we reached them.
"We found some of our white sheets had been torn to strips to make bandages in a cave." I said as I picked out the leaves that were stuck on my hair.
"Bandages?" Athy asked.
"Wait. I thought the attacker was a wolf?" Uriel asked confused.
"It's a lycan." I corrected.
"A lycan?!" The saintesses gasped in shock.
"You mean a werewolf?" Athy asked bewildered.
I nodded.
"Like Jacob Black kind of werewolf?" Uriel asked.
I sighed and nodded again.
She looked at the knights behind me just to confirm what I was saying is true. The knights behind me nodded with confidence. When she was certain that I was not lying, she gave me a shocked look.
Idiot.
"My lady," Haktor stepped forward. "we, the knights will go ahead and fix the schedule for guarding."
"Okay." I nodded at as I faced him. "Give me a report later."
I looked over at the knights.
"Thank you for your work today everyone."
The knights gave a slight bow before moving away.
We also returned to the castle to discuss the things we know, but before we got to the front door, we noticed a white carriage in front.
"My ladies," Saintess Jubie stopped and looked at the carriage before sighing and facing us. "I will have to apologize but I need to leave. My carriage is here."
"Ohhh.." Uriel looked at her bitterly. "Can't you stay for dinner?"
Saintess Jubie hunched to be on eye level with Uriel.
"I'm sorry, my lady, but I really need to return. There are things that I left not completed back at the temple." She explained with a regretful expression.
"Okay. I'll go and visit the temple soon." Uriel smiled radiantly.
"The temple of Tribmaka will always be open for you." She looked at us and bowed. "Goodbye my ladies, I'll see you again sometime."
We smiled at her and bid her goodbye. The carriage rode off and disappeared on thin air.
"Wha? What was that?" I looked at the other saintesses.
"That was one of her abilities my lady, teleportation." Saintess Karen smiled at me.
"Woowww.." Me and my sisters admired the saintess's ability.
After staring at the empty space that the carriage once was, we all went to my study. Sebastiene left us to make some tea.
I told them all that happened in the forest and what we came up with from it. As I was telling them, Sebastiene came in with tea and some snacks.
"So you're telling us that the wolf that attacked the maids was the same wolf you fought with during the attack?" Uriel asked with furrowed brows.
"But I thought the wolf you fought with has electric or lightning abilities?" Athy added.
"I thought she said that all the creatures that came out of that hole died after destroying it?" Uriel asked perplexed.
"They did, but the wolf somehow survived." I replied sipping my tea.
"Is that even possible?" Athy questioned.
"It is, my lady." Sebastiene answered her. "There is a possibility that the wolf was not dead to begin with."
"That is the strongest possibility, but it is also possible that the wolf was actually the strongest puppet and the necromancer is still controlling it." Saintess Sachi added.
I looked at her. She could also be right.
"I doubt it little-, I mean saintess Sachi." Sebastiene quickly contradicted her.
"Why is that Seb?" I asked.
"The dead do not bleed, my lady." There was a certain sinister feeling when he said it.
Athy frowned at him.
"I wonder if you'd bleed if I stab you?" Athy asked him with a vile smile of her own.
The saintesses visibly swallowed hard at the tension.
I sighed.
"Stop it Athy." I told her off.
"He started it!" Athy pointed at Sebastiene.
"I did not say anything against you, my lady." Sebastiene refuted.
"You were smiling malisciously!" Athy retorted. "It gave us the creeps."
"Okay, okay. Stop it already." I massaged my temples.
The two of them stopped their banters but Athy still gave Sebastiene a sharp look to which he smiled in return. It only irked the alrwady annoyed Athy.
"So, back on the subject." Uriel ignored the two and picked up wherr we left off. "This lycan can change from wolf to human anytime? No full moons needed?"
"Yes." I nodded.
"What do you mean by the moon, my lady?" Saintess Karen asked Uriel.
"I thought that lycans would only change into their wolf form when the moon is full." Uriel shrugged.
"Not really, but they do get twice as strong when the moon is full." Saintess Karen enlightened us.
"Not only their physical strength but also for those with abilities, their abilities gets much stronger when there is a full moon." Saintess Sachi added.
"Is there any way we could catch it?" Uriel asked the saintesses. "Sister only managed to trap it, but we need to know if there is any way to catch a lycan."
"None that I know of, my lady." Saintess Karen shook her head.
"The only way I know is if you actually beat it in a fight." Saintess Sachi said.
I thought about it.
"But I did beat him during our fight?" I frowned.
"You need to beat him in a one on one fight, my lady." Sebastiene chimed in. "When you fought it, you had some of the knights help you. It does not count for the lycan."
"I see." I took another sip of my tea. "Besides you Seb. Who else in this house do think can defeat a lycan in a one on one fight?"
Sebastiene thought for a second before answering.
"You young ladies, and depending on the situation, General Haktor, General Marionne maybe Astrid and Anderson." He summed up.
"Only eight of us huh." I frowned.
"The last four would depend on the strength of the lycan they are facing." Sebastiene cleared. "There are regular lycans and there are lycans who are stronger than the others."
"I see." I frowned deeper.
"It's no use thinking about it. Just send an order to kill the wolf in sight or make a run for it." Athy stated uncaringly.
I looked at her annoyed.
