CHAPTER 20
More years had passed, I finally remember my true identity and my true name. I can't say that I completely remember everything about myself since I can only recall my name and what I look like before but not everything about my life.
I was only eight years old when I transmigrated here without any knowledge about myself or my previous life's relationships aside from some basic things and an adult mind. I can still feel a childish nature since I am an eight-year old at that time after all.
In the next two years, I finally unlocked my gift at the age of ten. The thought of the possibility that I am giftless makes me want to bang my head many times in my wall. I thought that my life plan of graduating at the academy and having a successful business of my own will only remain a dream.
My gift is what they call "Negation gift" which can make any gift or magic useless against me but at the same time it is totally USELESS since I can't do anything else. It is considered rare but nothing else.
Regardless of it being useless, I'm still contented that I have a gift and that my life plan to be in luxury will come true!
I'm already fifteen years old now since it is already five years since I unlocked my gift. Only two months left before I enter the Bogdan Academy, I just want to graduate quickly but I guess it's no fun if I didn't enjoy being there. By the way, my older brother David and Arthur who are both seventeen years old, already entered the academy when I was thirteen years old.
I'm here today outside my room's balcony to enjoy the air outside, I deeply inhaled the manor's fresh air before I heard Sara looking for me.
"Young miss?"
I can hear her soft voice from my room's door even though I'm quite far from it.
"I'm here!"
I yelled for her to hear my voice. She went inside my room peeking at me.
"Young miss, are you ready?"
She asked me.
"Coming!"
I told her before heading downstairs with Sara following behind me.
The two of us are almost at the same height now. To think that I used to only be half of her size and now she's only a few inches taller than me, I can't wait to grow more. Anne used to be the tallest in our circle of friends but now we are on the same height that she's panicking now, her mother told us that she can't go to our weekly tea party since she's having stomach pain after drinking gallons of milk to grow taller.
"Took you so long"
Mother told me in dismay after she saw me heading outside.
"Sorry mother, I'm enjoying the fresh air in our manor since I only have two months here..."
I sighed giving her a downhearted look.
"I understand...you will be joining the academy soon, after your brother's summer vacation...you two will leave to enter there together"
Mother is not really a showy person but I know that she feels dispirited at the thought of me going to the academy and living in the dorms. I grin and hug her from behind.
"Don't worry mother! I'll send you and father a lot of letters so you won't miss me~"
She gave me a 'Really?' look before she flick my forehead using her middle finger and thumb.
"Ow!"
"I'm worried that you'll do trouble there again...that's what I'm worried about"
Oh mother, even though how much you deny it...I know that you're actually going to miss me.
"Don't forget me sister! write me letters too!"
Dahlia patted my back to remind me that I should also send her letters. I put my hand on the top of her head and caress it.
"Of course! I won't forget my little sister!"
Even though I really forgot to mention you earlier. Sorry Dahlia.
"I love you, sister!"
She tackles me into an embrace.
For a thirteen year old, she's really tall, I'm only a few inches taller than her. I'm afraid that she'll grow taller than me in the future. In the past, Dahlia really likes to drink milk and sleep early at nine in the evening while me on the other hand likes to sleep at midnight and is not a fan of milk.
"Let's go, your brother will complain again if we're late"
Mother went inside the carriage, me and Dahlia followed her. My own carriage is already broken since my brother tried riding one three years ago and ended up breaking my carriage, instead of telling him to buy one. I told him to give me money instead and he agreed that's why I already have a few money in my bank account.
The banks here are quite cute though since every person has their own vault. When you reach thirteen, you can already have your own account.
We're actually going to go to the academy to pick up our brother since father is using the other carriage now for his job. Father is a very busy man but he became busier when the emperor chose him to work under him directly which is a honorable job for a count which makes me wonder why the emperor suddenly wants father to work under him directly, maybe he finally recognized father's talent! I'm so happy for him since he looks like he was about to cry from joy.
We do this picking up brother thing every summer vacation. He can go home anytime he wants but all of us are advised to stay in the dorms and can only go home when it is summer vacation and holidays. Some nobles who's house is close to the academy can easily go home.
Dorms in the academy are very expensive so poor nobles can't afford there. Those poor nobles who can't enter the academy are forced to work from the school like a scholarship. The emperor was said to be giving scholarships to those who applied to be funded but the emperor is really picky in his choices so only few can enter by scholarship.
"Are you excited to enter the academy, sister?"
