City of Rendure, Elfied Empire
After hours of soaring through the skies, the Griffin finally flew down and landed. The two boys who fainted from exhaustion and shock didn't even wake up after the bumpy landing. The man took the two off of the Griffin as he whistled once more and the Griffin bowed down before flying back to the sky. Three ladies wearing sisters clothing came up to him and took the two boys without a word, they bowed down as respect and left to take them into a nursing ward to tend them. Another man went towards the one who took the two boys, unlike him who was wearing a black suited mail armor with a black cape, the one approaching wore a heavy silver armor, behind him was a greatsword gleaming in gold and ruby sheathed on a sturdy silver case, he had features that resembles much of a prince yet also resembles a knight. "General Rudlert" the man greeted, General Rudlert saluted in front of the man "Your highness". The man chuckled softly and motioned General Rudlert to relax, he then stared at the nursing ward where Rululan and Mymyrr were brought "Refugees?" He asked, "No your highness, The town they live in was attacked" hearing the generals reply he motioned him to go to a more private place to discuss the matter "General Rudlert before we go" he spoke in a soft yet stern voice, the General looked at the man ready to listen to what he was going to say "I thought I told you to call me by my name" his words were soft, General Rudlert shook his head in a respectful manner "You are the Prince of Elfied, I do not dare to call you as if we're equals" the man frowned with his reply "we've lived together throughout the years yet you still never fulfill my wish Rudlert" General Rudlert just bowed apologetically and without another word they went on their way.
Within the nursing ward Mymyrr slowly gained conciousness and woke up he sat on his bed rubbing his temples, followed by Rululan who also woke up and sat on his bed looking around in a confused manner, he was inspecting where the man took them. "You're awake" a feminine voice spoke softly, both boys looked at the entrance adjacent to their beds and saw a woman wearing an elegant long white robe along with a priest staff adorned with pearls and crystals and a cresent top with a sapphire orb floating in between. Rululan was amazed at this woman's presence, he can clearly sense a strong spiritual aura around her. Mymyrr on the other hand, stood up and bowed to her "Lady Elfied" hearing what Mymyrr regarded her he quickly stood up and bowed as well. They were facing the Queen of the Elfied Empire. Queen Elfied smiled, "Are both of you fine?" she asked, both boys nodded as reply, she turned and proceeded to walk outside of the ward "Rest if you need more, once your energy is replenished come to the main hall" she instructed, Mymyrr and Rululan dumbfoundedly looked at each other, the Queen wants to see them? before they can ask why or say thank you for helping them, the Queen was already far away, Rululan went outside of the ward and looked around, "Mymyrr... we're-" he trailed off, Mymyrr wondering why his friend trailed off also came to check outside and looked at the direction he was staring at. The man who took them was there, sitting alone in a bench, he seemed to be resting.
"He's the one who took us" Mymyrr unconciously stated
Rululan let out a small 'mn' and nodded in response, he turned to Mymyrr and inspected his condition "Are you okay?" he asked "I am, don't worry too much" he replied. Both fell silent once more and stared back at the General that took them, feeling the intense stares of their eyes General Rudlert sighed and finally looked at their direction as he stood up. Rululan let out a small 'eep' after being noticed by the General, Mymyrr on the other hand was inspecting his armor and cape closely, General Rudlert walked up to the two boys and looked at them one by one "well?" he asked, he was asking if they were both doing fine already, Rululan nodded slowly and Mymyrr responded with "yes", General Rudlert then proceeded to clear his throat "I apologize for suddenly taking you away". With General Rudlert's words Rululan remembered the horrendous scene that he saw earlier this morning. The silent forest, the burning town, the dark fog, and the demon. Seeing Rululan's grave expression, General Rudlert patted his shoulders and looked at his eyes implying that they're safe now and that theres nothing to worry about, he then looked at Mymyrr and smiled "I have sent a message to your family, your father will see you shortly", instead of feeling safe and happy, Mymyrr turned pale "my... f-f-father?" he stuttered, General Rudlert chuckled and patted his back "your father may be strict but this time it was more than just a small misunderstanding" he said assuringly to Mymyrr. Rululan turned to Mymyrr as well and rubbed his back looking at him with a sympathetic look, Mymyrr saw how Rululan looked and his face flushed red trying his best not to laugh leading to small snickers "Rululan, you clown.." seeing Mymyrr smiling he returned to his normal expression and looked at General Rudlert "My town... how is it?" he heard no replies, General Rudlert sighed and shook his head solemnly, an awkward silence filled the air between the three.
