Chapter 1 - Deleted

'It's cold… too cold. I can't bare this coldness.' Ye Beom blinked her eyes. She roamed her eyes around, when suddenly;

"What… the hell…?" Dazed with what she saw.

Still sluggish as she just woke up, her sight is still not that good. She tried to it up, but failed as she felt an overwhelming pain on her neck. She winced.

"Y-Ye Beom? You're awake— ah, dear! Don't! Your neck is not in a good condition." Said the old woman.

'This voice!' Her eyes widened. Slowly, the old woman walked to her bed closely.

"Grandmother…" She muttered. The said grandmother just smiled at her, but her eyes says different. Ye Beom's lips curved, her eyes on verge of tears. "Grandmotheeeer…" her voiced wavered.

The grandmother just continued smiling at her, when…

"Aigo! Don't you call me grandmother! You rockheaded child! Aigoooo!" Ye Beom's grandmother kept on hitting Ye Beom's legs by her bare hands.

"Grandmaaaaa!!~ WAAAAAH!! I… I… I missed you grandmother!!" Ye Beom wept.

"What do you mean by you missed me, huh? Aigo! You went all the way from Canada to here just to take your summer vacation! You did not even told me! Then I would suddenly receive a call from your mother that, Dianne told them you went missing!" Ye Beom's grandmother scolded her.

Ye Beom gasped in realization as her eyes went wide. "Grandma… how long has I've been gone missing?" She asked.

"Hmph! Yesterday was supposed to be the third day." The clueless grandmother answered.

'I have been gone missing for three days? Just three days? But I… I stayed there for about three months, so how? Well, not that it doesn't make any more sense, since I myself went inside my novel.' She thought to herself.

"Was that so grandma? Laughs… And by the way, I never considered Alex as my mother. She'll never be." She added.

"But Alex is still your mother, Ye Beom… no matter how you despise her." The grandmother insisted.

"I don't give a care about that. Dad died right after they got married." Ye Beom snorted.

"Your father died two weeks after their marriage." Grandmother Dae Hee restated.

Ye Beom looked at her with a questioning look on her face. "And what difference does it make? He still died not far away from when he got married to that woman."

"She's your biological mother!!—"

"I do not care who she is!! She ran away, and left me to you and dad when I was born! The one who took good care of me was Hyo Rim!" She huffed in frustration.

"How dare she come back to father and say that she would want to make it up to me. What a jo—"

PLOP, PLOP, SPLOOSH!!

The startling sound caught both the attention of Ye Beom and grandmother Dae Hee, that put the two of them to stop on what they were talking about earlier. The can of soda that the lad was holding, spilled on the floor.

"Oh… I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to barge-in and to overhear your conversation. I-I deeply apologize. I'm sorry." The voice of the lad wavered. "I'll… I'll go find a janitor. I'm sorry."

There was a brief moment of silence, right after the lad spoke. Completely at loss of words, of what to say to the lad when he come back. It did not took any longer than two minutes before the lad came back.

"Here, thank you." The lad directed the janitor where to sweep. Right after that, the janitor silently left the room. "Uhm—"

"Oh, Ye Beom… I forgot to tell you. There was a group of youngsters near the cliff that you were found at, and he was one of them." Grandma Dae Hee introduced. "Come, come… don't be shy. It's all thanks to you!"

"Ah, no. Not at all. We weren't the first one on the site. There was an old couple who found her first, it just so happened that the old lady came to us for help too. Hahaha." He nervously laughed as he scratched his nape.

"Still, thank you. How could I ever thank all of you?" Grandma Dae Hee started to sob.

"Don't worry about that ma'am, it is alright." He comforted grandma Dae Hee.

"Ah, by the way… My name is Ryuji. Ryuji Michaels." He then extended his hand to Ye Beom.

When he suddenly withdrew his hands hesitanly. "I… I forgot that you won't be able to move comfortably for quite a while. I'm sorry, that was—"

"It's Ye Beom. My name is Ye Beom. And don't be sorry about it, it's not like 'twas your intention, right?" Ye Beom ended with a smile.

Ryuji's mouth gaped at Ye Beom's remark. 'Was that supposed to be a reassurance or… a sarcasm?' He sighed.

"Hmm?" Hummed Ye Beom. A confused look was plastered on her face. "Is there something wrong, Mister Michaels?"

Ryuji just stared at her blankly. He tilted his head and then blinked several of times. As if trying to process what Ye Beom just called him.

"Oh, did that make you uncomfortable? Then, Mister Ryuji?" She asked clueless.

Ryuji flinched. 'S-sir… Ryuji? But she looks like about the same age as me.' He sighed once again. "You don't really have to call me 'Mister', y'know?" Then Ryuji faked a laugh.

Unfortunately, Ye Beom did not picked-up what Ryuji was hinting and continued.

"Then… Sir Michaels! That shalldo it, right? Ye Beom beamed a wide smile.

Though her smile was pure and genuine, it still hit a nerve on Ryuji. He is now half-annoyed. Ryuji shut closed his eyes tightly, then he sighed; "What I was trying to say is that… wait how should I put it up into words? Hmm…" He paused as he puts his right hand on his hips, tilting his head as he puckered his lips to the side.

"Right! What I was trying to say is that, since it looks like we are on the same age, then you really don't have to keep up with the formality." Then Ryuji grinned.

"Ahh… Is… that… so?" Ye Beom falter, unsure of her reply. "Then, you can also just call me Ye Beom."

KNOCK KNOCK!

A loud knock was heard from the door. After that, the door creaked open. The sound of the door opening, caught the attention of the three. They all both turned around to look at the one who just came.

"Oh, you youngsters came already! Come, come! Sit here." Welcomed Ye Beom's grandmother.

"Ah... ma'am will it really be alright? There's a lot of us in the room." The flustered Ryuji asked.

"Yes, yes. It is alright, besides, I'll feel forever in debt with all of you." Grandmother Dae Hee told them with such an affectionate tone. "Shouldn't you introduce them to us, young lad?"

"Right! Haha. I almost forgot. This one is Kim Haneul, Kim Eunji, Andrei Browns, and Seo Yoonwoo." He paused. "And truthfully speaking, it was Yoonwoo who talked to you and told us what to do when you were laying half-unconscious." Ryuji added.

"Is that so?" A smile formed on her lips. "Thank you very much Mr. Yoonw—"

Her eyes widened as her mouth gaped. 'My heart hurts so much. Why is that? He really look so familiar yet very unknown to me. I have a feeling that I have met him even before the accident. Way, way, way back. When is that?'

"Dear..." Whispered her grandmother. Then she took a glance at the two— Yoonwoo and Ye Beom. "Ye Beom, my dear... is there something wrong?" Grandmother Dae Hee asked.

"Huh? Ah, oh no, nothing. Hahaha." She nervously laughed. "It's just that, Mr. Yoonwoo here seems... oddly familiar." She said as she forced a smile.

"Is that so? Ahaha... I was thinking kind of the same, haha." Yoonwoo chuckled.

"Ah... He laughs exactly like someone I know, his name is Tae..." Ye Beom's smiled faded slowly. "Tae... Tae? Huh? Nevermind hahaha. I don't really recall his name. Anyways, thank you very much!" Ye Beom smiled.

'Weird... Who was I even talking about? Tae, huh? Tae...Min, Hyung, Yoon, Woo? Taejin, Taehan? Taegoo—'

"Tae...joo?" She blurted out, out of the blue.

SPLAAASH!! The can of soda spilled into the floor.