Dahlia holds my hands and asked me excitedly. She looks more excited than me.
"A little bit..."
I told her. Whenever brother sends us letter, he complains about the feeling of being a prisoner since he can't go out because of the large gigantic fences there than even a titan can't easily enter since it is so big and has a magic detector that can detect if someone is escaping.
"I see...I wonder what brother looks like now!"
Dahlia wondered closing her eyes. I'm sure she's also thinking of Arthur, I'm not used to having a little sister in my life and a big brother since I only have two younger brothers in my past life.
But ever since I transmigrated here, I came to think of everyone as my true family. I really feel like a younger sister of David now and an older sister of Dahlia.
"How about you mother, what does it feel like entering the academy?"
Dahlia turns to ask mother next.
"Me? Well...I'm a daughter of a well-off noble but since I came from a viscount family, I'm not really recognize by many people"
"How did father and you met?"
I asked mother.
"You see...me and your father met at a banquet, my father introduce me to the former count's son who is your father. At first I hated him since he is so clingy that I punched his face in anger then we met again in the academy calling me 'Miss Punch Girl' over and over again which made me a laughing stock. After he tries to bother me more, he went on our mansion to propose to me while I was sleeping...I thought it was a joke at first so I kick him in the face and I was annoyed back then since he disturbed my sleep. Either way...after everyone saw that aggresive side of me, they try distancing themselves from me, he was the only one that remains by my side...so I ended up getting married to him"
She sounds pissed at the first half of the story but in the end, she smiled remembering father and her lovestory.
At first, it makes me wonder why my parents who was opposite in personalities ended up together.
Will I also find someone like that?
Just then, Arthur flashes in my mind again.
Ack! Go away!
Stop trying to ship me with him!! I only see him as an older brother figure to me, okay?!
"Do you have a love rival there, mother?"
Dahlia asked mother.
"I...I do...but that's not what's important right now! We are not really in speaking terms now"
So even mother had a rival huh...

After about three hours, we are finally here infront of the Bogdan Academy. A lot of carriages are here, probably picking up their children for summer vacation.
"Brother!!!"
Dahlia who puts her hand right on tbe top of her eyes to scan brother when she saw him and quickly run towards him.
"Ah! You're here?"
David looks happy to see us. Like last year, he has some friends with him. Arthur is also there, probably waiting for the marquis and marchioness and also Anne.
"Delie, why don't you greet your brother too? I'll just talk to the headmaster for your confirmation in the academy, just wait for me outside"
"Yes, mother"
Mother told me before going inside the academy. I already have my application for the academy and only needs a confirmation.
I looked at my brother and Arthur, man they really grew well. They are quite tall too, I saw them in a uniform last year but I can't still get used to it. They look good anyway.
Last year they were wearing a red necktie, now they are wearing blue ones. It actually depends on what year you are, red is for freshman, blue is for the sophomores, green is for juniors and yellow for the seniors.
"Whoa! David! Your sisters are so pretty"
A friend of David went to greet us first before we can even come close to them as soon as he spotted me and Dahlia.
"Hey! Knock it off!"
David stops his friend in approaching us.
"Say...do you have someone you are seeing now?"
The boy went to me to reach my hand and tries flirting with me.
"Say what?"
What the heck? Is he flirting with me?!
"By the way, I'm singl-"
His sentence was cut off when someone karate chops his head from behind. It was Arthur with an emotionless face but threatening aura.
"Ouch, Arthur?!"
"..."
He didn't say anything and just whistle looking at a side.
"Don't tell me..?"
The boy looked at me again with suspicious eyes.
"Light brown hair and light brown eyes...are you perhaps Delie?"
He asked me narrowing his eyes.
"Uhh...yes I am"
"I see! So that's why Arthur stopped me! Because I'm flirting with a girl he likes-! Ow!"
Before he could finish again, Arthur chops his head once again. His face looks like he was about to kill him if he says more.
So Arthur has been telling his friends about me? Is he telling them that I'm the girl who rejected his proposal five years ago? Ha...ha...
"Your parents are waiting for you"
Arthur pointed to a near carriage using his eyes.
"Fine, I'll stop! I'll go home now! See you guys after summer vacation"
He caresses the bump on his head before walking away from us.
"Nice to see you, Arthur!"
Dahlia happily greeted Arthur.
"Nice to see you, too"
Arthur replied to her nodding without a smile before looking my way.
"Nice to see you, Delie..."
