He sighed, he had never felt scared and disregarded almost equal to trash before. Surely, General Rudlert and the Queen doesn't think of it like this but General Arctus' words were like knives plunging his chest in every word he spoke. Rululan never thought that Màchites even the most prevailing class in the Empire, is still considered as trash to the eyes of a general. He had always thought that their Empire was peaceful and regarded everyone as equals, but now, it seems that he was wrong, Rululan dragged his legs to walk a bit farther away from the hall's entrance, his mind was now swirling with thoughts and his heart filled with different emotions, he never dreamed nor wished for a day like this to happen at all. He went back to the ward and plopped right to the bed he slept earlier, staring right at the cieling, his mind began to wonder once more.
The demon back at the forest, it seemed to be so powerful, just the black fog shows how strong his demonic power was. But no matter how he puts it, it doesnt make sense. Back when they were at the forest, they never saw the black fog envelope anything at all, considering how big it was they should've seen it or even more they should've felt it, yet neither of them did. "i didn't feel anything" Mymyrr's words echoed in Rululan's mind, just then he thought, 'didn't feel anything?', true that there was no trace of the forest's low spiritual power once they entered that path and it was wierd and he felt uneasy in each step, but there was no black fog within the perimeter at all. "Only demons can ward off natural spiritual powers like this" his words ringed on his ears once more, because of demonic power, spiritual power will automatically be warded away thus it was only natural to think that way, but then again, the demon was huge enough to be seen from an aerial perspective yet it wasn't there on the ground. If by chance, that path they ran away from was where the demon and the black fog was, then that would mean only one thing, "its invisible in land perspective?!..." Rululan unconciously exclaimed.
"Which is invisible?" a cold voice interoggated him, shocked and confused at who it was Rululan quickly jumped of the bed and bowed, he then stood straight only to see that it was the Templar he saw earlier, Vallier. "I'm sorry Templar sir, I was just speaking my thoughts out loud" Rululan quickly apologized and bowed again, Vallier's presence was more scarier that that of General Arctus'. "Is that so?" Vallier asked again, Rululan nodded shyly his legs trembling like he had seen a great evil in front of him.
Vallier stood at the entrance and didn't budge a little, he stared right to his eyes and started examining Rululan's features, "A Màchite" he spoke, Rululan suddenly felt bitter after hearing his words, he prepared himself to hear another word of disgust towards Màchites while silently biting his lower lip. "I heard Màchites are great trackers despite having low spiritual auras" Vallier spoke, Rululan's eyes widened and he looked at Vallier once again, he didn't make disgusted or hateful comments to Màchites? "Tell me boy, what's on your mind?" Vallier spoke once more, Rululan felt like he was entangled in thick vines and he couldn't move at all, he can't even take away his gaze to the man in front of him, if he wants to be free from this constricting feeling, he needs to talk.
Rululan opened his mouth almost about to say something, "Rululan?" a familiar voice called his name, "Mymyrr?" Rululan replied, Vallier looked behind him and Rululan was able to see Mymyrr standing at the entrance as well.
Mymyrr's eyes widened and ran towards Rululan shielding him with his arms "What are you doing to him?!" he angrily hissed to Vallier. Vallier didn't reply, instead he raised one of his brows and stared intently at Mymyrr, "Umm.. Mymyrr?" Rululan looked at Mymyrr who was still 'protecting' him, "That man is the Main Templar Vallier of the Vanguard Empire" Rululan said with a tone of 'i can't believe your being like this to an official' hearing his words Mymyrr froze at his place, Rululan mentally did a face palm since he still couldn't move, "So.." Vallier's cold voice ringed through their ears "You're the other survivor?" he asked while staring directly at Mymyrr, Mymyrr nervously shook his head, Rululan was shocked with what Mymyrr just did "He is the other survivor" Rululan explained "I am! I nodded remember?" Mymyrr complained, Rululan spoke back "you shook your head dumb--" "you two seem close" Vallier's words ringed once more, the two disgustingly looked away from each other, "we're not" Mymyrr spoke, "mn" Rululan nodded in agreement.
