Moniqua opened the door to the interrogation room, which is just one of the classrooms. She sat down and looked at Detective Bassi.
"Ms. Quesada, we asked you this morning if you saw anything unusual. Any updates?"
"No. But I could've been drunk."
"How old are you?"
"I'm 18. That's legal."
"Right. What were you doing when Dominique Yang and Lucifer Williams fought?" Detective Bassi asked.
"I was with Scarlett and Caroline. Scarlett had just told Dom that Angelique was talking to Luca," She explained.
"After you all went back to your dorms, did you see or hear anything?"
"No, Ma'am. I went back last with Scarlett because we were cleaning up and we didn't hear or see anything."
"Did you go outside at all?"
"No, it was cold and I didn't want to ruin my outfit with a jacket."
"Did you see anyone go outside?"
"I saw Scarlett and Isaac go outside. I don't know what they're doing though."
"That would be all, thank you," Bassi nodded, confirming she could go.

"Ms. Vesper, Ms. Quesada saw you and Mr. Calloway go outside. What were you doing?"
'Damn it, Moniqua.'
"We were making out."
'Shit. Really? That's the best you could come up with?'
Detective Bassi's eyes widened, "Making out?"
"Yes."
"That was before or after the fight between Mr. Yang and Mr. Williams?"
"After. I couldn't possibly miss Luca and Dom fight. They always amuse me."
"Mr. Calloway told me he went outside to get some fresh air."
"Well, you found one liar," Scarlett raised an eyebrow.
"Ms. Quesada also told me that you both cleaned up after the rest went back to their dorm rooms, did you see anything?"
"No. But I was a little tipsy, so if I did, I could've forgot."
"Did you see anything outside?"
"I don't know. Would you see anything when you're making out with someone like Calloway?" Scarlett sassed.
"I wouldn't know. I never tried it." Bassi bit back. Then she sighed and motioned to the door.
Scarlett exited and walked over to Isaac right away.
"Tell her we went outside to make out," She told him.
"What?"
"Just do it. Moniqua slipped something out and that's the best I could come up with."
Isaac sighed, "Made out, that's the best you could come up with?"
"You do know that's our usual spot, right?"
Isaac growled at the memory. That was also the spot they fought many times.

"Mr. Calloway, you lied to me."
"Well, sorry for not wanting the police to know that I had a drunk make-out session with my ex."
Bassi sighed, "Did you see anything outside?"
"No. All I could see was Scarlett's green eyes and red lips."
'These bastards are made for each other,' Bassi thought.
"Alright, get out."

"Zachary Wang, you are called Saver for a reason so you better save us here. Did you see anything last night?"
"Nothing unusual, detective."
"Mr. Wang, does the name Alexandra Collins ring a bell to you?"
'Alexandra Collins?'
"I don't think so, Ma'am. Was it supposed to?"
"We did some research about her and it turns out she was an intern in your father's business a few years back."
"Oh, I must be young back then. Why are you telling me this information?"
"No reason. We just needed to know if you remember her."
Zach nodded in understanding.

"Look, I know what you're going to ask."
"So are you going to answer them?"
Lucifer sighed, "No, I didn't see anything unusual last night. I fought with Dom because he thought I was about to fuck his sister. I went outside to smoke some weed and still didn't see anything. We done here?"
"Why were you sent here so young?"
"Why's it your business?"
"We need to know."
"My dad doesn't like me around the house. He named me after the devil because he hates me. Do you want more?"
Bassi sighed and told him to get out.

"Ms. Yang, what happened during the fight between your brother and your boyfriend?"
Angelique laughed, "Oh no, Luca's not my boyfriend."
"He's not?" Bassi asked.
"No. We just flirt with each other to get on my brother's nerve."
"Why?"
"Well, even though they don't show it, Dom and Luca care for each other a lot. And he's my brother."
"Did you see anything unusual last night?" Bassi changed the subject.
"No."
"Did anyone else see anything unusual last night?"
"Not that I know of."
"Thank you. That will be all."

"Ma'am, I don't understand why you're wasting your time here."
"Sit down, Mr. Yang," Bassi ordered and Dominique sat down. "Did anything happen that's unusual?"
"No," He said. "Who or what even led you here?"
"The report said she was sent here yesterday and was supposed to get back last night. Her car was also spotted a few blocks down."
"So did you not think to check around there?"
"Why would she be there? The job, according to the reporting company, was here."
"A lot of people stray from their job," Dom shrugged.
Bassi nodded, "We'll keep that in mind. You may go."