I can see a small faint smile from him. I can feel my heart beating faster again, uhhh...why does he have to be so damn attractive?!
"Nice to see you too, Arthur"
I tried forcing a smile. I feel so awful for rejecting him! He is a perfect boyfriend material (except that he lacks emotions in some area) I'm lucky enough to be proposed by someone like him!
"Brother!"
Someone jumps behind Arthur and we saw Anne hugging his brother from behind.
"Anne!"
"Father and mother went inside to meet the headmaster for my enrollment! I'll be going here soon too! I saw you talking to Delie that's why I went to surprise you!"
Arthur patted his sister's head like how a sweet brother should do. Why is my brother suppose to be like this?
I looked at David who looks obviously bored and so done with life.
"What are you looking at?"
He gave me a slight glare when he noticed.
"Nothing"
Uhhh...
Anne and me talk about the new upcoming BL novel that the same author of "Pure Love" and "Shattered Love". They said it was a BL novel about two nobles from different enemy empires similar to 'Romeo and Juliet' called "I'll Fight Empires for you", pretty corny for a title but I have high expectations for this novel.

After mother went from inside the academy, we finally headed home. David immediately went to his room and lie on his bed before sleeping right after.
"Young miss, young master Kayle is here to see you"
Sara knocks into my room while I'm resting after the long trip from the academy to inform me that Kayle went to visit me.
"Kayle?"
"Yes! With little young lady Kaylette"
Wahhh! Kaylette!! I miss Kaylette!
I immediately went down the large stairs to greet my cousin.
Kayle was in the living with a little girl beside him sitting in the sofa.
"Deli-"
"Kaylette!!"
I ignored Kayle and went straight to Kaylette.
"Sister!!!"
She raised her hand for me to lift her up in the sky and hug her for being so adorable.
"Don't ignore me!"
Kayle demanded to me.
Oh yeah, I have a new cousin! Aunt Illiana gave birth to a healthy little girl she named after Kayle, her name is Kaylette and she is the four-year-old sister of Kayle. She has aunt Illiana and Kayle's turquoise hair but has the marquis An Theodore's dark green eyes.
And you know what? Even though Kayle has a little sister he can dress up with, he still enjoys dressing up himself like a girl as a hobby. People who doesn't know him really thinks that he is a girl whenever he dress like one since he has quite a feminine face.
"Delie..."
Aunt Illiana who looks healthier than ever greeted me.
"Mama!"
I put down Kaylette and she went straight to aunt Illiana to be carried by her.
"Aunt Illiana! What brings you here?"
"I'm just going to talk to my sister about the academy...you and Kayle will be entering at the same time, right?"
Aunt Illiana told me and I nodded.
"Anyway, please take care of Kayle when he goes to the academy...I just hope he won't do any trouble there too"
"Mother..!"
Kayle looks embarassed.
"Alright!"
I giggled.
"Don't agree so quickly!"
He told me.

While me and Kayle are walking in the manor's garden. Dahlia went to meet with her friends while brother is still asleep and snoring like a horse in his room. Mother and aunt are talking about important things about the academy.
"So? Are you excited about the academy?"
I asked him waiting for his answer.
"Hell no"
He straightly told me looking pissed.
"Why?"
"'Cause I'm going to share the dorm with some annoying boy losers and I don't want that! On top of that, I'll saw some funny looking faces too"
Whoa, he is really mean huh...he still hasn't change. He said that he'll see funny looking people there which means that he thinks I'm not like that? He is quite a good boy to me...
"Except you though, I'm used to seeing your face"
Okay, I take back what I said! I'll shave this guy's hair!!
Come to think of it, unlike before we used to be the same height but now...he's half a head taller than me and he might grow more soon too.
"Why are you looking at me like that?"
I can saw a faint blush from his face when he noticed me staring at him hard.
"I just thought that you look so grown up now! You are not the baby boy I used to know!"
I heard a 'tsk' from him and he quickly grab my arm.
"What's the big idea? Are you going to teleport me now?"
He didn't speak and just gave me an annoyed look.
"Too bad, it won't work on me!"
My negation gift will stop your teleportation gift! So you can't teleport me!
"Who said I'll teleport you...?"
He trapped me on the wall behind me using his other hand.
Is this...? The clichè wall slam technique?!
"I'll show you that I'm not a baby boy anymore..."
He gave me very serious look that I gulped.
How did we even end up like this?!
