Chapter 25 - Chapter 24

"The First Kiss

The sweet scent of the Destiny

Shared to reach the heart and

To connect the Souls.

Sometimes it is the only thing

That can save the loved one.

This sign of Love Is the first step

To the most precious

And desired Road

Of the future."

- a very special poem for today's chapter

Lucas couldn't believe his eyes. Isabelle had jumped recklessly into the unknown. Now their strongest enemy was running straight for her.

The boy has been fighting for a long time with his big opponent moments ago. He knew that the Vampire was much stronger than the norm. He was going to destroy Isabelle as soon as he saw her.

Unfortunately, Lucas wasn't that fast. At least not enough to get in the Commander's way. Their enemy was running like a madman to his wounded screaming child.

They were already very close to the valley, and the Commander had a big lead. Lucas couldn't catch up with them in time.

'Isa….no! I must protect you! Whatever the price is. I will not allow my closest and most precious person to be hurt!' his face was covered uncontrollable in tears. Out of anger, his tears were set up in flames.

He opened his eyes, and they glow furiously in orange and gold. Flames burst out of his hands and formed like metal chains. He swung his hands and the chains fired him a few feet forward.

Isabel's frightened face was right in front of him. Her eyes were flooded. Her short hair was blow-high by the light wind formed with Lucas' coming. The boy landed and immediately hugged her tightly.

That's when the Commander swung with his long claws. There was a strong sound of tearing the skin.

Lucas screamed in pain. He could feel the Vampire's venom all over his body.

He could sense his wounded right hand initially getting stronger and more inhumane. This power spread all over his body.

He felt a thirstiness. He was dying of thirst. Thirst for blood. He could feel all his mind vanishing little by little.

He felt Isabelle's warm scent. He had previously distinguished the smell of tender lilies, fresh yarrow and saturated mint. But now she was even more tangible, even stronger and sweeter.

'No….I….I can't hurt her! I won't do it for anything in the world! Even if I die from this thirstiness!' his taught was like a whisper. But still didn't give up his goal.

He stepped away from Isa and pushed her as hard as he could. He looked at her. Some of his humanity was returned for a moment. There were tears of blood dripping down his face.

'She…she fears me….and so it should be. She must go out of here right now! Come on, Isa! Leave me alone before it's too late!'

Isabel was crying and praying for him. Of course, she was scared, too. She knew what such monsters could do even if they were good and dedicated to their lives until seconds ago.

But the girl didn't run away. She couldn't leave him. Her heart wouldn't let her. Lucas had done so much for her. He had saved her a second time and was now paying the price of his life. This time she was going to save him.

Isa got closer to Lucas. He sneered and stood in one place. Iza took his face and looked him straight into his blood-stained eyes. She smiled warmly.

Lucas was stunned. At first, he wanted to hug her and cry in her tender hands. But he felt that the monster in him was waking up. It started to float wanting to free itself. Lucas felt he could jump up and hurt his most precious person at any moment. He wanted to back off.

But Iza wouldn't let him. She took a deep breath and kissed him. Lucas' eyes were wide open. He felt the softness of her delicate lips.

Their kiss was soft and gentle, full of life and hope. Lucas hugged her tightly and didn't want ever letting her go. He wanted to feel her lips forever.

His lungs, which until now had barely received oxygen, were now filled with warm air. He felt he could breathe normally again. Lucas stopped shaking and felt a great wave of reassurance and new power.

It was not as evil as the old one but as pure and good as Light itself. In his mind, he saw a gem that had majestic orange and gold glare. The stone lit up even brighter and Lucas' eyes shone in the same shades.

The ground around them shook. He was still kissing the girl. Against his wishes, their lips parted. Тhey were breathing heavily.

Iza stepped away from him still in tears and smiled. He answered her smile and rose in the air. Strong flames surrounded him and formed into whips of pure metal.

He swung at his enemies, and sparks flew from his weapons.

Several of his enemies were hit by the powerful weapons but still stood on their feet. That's why Lucas' eyes lit up even brightly and there were flames on his whips. The blaze set all the soldiers on fire.

Then the boy focused all his anger at the Vampire Commander. From the beginning, his opponent resisted, but he could not overcome his new strong chains. The metal surrounded the monster in a strong breathtaking grip.

The fire smoke rose again past the Vampire. He began to scream in pain. All his fellows, including his daughter, joined his cry. The fire burned him like the scorching the Sun itself.

But despite the terrible circumstances, the Vampire laughed.

"Hahaha! You may have beaten me, hero, but don't forget. Don't forget, my blood is flowing in yours now, my strength. And nothing even a sacred blessing can save you from this curse. You're one of us now." his laugh was beastly.

He choked on a heavy cough and fell to the ground disappearing like ashes. Their worst enemy was defeated.

But Lucas didn't want to feast. His eyes were wide open. They were like wild creatures' eyes. He was going to lose all his control.

'I...will always be a monster…but I can't hurt her…I just can't…' he looked stunned at Isabelle. She was gently smiling at him. The boy realized that he was feeling unbelievable strong love towards her… and probably was finally realizing…but his taught was interrupted.

Lucas heard roars down the battlefield. The boy directed all his new strength in the creation of metal wings. As soon as they covered his back, he looked like an angel. It was a little hard to move, but he would still get to the source of the roar quickly this way.

He flew low above the ground and took Isabelle on his hands. She was looking at him. The boy was like in a trance. Yet he was gently holding her and rose in the air. He heard her breath sneer and smirked a little.

He felt so alive. Like a flying bird. The power of the metal was already flowing through his veins. But he was still feeling uncontrollable pain in his right hand. Part of his soul couldn't stop rebelling and wanted to destroy the girl in his arms.

But he didn't do it. Even if it was going to kill him, he couldn't imagine hurting her. That's why he'd find another place to spend his desire for battle.

They were already above the place. Just below them, some of their friends fought the pride of golden lions. His brother was fighting the Commander.

Lucas swung harder with his wings to catch their attention. Axel and the others looked at him as if he had fallen from the sky. Well, he was in the air, he couldn't blame them.

The boy approached the ground in a slightly safer location and left Isabelle. He had to go through an internal struggle to leave her and step away from her wonderful scent.

Again, he rose high in the air to see all the opponents. From his hands, bonfires were shown and formed in the already familiar metal chains. Lucas pointed the whips at one of the lions at the speed of lightning. It got stuck in the enemy like a blade and tore up the precious metal like it was just a piece of paper.

He pointed his whips at a few more opponents and they were finally diminished. He was going to help his brother. But Axel and Sophie worked in perfect tandem and the monster was on the verge of strength. Together they inflicted the last blow, and their last enemy was on the ground with all their pawns.

Lucas smiled slightly, delighted with the powers of his brother and his girl. He felt dizzy as if he was sick. He slowly landed down, and as soon as he sensed a mud under his feet, he fell to the ground in a state of ness. The last thing he saw and heard was Isabelle's worried face and her frightened cry.