Silence filled the ward, Vallier finally moved from his position and entered the ward while he motioned the two to sit down, Rululan and Mymyrr followed and sat at the edge of each others bed while Vallier was now standing a bit closer infront of them. "Where were we?" Vallier spoke, Rululan quickly opened his mouth to continue where they left before Mymyrr interrupted "The demon in the forest" he spoke, Vallier nodded, while Mymyrr's jaw dropped. "A what now?" Mymyrr asked, "Didn't we both ran to the conclusion that there was a demon in the forest" Rululan looked at Mymyrr, "we did but I didn't see anything" "No no it's because it's invisible in land perspective and can only be seen in air" Rululan explained, Mymyrr was more confused than before, "how could you be so certain?" he asked "we saw it on aerial perspective remember?" Rululan replied "no I didn't see anything unusual in the air at all, you sure about what your saying Rululan?" Mymyrr asked again, hearing his words Rululan was at a loss, Mymyrr didn't see anything? then, how did I clearly see it?
"What's on your mind Rululan" Vallier asked, Rululan almost jumped after hearing him call his name, "I- I was just wondering if i was just seeing things..." he spoke almost to a whisper, Mymyrr snickered, "you've always seen things that wasn't there ever since remember?" Rululan nodded and laughed in agreement, "I don't mind if you're delusional, tell me what you're thinking" Vallier urged, Rululan looked at him for a while and seeing that he was serious he gulped and nodded.
"Earlier, I was wondering about the demon i saw when we were at the air with General Rudlert, it was huge enough to be seen in aerial view and from that height, also there was a huge black fog surrounding it as well. I was wondering why, even though the fog was wide and the demon was huge, there was no sign of it in the forest when we were inside it. The only anomaly we felt was when we didn't feel anything, not even the naturally low spiritual aura of the forest."
Mymyrr nodded in agreement to his last sentence but his face showed confusion and disbelief in the first two sentences he spoke. Vallier on the other hand just looked at him without any expression, Rululan sighed and continued.
"So i was wondering how we didn't feel anything and we didn't see such a thing, then I thought that what if that silent path we went through was actually the start of the parameter that the black fog engulfed? If that's the case then feeling no spiritual aura makes sence since it was warded off by demonic power. But then, there was no black fog in the perimeter, so I suddenly thought, what if both fog and demon couldn't be seen in the land? then it'll make sense why there was nothing on the land perspective but in the air..."
Rululan finished, Mymyrr was almost getting what Rululan said, but he was still confused, "what about the fire?" he asked. Rululan looked at him and shook his head sadly, "I think the thing in the forest is different on the one that burned the town down" Rululan answered, "That's true" Vallier added. Both looked at him, "What's true?" Mymyrr asked, "All he said"he answered as he looked at Rululan, "All?" Rululan couldn't believe what he just said, Vallier nodded in response, "But, how could you say so?" Mymyrr was skeptical, "I am a templar, I know for a certain way, I just needed confirmation from another expert" He answered nonchalantly, Rululan choked, "An expert?! but I'm no expert", Vallier just stared at him again and Mymyrr agreed to Rululan by nodding his head, "You felt the King, Queen, and the Prince's Spiritual Aura didn't you?" Vallier pointed out, Rululan just nodded "Isn't that normal?" he said defensively.
Before he was able to make more defense statements, Mymyrr looked at Rululan more confused now, "You felt it?" he asked, Rululan nodded, "you felt it too didn't you?" Rululan asked, Mymyrr shook his head, "All i know is that those three sealed their spiritual powers making it hidden and impossible for one to feel it" Mymyrr explained, "but I'm a Màchite" Rululan retorted, "only masters of tracking can do such a thing" Vallier responded "Have you really never thought of it this way?" he added, Rululan was at a loss for words and just stared at Vallier, "Màchites are born with a gift of tracking auras, but for one to be able to track and feel auras that are hidden is only capable for an apprentice or a master" Vallier concluded.
