Chapter 60 - _____ Arthur

....

"Did you miss me?" I asked with a smirk as he looked up at me with pure hatred. "Will you tell me what I want today? Or do we have to get rough?"

".....'

Seeing his silence, I frowned before going towards a rack full of tools. I then went to grab a pair of spiked tongs but was stopped by Arthurs calm voice. "Pain won't work on me you fake."

Hovering my hand above the tools, I had a frown that he could not see. I was currently going over a plan of action I could use to make him croak. But why is here in the first place?

Arthur here isn't from this world you see. I have never heard of a character named Arthur and I currently suspect him of having Return By Death. After all, he just called me a fake and isn't afraid of being tortured.

"Have I perhaps killed you?" I calmly asked while looking towards a certain tool in front of me. "If so, you should know what I plan to do to you correct?"

"....."

Hearing his silence, I turned around and met his eyes only to see a look full of a hopelessness. "Yes." He said with extreme tiredness. "I do...."

"Then I wasn't able to get what I wanted out of you?"

"You never told me what you wanted..." He said with the same tired and broken tone. "You never did..."

"What if the current me told you now?" I asked while walking up to him. "Would you answer?"

"That would be good....." He said with the same tired and empty tone. "To the best of my ability.... I'm tired of this.... room....."

"Tell me about the witch and what comes after arc 5." I said with a serious tone. "Then the pain will stop."

Letting out a huff, he looked towards the wall with cloudy eyes. "THAT'S what you wanted to know? Why didn't you just ask b-before..... before that?!"

He then straightened up in the chair and let out a groan as the chains dug into his tender wrists. And when he was straightened, he met my eyes and began to speak. "To begin, I don't know anything about Satella. By that, I mean where she is sealed and how much power she currently has."

"And I should believe you?" I asked while motioning my head over towards the tools. "That you mean what you claim?"

"listen....." He began carefully. "You know how one tracked Satella is with her mind. So can you believe me in saying I don't know anything about her?"

humming, I put a hand up to my chin before laying my eyes on him again. "I suppose I'll listen to you first. But after that, I'll decide on what I want to believe. So go ahead and start talking 'Arthur'."

"As I was saying, I don't know anything about Satella. The only thing I do know however is that she brought me to this world with the sole purpose killing you."

She did however promise me that she would take me back to my world after your death. But unfortunately.... I failed."

"Why didn't you just kill me once you saw me? Wouldn't that have sped up your mission?"

"I have never killed anybody." He said with a tired tone and meet my gaze once again. "I guess I held off to find a good REASON to kill you. But your 'kind act' made my thoughts on killing you extremely conflicted."

"But it was just an act of course." I said with a grin which made him grimace in visible regret.

"I should have just killed you as soon as I saw you..." He said in a serious yet quiet tone while looking down. "I wouldn't be hurt if I did....."

Using unseen hand, I lifted his head to look towards me and my calm smile. "You're getting off track 'Arthur'. Continue where you previously left off."

Letting go of unseen hand's grasp on his head, he jumped a bit in shock before quickly speaking with an afraid tone. "T-That's all I k-know about S-Satella. I-I swear!"

"...." Gazing at his current state in silence, I cam to the conclusion that he had just returned from a 'session' with another me. "Move on to the stuff about Arc 6."

Looking up with panicked eyes, he immediately began to give me a detailed explanation about Arc 6. Noticing how he wasn't giving me a little summary of it, I assumed that another me had roughed him up for doing so. Anyways, I just calmly grabbed a chair that was in the corner of the room and sat down to listen to him.

Listening to his words certainly did make me grimace a bit. I could tell that he couldn't remember 'all' of it. But he was certainly telling me 'core' details that will make this world a lot more 'complicated' for me. By the end of it, my attitude had become extremely negative. Everything I have heard so far just told me one thing and one things only.

The game has changed entirely and it's going to be a harsh change too.

"That's all I swear!" He yelled at the end of it all and began to breathe heavily as he didn't pause much in-between details. He even began to cry silently as he looked towards the roof of the room. "That's all..."

"I see." I said calmly before getting up out of my seat with a deep frown. "It certainly isn't ALL of it. But I can see that you can't tell me anything else."

"...."

Looking down at the pitifully crying figure of this 'child', I started to walk over towards the rack full of tools. Hearing my foot steps, he immediately shot up and looked towards me with panic. "Wait! N-No... N-No More! No More Please!"

Grabbing a hammer and a long but thin iron stake from off the shelf. I used Unseen Hand to keep Arthur in check in case he decided to commit suicide. I then kneeled in front of him and spoke in a calm tone. "Don't worry Arthur. I keep my promises. But I'm afraid you won't lose 'just' pain when I'm done with you."

"N- MPHMH" Clamping his mouth shut with Unseen Hand. I used other hands to keep his head straight and lined up the metal stake in between the top of his eyelid and eye. Arthur feeling the cold iron touch the inside of his eyelid tried to thrash around.

But Unseen Hand did wonders in holding him completely still as I proceeded to raise the hammer to the stake.

*Tap*

*Tap

*Tap*

And with three quick taps, the stake went into his head severing connections in the brain's prefrontal cortex. This effectively removed Arthurs ability to feel emotion as he calmly lied back in his chair silently. I then took out the nail completely severing whatever it had touched.

Stepping back, I looked down at the silent and empty eyes of Arthur and sighed deeply. Walking over towards the rack, I put down the tools in my hand and left. I then silently made it up all the steps and stopped at a dead end.

Closing my eyes, I augmented them to sense mana and od and looked through the wall. Seeing nobody outside, I calmly pushed a stone inside of the wall next to me before pushing the dead end softly.

*click*

Hearing a click, I pushed the wall open and stepped outside. Once out, I simply closed the door and listened for another click.

*click*

Once successfully closed, I took one last look towards the wall. Sighing, I moved my gaze towards the window and noticed that it was night. Seems I will be getting a scolding from Rem tonight. Thinking of Rem brought a smile to my face as I began to walk towards my room.

Oh yeah before I forget.....

Looking back towards the wall, I calmly spoke to nobody but myself.

"Good night Arthur."
