Chapter 24 - Chapter 23

Isabelle was running down a steep slope. Of all the participants, she and her group were the most distant. Their opponents were also the strongest – vampires. But that didn't mean they were running away from fear. On the contrary, that was their plan.

Luckily, Isa had teamed up with Lucas. When they first saw their enemy who was the Vampire Commander, they immediately tried to come up with a plan.

The Commander was very tall, with as long as the eagle's claws and sinister predatory pointed teeth. His face was as pale as ceramics, and his skin looked just as hard as the mineral. He was wearing a long coat in pure black, and his eyes were lit up in the tone of red with the colour of mahogany.

His army was of the same sinister monsters of Darkness.

At the beginning of the battle, our heroes did not notice a small, but important detail – next to the Commander stood a little girl with long raven black hair. Her skin was also as white as porcelain, and her big eyes were hiding her great power.

As soon as Isabelle saw her, she had an idea. She went straight for the little girl and chased her. She didn't mean to hurt her. Just to distract her father, the Commander.

And so, she had found herself on the steep slope. She had achieved the desired success. The Vampire Commander went crazy when he saw that his child was being chased and sent most of his soldiers after Isabelle. And so, the soldiers surrounded her from everywhere.

Lucas didn't think at first that she would do that, and now he's looking at her and wanted to go after her to protect her. But unfortunately, he had to take care of the Commander first.

As crazy as her plan was, it was still very logical. They fought against the strongest opponent and they had only two Fire benders – Lucas and Camille. Isabel was the third able to fight thanks to the relatively strong for these circumstances – the Earth element.

The others were Sabrina, who fought with her little sword, and Teresa — she had gone to seek help because of the weakness of the Air Element in this unbelievable hard chaos in which she could barely breathe.

Isa's idea was to draw all the opponents into the valley below the slope – as far away from the Commander as possible. Then she'd be thinking about how to deal with so many opponents.

For the moment, she was most worried about Lucas. At the moment he was the only one who was fighting against the Commander. Camille's power to control the light did not work because of the great space, and for this, she also possessed only the element of Fire. She couldn't help Lucas, and she was just trying to keep the Commander's pawns from disrupting their battle by interfering and hurting him.

Isa kept looking at him with her eyes wide open. These frequent looks back were tripping her constantly and she could already feel the bruising form on her legs.

Thanks to the Air Element on her father's side, she was quick and climbed and well experienced in tough situations and was fast wherever she wanted. It was a huge plus against strong and superhuman beings.

The little vampire was also quick and light, and she was rushing down the slope, just in the direction Isabel wanted.

She was still wondering how such a monster of Darkness could have a child. She felt guilty that she had to use the innocent child in such a way, but it was the only weapon to fight the Commander. She tried to calm her soul with the thought that they were monsters and that they deserved it. But it didn't help much.

She had finally arrived at the desired place – far enough away from the others.

'Well, you won't be able to hurt them anymore,' she thought in her mind.

The girl tried to harness all her strength to deal with her opponents. She created a wall so the soldiers couldn't escape. And the child Isa surrounded in a dome so that she couldn't move from her place.

She pulled out her two diamond blades and attacked. She stuck her knife-edges in their hearts and in the head, as she was taught at school.

It was the first time for Isabelle to see these strong enemies live, but she tried to abstain from the fear. She was just attacking. Every blow she took was devastating for her opponents.

She felt like the vampire army was numerous. She had already been dripping with fatigue and her legs were hurting inhumanely strongly, but she didn't give up her goal.

The little makeshift cage for the vampire child was shaking all the time. It could be heard how nervous the little beast was. It had now acquired an even more monstrous species.

Her nails had become even longer. Her eyes, which until now were so innocent, were now bloody red. She was menacingly hissing and shaking the cage. It was amazing that it ever withed her punches.

Her small body did not suit her strength at all. On the contrary, her power was as big as the force of 200 men.

Isabel couldn't help but feel her little predatory gaze following her every move. This further stressed her out and at times slipped barely inches away from her opponents' punches.

Vampire bites and scratching were their strongest weapons. Only if they hurt you even a little bit, they would turn you into one of them. Against your own will, your whole soul becomes a captive of Darkness, and there is no turning back.

That's why everyone was afraid of them: the vampire transformation was more devastating than death. Apparently, that's why the little vampire was always looking at Isabelle: to distract her and her people would destroy her.

But our strong heroine wasn't giving up this easy. She was responding to each blow twice harder. She wouldn't let anyone hurt her.

Otherwise, her thoughts were busy with different things. This helped her to stop noticing the eyes of the predatory child.

'At least this time you're helping me mentally, silly. I hope that you are doing great too. You have to deal with the toughest opponents while I gain you time by fighting the weaker ones. I will protect you,' she was thinking. She couldn't believe that he, right in this crazy moment and only he was in her head.

But she couldn't think about how and why she was thinking about him right now. All she could do was fighting and those strange thoughts were her support to keep fighting.

She spotted an inch from the makeshift cell one of the vampires. He must have been trying to free the Commander's child. Isabel couldn't let it and threw his blade at him.

But the weapon, instead of hitting the planned soldier, hit the little vampire daughter.

'Oh, God...no. I'm sorry, Lucas. I couldn't get you enough time' Isabelle thought. She was already anticipating what was going to happen.

The child screamed in pain. Her scream scatted all the air. The scream was so piercing that could have been heard it for miles.

The Vampire Commander also heard his daughter's cry. He screamed just as piercingly in response and jumped to the slope. As much as Lucas tried, he couldn't stop him. All he could do was chasing after him to protect Isabelle.