After 10 minutes or so, a group of knights and rogues entered the place, a tall and masculine figure at the center, Mymyrr gulped at this sight, it was his father, Border General Liann. The group stopped for a while, bowing down to the Queen who was also headed their way. "What happened to my town, it's not normal is it?" Rululan asked after seeing all these high classed Elfieds guarding and helping them, General Rudlert nodded firmly, "You've seen the demon as well didn't you?" quite baffled at how General Rudlert knew, Rululan nodded.
General Liann came up to the three and bowed to General Rudlert "Rudy" he spoke "Li" General Rudlert replied, both smiled at each other, General Liann then turned at the two boys, Rululan bowed while Mymyrr choke, "Rululan, I'm glad you're safe" General Liann spoke gently, Rululan smiled in response, "As for you Mymyrr... why didn't you call me the moment something went wrong?" he said almost in a scolding manner, Mymyrr looked like a child who'se candy got taken away "I... I forgot..." he mumbled, General Liann sighed, "Come, you're mother heard of the news, he wants to see you" Mymyrr nodded in response "I'll get going Rululan, I'll come back here later", Rululan smiled once more "okay". General Rudlert and General Liann bowed to each other once again, Mymyrr went along with the group as they walked away from Rululan's view.
"Rululan, was it?" General Rudlert asked, Rululan nodded, "Rululan Ghlyght" he added. General Rudlert smiled and motioned Rululan to follow him, not far from them, Queen Efied stood waiting for them, "The Queen heard of the destruction of Maldore, she wants to have a conversation with you" Rululan nodded once more and followed General Rudlert and the Queen. While walking Rululan couldn't help but wander his eyes around the huge palace, it had white limestones as the walls, cobbled pavement, the trees and bushes were properly and elegantly maintained, it almost looked like a great temple, on the top of the palace was a stained glass showing a picture of an etheral white stag and an oak tree. A seperate white tower stood at the left wing of the palace, it was taller than any of the buildings inside, and it had a giant silve bell at the top.
"Is this your first time in Rendure child?" The Queen asked, Rululan nodded once more, finally finishing his examination on the surroundings Rululan went to General Rudlert bowing as he asked "Are there any other survivors?", General Rudlert shook his head, "the locals died on the fire, while the hunters and adventurers inside the forest vanished without a trave, only the two of you are the survivors" "Do not worry child, the palace will be your place from now on" the Queen assuringly smiled, both Rululan and General Rudlert was shocked of what the Queen just said "Your highness, you mean?..." General Rudlert trailed off, "He is the only one left of the Maldore people, I can't bear to send him off knowing that he doesnt have a plave to go" General Rudlert bowed and apologized for asking such a trivial matter, Rululan bowed in respect and gratitude.
After some walks, they finally arrived at yhe main hall, the halls were adorned with crystals and jewels and metallic white colored fabric hung from the cieling along with the Elfied banner, at the center wall was a giant tapestry, the picture on it showed the story of the great siege of the Vashian Temple. A huge round table stood at the middle, there were already some Elfieds waiting on their seats, they all stood up and bowed as they saw the Queen enter the hall, General Rudlert ushered Rululan to sit beside him, "General, why is there a need for me to join such a meeting?" Rululan wondered, General Rudlert smiled and replied "You're the only one who survived and let alone saw the demon residing in that forest" after hearing the reply, Rululan understood that this meeting revolves arount the towns sudden downfall.