"Ms. Vesper, Mr. Calloway, we decided to bring both of you in this time," Bassi said.
"Why?" Scarlett asked.
"Because, we find you both to be the most suspicious," Bassi accused.
Isaac laughed, "Suspicious? We were making out!"
"No one knew what you were doing from the lack of security cameras around the building."
Scarlett glanced at Isaac, "Look, Detective, we understand that you may have some suspicions but we were just making out. And even if we did see anything, we were drunk."
"See, the problem is that you both can lie very well," Bassi said before pulling out a lie detector, "So we brought this in."
"A lie detector?" Isaac said while Bassi put it on him, "This is so useless."
Bassi said, putting it on Scarlett, "Perhaps, but it's what we got."
"And if you find out we were not lying?" Scarlett asked.
Bassi shrugged, "We'll move the search a couple blocks down." She turned the detectors on and looked at them intently.
Isaac looked at Scarlett, no emotion on his face.
"Why is it doing that?" Bassi said, gaining their attention.
"Doing what?" Scarlett asked, brows furrowed.
"Your heartbeat picked up," Bassi told Isaac.
"Well, it's broken," Isaac said, reaching out to his detector.
"No, it's not. You must know something or else your heartbeat wouldn't have picked up."
"I don't know anything!" Isaac defended.
Scarlett looked at him, her brows furrowed in anger. 'You're ruining it!' She thought.
"Tell me what you know!" The detective demanded.
"Isn't it clear? I'm still in love with her! Of course, it will pick up!" Isaac snapped.
"You're still in love with me?" Scarlett looked at Isaac, her face softening.
"Now, yours is picking up too!"
"Of course, I am," Isaac said before clearing his throat. "But we broke up. The feeling will wash away in time."
Isaac looked away from her hastily. As if he was scared that he'll fall more and more in love the longer he looks at her.
Scarlett cleared her throat, "Of course. Well? Do we need more, Detective?"
Bassi sighed, "No, you may leave."

"How'd it go?" Moniqua asked Scarlett once she came out of the interrogation room.
"It was alright."
Moniqua raised her eyebrow, "Alright? Scar, I outed you and Isaac in there!"
"I know. And it's okay. You slipped out, it happens," Scarlett defended.
"Well, what did you say?" Caroline came over. Moniqua had told her everything after she got out.
"Nothing much. Turns out, feelings mean nothing," She said roughly, daring them to say more.
Caroline cleared her throat, obviously tensed before changing the subject, "Well, what did she do in there?"
Scarlett sighed, "She brought up these lie detectors and Isaac looked at me. His heartbeat picked up. Can you guess the rest?"
She plopped down on her seat on the table. By now, it's time for dinner, and Scarlett and Isaac are as bitter as ever.
"What's got you so riled up?" Dominique asked as soon as he saw Scarlett.
"Nothing," She shook her head, her black hair whooshing through the air.
"Nothing?" Isaac asked annoyedly. "That wasn't nothing, Scar!"
"It meant nothing to me!" Scarlett snapped at him.
"Then why are you so bitter about it?" Isaac said, his voice rising.
"I'm not!" She slammed her hands on the table and got up. "I've lost my appetite."
Everyone around them could feel their love-hate relationship as strongly as they could 2 years ago when they were on the verge of their final breakup. Everything calm and teasing about them was like the calm before the storm. They all knew that it was only a matter of time before one of them breaks and admits to the other that they were still in love.
They ate in silence, leaving Scarlett alone. Even Caroline knew that she needed some alone time. She's never seen Scarlett this pissed off at anyone since someone catcalled her and her friends.
Isaac hasn't shown that much emotion in over a year so when he started fighting with Scarlett again, it left a startle. Kaiden, as a new kid who started going to Charis last year, has never even seen Isaac show emotion. Then again, they aren't that close.
As soon as Isaac finished his food, he left the table in silence, everyone assumed that he was going to his room but he's heading to Scarlett's room.
Isaac knocked on her door, with the usual 2-2 knock, a sign that it was him.
"Go away!" He heard Scarlett say, her voice quivering so he knew that she had been crying. She was never one to let people know when she was sad, the only people who even seen her cry is Isaac, Caroline, and Lucifer. Though Lucifer saw her cry when she was like 3 so that doesn't count.
He turned the door handle to see if she locked it. She didn't. He hesitated before pushing it open to see Scarlett curled up in the corner of her room, her green snake, Boss, circling her. It hissed at him before he walked over to her.
"Scar," He started. "I didn't mean it like that."
"Like what, Isaac?" Scarlett stood up. "That feelings just wash away in time? Well, guess what? It's been 2 years, has it washed away yet?" Her tone was harsh and sharp, pricking needles in his heart.
"No, I wouldn't be here if it has," He said, sitting down on her black couch. Scarlett followed suit, sitting down beside him.
Isaac reached out to grab her hand and turned to look at her.
"I still love you," He said quietly, evident tears in his eyes threatening to slip out.
Scarlett looked at him in the eyes, searching for any sign of lies. When she didn't see any, she grabbed her hand back.
"Well, I don't," She lied. Of course, she loved him. You can't be just friends with someone you once fell in love with. Sure, the feeling fades but it never disappears.
"We both know that's not true," He said, standing up. He reached his hand out, "C'mon. Let's go somewhere."
Scarlet grimaced before taking his hand. Together, they walked down the building and into the forest, Scarlett's heart thumping more with every step they took.
