Ground trembling, trees falling, and the horizon is kicking up thick clouds of dust in the air covering an area of hundreds of kilometers. From afar one can hear the loud roaring of hundreds of thousands of beasts.
Above a tree hiding within its thick leaves is a figure of a man. Looking down from about he watches as the man he is chasing a while ago suddenly stopped.
Then suddenly he saw a large snake appearing. The giant snake and the man suddenly fought against each other, but the man is not strong enough to defeat the snake.
Then it happened, the snake attacked and Curt immediately threw out the silver needle. As the needle was inserted at the neck of his target, he saw him unable to move. With a wide smile on his face, Curt just watches as the snake pounces against the man. But he didn't dare stay in this place, because he could already feel the strong vibe of the rampaging horde of beasts.
Curt quickly moved and soon arrived at the front line.
"How was it? Is everything prepared? How about the soldiers?..." Vipercrown asked with concern.
The commander on the other hand standing beside them had a solemn look on his face. Although he already expected the worst, yet his eyes could not deny that he still hoped that his soldiers are still alive.
Curt's silence already confirms everyone's fear. The demolition squad did not make it.
"As soldiers, they are already heroes…" the commander said as he set his eyes ahead of them.
Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!
The loud rumbling sound on the horizon was suddenly heard by everyone. Then suddenly it happened.
Ka-boom!!! Ka-boom!!! Ka-boom!!!
A series of explosions from the points marked by the soldiers shook the ground. Though the troops are a few kilometers away from the explosion, they could still feel the ground trembling.
"The… the explosion seems too much don't you think?" asked one of the soldiers.
"Did they put too many explosives?"

Hearing the soldiers discussing Melissa looks at Curt with an inquiring gaze. Seeing her expression, Curt just shrugs his shoulder.
"Take cover!" shouted someone.
When they all look up, everyone could see the guts and parts of the beasts affected by the explosion raining all over the place.
They were all stupefied at this scene. Even Curt who set up the explosion while putting on an extra fire talisman in that area was also surprised.
"Everyone! Fire at will! Fire at will!" the commander suddenly shouted.
From afar, they could already see the tall head of some of those powerful beasts that were not affected by the explosion.
Curt also takes out stacks of talisman. This time, he moves above the trees and before anyone could notice him, he grabs a tree bark and with one pull almost broke the whole tree in half. Then he quickly crafted long javelins and pierce them on the side of the tree branch he is standing on.
He takes out a single talisman and pierced it at the tip of the javelin. Then he positioned himself and throws the javelin with all his might towards the sky.
Like an arrow, the javelin flew high up in the sky. After he releases the javelin, Curt formed hand seals and the tip of the flying javelin suddenly started to glow. The javelin suddenly flew above higher and higher towards the clouds.
Then suddenly it happened. Dark clouds started to gather in a matter of seconds forming a small whirlpool and then after a few seconds, flashes of thick lightning suddenly descended like a heavenly punishment to all mortals.
Boom! Rumble! Rumble!
The thunderclap that follows almost made everyone drop to the ground. They all look at the sky in fear. Before they could feel calm, they soon realized that it was just the beginning. Curt himself was a bit taken aback by the force of that lightning.
"This… this lightning is a little thick, right?" he thought as he looks at the first purple lightning strike.
Then suddenly, he feels the hair on his entire body began standing up. This gave him a bad premonition. The range of the lightning spell that he calculated was a bit wrong. Since the LEP energy is very dense and rich, the reaction of the spell is 10 times stronger.
"No… Everyone! Retreat! Fall back! Now!" Curt shouted in panic.
Hearing his words, the rest of the espers who are sensitive to the LEP in the air has already felt the bad premonition so they also decided to fall back.
"Commander, we must go now or we won't survive this," Vipercrown advises the commander who seems to be at a loss.
Hearing his words, although a bit reluctant, he could not sacrifice more of his men. So he decided to issue the command to fall back.
As the troops began falling back, bolts of purple lightning suddenly began raining from the skies. The loud rumbling sound echoed through the entire forest making the hearts of those who hear it shiver in fear.
The rampaging beasts were not able to detect the danger, except for those larger ones. However, how could they escape the radius of the rain of lightning?
As they hit each other in panic, many small beasts fall to the ground and were flattened by those following behind them. And those large creatures at the front could not run as they are being blocked by those behind them. The chaos that the lightning rain created was so devastating that it killed almost half of the horde before the lightning even strike.
And when the lightning strikes down, the rest of the beasts that survive were burnt to a crisp along with a large portion of the forest area.
Curt is still looking at this scene with his jaw almost dropping on the ground. In his memory, this kind of lightning strike is only an initial attack and he would focus on using fireballs. But who would have known that such a thing would happen?
Soon, those who were able to escape the lightning strike are already fleeing in fear. As they notice the line of humans not far from them, they began to pounce in that direction.
"Fire! Fire at will!" shouted the commander who was the first to recover from the shocking scene.
The machine guns and rifles began to rain towards the surviving smaller beasts. However, those behind them are already burned into a crisp.
As the battle began, Curt did not join in and just watches from above a tree. Those are just small beasts that we're able to escape the rain of lightning because they are at the front of the horde.
However, they are still many and almost uncountable.
"Retreat! Give a cover fire!" the commander shouted.
The vehicles began retreating but no stop firing. And soon, the whole advance troops reach the defensive perimeter set by the city.
There are still many who chases after them, but no beast was able to penetrate their firing line. As the gunfire slowly died down, everyone could already see the multiple numbers of dead beasts all over the place.
Seeing that the crisis was averted, they all suddenly thought of that mysterious lightning and wonder who was powerful enough to conjure such a power.
But the person responsible for such an act has already returned to the burned forest which is still filled with static electricity.
Curt did not want to waste more time in this place and immediately search for higher-level beast cores. Before returning back, he could already see the soldiers and the espers doing the cleanup job. Since he didn't want to attract more attention, he just hides his aura and quickly runs back to the city gate.

The next day…
Curt opens his eyes after the whole night of absorbing LEP energy from a beast core. Before he could stand up, he suddenly heard a knocking sound outside his door. When he opens the door, he was a bit stunned to see Jenny Mae standing outside.
"Ah… Sorry, I just… I just woke up…" he said with a little panic in his voice.
But one of the brows of Jenny Mae rose upon hearing him saying that he just woke up. This is because she could tell and even smell that sweet scent from his body when he opens the door. That scent seems to have attracted her attention a little.

This is one of the rare occasions as she is able to visit his house. In their relationship so far, she has come to his house five times. He could not even visit her as she did not want him to.

Jenny Mae wanted to stop him, but then she suddenly remembers the breakfast she had before when she was here on his birthday. The meal that day was very delicious and she felt excited to taste it again. However, her expression turned complex upon remembering that hug, and then she erupted in anger.
Seeing the figure of Curt happily and expertly cooking, the corner of her mouth subconsciously arched a little.
Meanwhile, deep within the forest, a giant snake slowly slighter away with part of its body blackened as if it was burned by something.
However, its stomach is a bit bulging as if it has eaten too much. As it slithers away, one can tell that it was in pain.

Then several holes suddenly burst out of its stomach as dark red blood began gushing out.
And then a huge spherical blood ball burst out from its stomach. As it rolled on the ground it suddenly bursts. And from inside the spherical blood ball, a figure of a man came out gasping for breath.
With his skin burned by the stomach acid of the snake and the foul odor emitting from his body, the figure looks like a blood person.
"I… I… will get my revenge." He muttered as his eyes went red.
With the anger he held in his heart, he lifted his head high and shouted to the skies disrupting the already peaceful forest.
"Aaahhh!!!"
