"Wait, you want to record a goodbye video for Nathan? Can't you tell him goodbye yourself?" Paul remarked.
"Yeah, I agree with Paul on this one. Out of all us here; you're the only person who can talk some sense into him Roxie." Landon added.
"Look at this point Nathan is not going to want to see or even listen to what I have to say. Besides, once Nathan finally comes to his senses and decides that he wants to talk to me; I'll probably be back in New York busy working on getting my story published," Roxie explained. "Guys I need to do this video because if I don't, I'll regret it for the rest of my life." she sighed.
"If I may, Roxie does have a good point. Ever since she's been here, Roxie and Nathan have developed this deep connection with each other and for Roxie to just leave things the way that they are right now wouldn't be right for the both of them." Annie stated.
"Then I guess we have no other choice. Alright Roxie, how would you like to record this video to Nathan?" Cassie asked. When Roxie had heard this, she suddenly smiled and walked over to the media room with the others.
Once the group had finished recording Roxie's goodbye video for Nathan, the six friends walked out to Annie's car that was parked on the driveway at the front of the house.
"Well, I guess this is it then. Tomorrow you go back to New York." Calvin said.
"Hey, this isn't the end of my time with you boys. I promise I'll do what I can in New York and the minute I get a decent break; I'll book my first flight back here to the UK to see you all again," Roxie promised. "Now, come on over here and give me a hug before I embarrass you three in front of Cassie and Annie." she instructed. Paul, Calvin, and Landon chuckled and hugged Roxie one last time. When Roxie finished hugging the boys; she went and hugged Cassie. Cassie then started to cry again and all of a sudden, Roxie silently started to shed a few tears with her. Cassie then started to giggle and gently wiped away Roxie's tears. Roxie then waved to the four of them while she walked to the passenger seat of Annie's car. Before she got into the car, Roxie quickly turned around and looked at the house she had called "home" for the past 3 months. Roxie then sighed and got in Annie's car and the two girls were off, leaving the life Roxie had known for the past 3 months behind her. What Roxie didn't know was that up in a single window facing the left side of the house; Nathan was silently watching the girl of his dreams leave him forever.
When Paul, Calvin, Landon and Cassie went back inside the house; the four of them decided to head to bed since it was getting late into the evening.
"What should we do about Roxie's video for Nathan?" Landon asked Cassie and Paul.
"Have any ideas?" Paul asked Cassie.
"I was thinking of leaving the tablet here with a note for Nathan to play the video. I've got a strong feeling Nathan might come out of hiding tonight." Cassie yawned.
"Sounds like a good plan to me. Well, I'm off to bed." Calvin stated.
"Right behind you mate." Landon added. The two boys then went upstairs to their bedrooms to sleep.
"Well, that was easier than I thought," Paul chuckled. Paul noticed that Cassie was being extremely quiet as she was sitting down on the living room sofa. "Are you feeling ok?" he asked as he sat next to her.
"I don't know, I just know once tomorrow starts; it's going to be our first day not having Roxie here checking in on all of us and I have no idea how we're going to handle it." Cassie sighed. Paul understood why Cassie was acting like this. Her best friend had left her side again to go accomplish a dream that has been in the process for some time now. The only difference was this time Cassie was in full swing of getting her singing career started. Not to mention Paul and his band mates had finally started working together as a group again. And it was all thanks to the help of Roxie's determination.
"Do you want to know what has helped me these past few weeks?" Paul asked Cassie.
"Landon's sarcasm?" Cassie guessed.
"No, but I'll admit some of Landon's jokes have made me smile. It was actually what you said on the day we all found out that Roxie was going to head back to New York. You said that no matter what happens; me, the lads along with Annie and Tom have to be happy for Roxie and support her decision on going back to New York for the sake of Roxie and Nathan's relationship. And I'll admit; it's going to be tough with not having Roxie here with us, but we're going to get through this time without her." Paul replied. Cassie nodded and agreed with Paul's statement. Cassie then rested her head on Paul's shoulder and just laid there for a few minutes while Paul comforted her. After a while had passed, both Paul and Cassie were slowly falling asleep. So the two colleagues decided to go to bed.
As the night went on; the house was quiet with the sound of silent snoring from the bedrooms. However; in the attic loft, Nathan was struggling to fall asleep. All Nathan could think about was the way Roxie stared at the attic loft window along with the image of Annie's car driving away from the house; taking Roxie away and the fact that Nathan will never see Roxie ever again. More than anything; Nathan wanted to be by Roxie's side again and just be near her. All Nathan knew that he was going to miss hearing Roxie's laugh, the way the sun light would brighten Roxie's brown eyes but more than anything Nathan was going to miss seeing Roxie's beautiful smile and hearing her voice again. Growing frustrated; Nathan decided to head down to the kitchen to drink either some water or milk to calm himself down. As he was walking over to the kitchen, Nathan made sure to not make so much noise since the others were fast asleep. Once Nathan had successfully made it to the kitchen, he opened the refrigerator and just stared blankly at all the cold items that was stored in there. Not being satisfied with either water or having a glass of milk; Nathan decided to make himself a cup of tea. Nathan found a tea bag of chamomile tea, boiled some water in a teapot and patiently waited for the water in the tea pot to warm up. While he was waiting for the water to boil, Nathan noticed the tablet and note that was left for him on the kitchen counter. Nathan then read the note that was near the tablet.
"'Please watch my video'-Roxie." Nathan silently whispered. Nathan then turned on the tablet and went to the video camera icon that was on the tablet's main home screen. To Nathan's surprise, the first video that he saw was Roxie's goodbye video for him. Nathan instantly wanted to watch Roxie's video, just to hear Roxie's voice; but before he pressed play the teapot started to whistle making Nathan jump with panic. Once Nathan had finally caught his breath, he walked over to the kitchen stove, turned off the burner, got a mug and poured himself a nice hot cup of chamomile tea. Once Nathan had gotten his cup of tea; Nathan took the tablet along with his tea up to the attic loft. Once he had gotten into the room, Nathan walked over to the desk, plugged in his headphones and silently watched Roxie's goodbye video while Nathan drank his tea.
"Is it recording? Ok; hey Nathan! Um, I know that the two of us have been very distant lately, and just so you know I'm going to try to record this video without crying; but I just wanted to let you know personally that the fact of me leaving the UK and going back to New York has nothing to do with you. Anyway, ever since I've gotten here to the UK, you and the boys have known about my life long dream of becoming an author and the fact that my dream is finally coming true; it makes me happy. And deep down I know I should be excited and overjoyed about all of this, but the truth is I'm not because I have to face the harsh fact that I have to leave my new life I've made here in the UK behind. And it kills me that I have to do this because you and the boys mean the world to me. You boys not only became my new bosses, but you guys became a part of my life that I will never forget. I will hold the special moments that we've shared close to my heart forever."
"You may not have known this but before I arrived at the UK, Cassie gave me her demo CD and she thought that it would be a great coincidence for me to bump into you and me being the stubborn-headed responsible person that I am thought it was a crazy, yet stupid idea. One being that there was no freaking way I was going to give my own best friend's demo CD to an irresponsible drunk popstar because let's be honest; that would be ridiculous. But that changed when I walked into your aunt and uncle's pub that one stormy night and I'm so thankful and grateful that I ended up over at The Smouldering Hog that night. You brought a new light in my life Nathan and I'm forever grateful for the time we spent together. Thank you for everything; I love you." Roxie said.
