Chapter 60 - Chapter 60

Opening a portal was easy. But when I tried to put things inside, the things would come out distorted too.

I tried putting in an apple and it went out mashed!

I don't know what I was doing wrong, but I found it quite hard.

Sebastiene explained to me the process of a portal and even showed me how to visualize it. When I try doing it, the things get chopped, broken or mashed. Not one thing I put in got through safely.

"Fuck!" I cursed as another rock came out shattered beyond recognition.

"My lady, maybe you have a different way of visualizing a door?" Sebastiene asked me awkwardly. We have been here for almost an hour and I still couldn't make anything pass through the portal whole.

"What do you mean?" I asked as I wiped the sweat rolling down my face.

"I mean, when you think about the portal, do you see it as a door that you could just walk into?" He asked clearly.

"Yes." I nodded.

"Hmm.." He thought for a second. "Can you try visualizing it another way?"

I looked at him blankly.

How in the world would I think of a door any other way?

All I could visualize is how to open the door and enter then exit. Is there any other way to think about how a door works? This demon is not making sense.

I kept thinking of how to visualize a door.

Open. Get in. Get out.

"Ah!" I exclaimed and immediately opened another portal.

I picked up an apple and threw it into the portal, waited a few minutes and it came out of the other portal whole!

I ran to pick it up and showed it to Sebastiene to check.

"Oh my!" Sebastiene looked pleasantly surprised. "You did it, my lady."

"I see." I nodded to myself and then smiled to a confused looking Sebastiene. "I guess my visualization was wrong."

"Hmmm..?" Sebastiene looked at me thoughtfully then held out an apple. "Should we try this next?"

I continued to practice with Sebastiene until ten out of ten things are able to pass through the portal safely. When I was able to perfectly let different objects pass through with more ease.

"You did well in such a short time, my lady." Sebastiene clapped his hands. "Now, shall we take it a notch higher?"

I looked at Sebastiene who was now holding a turtle like demon beast. It was small, around the size of a regular plate. It was clearly mad as it was snapping its mouth non-stop.

"You want me to practice with that?" I pointed at the snapping turtle.

"This is a Gorgour, a notorious demon beast that has a strong defence shell, my lady. It would be the best living thing we could sample." Sebastiene explained before handing the snapping beast to me.

Starting from the Gorgour, we slowly practiced with different demon beasts which Sebastiene had on him. Don't ask me, I don't know where he got those beasts from. Thankfully, none of the beasts were killed.

"Well, you are indeed doing great my lady." Sebastiene praised me. "Shall I pass through this time?"

I looked at him and nodded. I was confident that I can now properly open a portal.

I opened a portal that has an exit just a few meters away. Sebastiene came in and I waited at the exit nervously. A few minutes came by and Seb walked out unharmed. I breathed out a sigh of relief.

"Hmmm.. Everything seems fine." He nodded after checking himself.

"I want to try it for myself." I told him. I really wanted to. I want to experience what was inside of my portal.

"It should be fine, my lady." Sebastiene smiled.

I opened another portal the same distance as I did with Sebastiene. Sebastiene walked towards the exit and nodded. I walked into it.

Walking inside the portal, I felt myself float. It felt like I was underwater but able to breathe. The surroundings was just a plain, neverending space. There was only one way to an exit and I floated towards it.

"Congratulations, my lady." Sebastiene clapped his hands. "You have perfectly grasped how to create a portal."

"Thanks Seb!" I joyfully thanked him.

"Then, shall we proceed to level two, my lady?" Sebastiene smiled as he raised two fingers.

"What? That was not all?" I asked.

"Of course not. Do you not want to be able to open a portal with longer distances and shorter time?" He asked tilting his head.

Oh my gosh!
