…
Inside a monitoring room, a tall woman with pale skin wearing a white suit and a ponytail stood watching what is happening in the restaurant. They have already noticed that many of their units seem to have vanished without a trace and those who were sent to check the place out also did not come back.
With a knitted brow, she carefully checked every monitor inside the hotel and those they have also added afterward.
However, it seems that there is no trace of anything that is happening at all.
"Unit ten, come in… you are approaching the private room hallway, right? Please proceed to the northeastern corner." She suddenly said on the radio.
Upon hearing her words, three men look at each other, and with a stern look on their faces, they nodded.
"Roger that boss. We are proceeding there now." one of them said on the radio.
Three people are on the ready as they carefully walked towards the private room hallway area to the northeastern corner. Since the restaurant is a big building with two floors, excluding the basement, and many private rooms, there are many possible places to hide.
But everything is already devoid of people as it was previously been sweep by the terrorist group. Everyone was sent to the huge freezer in the basement. They didn't care whether those people would live or die as the group would just use their lives to threaten the government anyway.
As the three fully armed men slowly enter the hallway, the woman who is currently monitoring their location suddenly frowns. She immediately picks up the radio on the side and called.
"Unit ten… are you in the location already?"
'Roger that boss… we're already here nothing is unusual, over.'
After hearing those words, the woman showed a panic-stricken face. She didn't know why but what she is seeing right now is just an empty hallway without anyone on it. And this gave her a really bad premonition.
"Unit ten, come in… please fall back! I repeat, please fall back! she shouted on the radio but then what she could hear are static noises.
No guns fire, no fighting, and just pure static noise as if some ghost is on the other side. This feeling made the woman feel Goosebumps all over her body.
Suddenly a group of men and women enters the room. From one glance one can see a domineering aura surrounding these people and that air of power seems to undulate around their bodies.
The woman turns towards the group and a wide and awkward smile appears on her face. As the leader of the group, she has been assigned to lead this group of espers to get a hold of some potential hostages. As this is her task she didn't ask their command and just followed them.
The first phase of their plan was successful and has caught the esper that was supposed to be one of those who have joined the defense at that time. They would keep that esper and then try to convince her to join their cause. If she joins then it would be a strong addition to their force, however, if she doesn't then they would not hesitate to dispose of her.
"It seems that you are having some problem… leader." She suddenly heard a scornful tone coming from a man.
Hearing that voice and that tone, the woman immediately frowns as an expression of annoyance can be seen on her face. Since the mission has started this man has always challenged her authority. She knew that the man is a powerful esper in fact he is more powerful than she is. However, she was chosen as the leader because of her ability to command and not because of her power.
"Bromite, Feline, Synthesis, Ale'bo, Bender… I'm glad you are here. Instead of just idling around, why not try to catch the person giving us some problems." The woman said with a frown.
"Hahaha… Myst, oh Myst, although you are the leader of this mission, that doesn't mean we have to be under your command. I'm not interested in this. I will just go out and hunt some beast. Now that would be more fun. Hehehe…" Bromite said with a scoff while turning around and walking out of the room.
"Hehe… me too, sorry leader. I'm just not interested anymore. Fighting against a normal person is not my cup of tea. Plus the esper here is not that fun, she is weak. One whiff of Synthesis plant and she is down, what a letdown." Feline said as she turns around while twirling her long hair tied in a ponytail.
"Me too!" Synthesis also said as she chases after the two.
Myst's expression turned ugly as she glared at those three who went away.
"How about the two of you, aren't you going to leave?"
"Haha… Well, I'm here to complete the mission so, I'm not going."
"Yeah, I'm just here to see what's going on."
Ale'bo and Bender said with a wide grin.
Myst just raised one of her brows at the two. She already knew why these two has stayed, but she didn't mind. She felt something is amiss with this new and unknown enemy of theirs, so she needs all the help she can get.
…
In the dark hallway, three people suddenly appear from a corner. With weapons on the ready and a domineering esper in the middle, the group advances while surveying their surroundings.
"This is Ale'bo… I'm already in the area. But I can't see anything…" Ale'bo said on the radio as his group carefully moves forward.
Then suddenly from the end of the hallway, one of them noticed a shadow that suddenly turn around and ran away.
When that guy noticed that, he immediately taps Ale'bo and the other guy and gestured to the two that he saw someone from the end of the hallway.
With a smirk on his face, Ale'bo suddenly pointed his palm to that area and a ball of water slowly formed, then with a wave of his hand, he threw it towards that corner.
Splash!
The water ball broke and the water suddenly spread on the floor. Suddenly in Ale'bo's eyes, a slight glow appears and then he saw in that instant a figure of a young man who is standing against a wall. That young man is not wearing his clothes but instead covered it on his mouth like a 'ninja'.
From the looks of that young man he seems agitated and in a panic.
With a smirk on his mouth, Ale'bo chuckled.
"Hahaha… I think we have a… choker… fellas. Hey, little boy, you've been playing hero all along. It's time that you should know the consequences of being… a hero."
The two along with him also laughed sarcastically as the three slowly approaches the corner.
Suddenly before they could turn to a corner…
Bzzt! Bzzt!
'Hey, Ale'bo what are you doing? Where are you now?' said the familiar voice of Myst on the other end of the radio.
"I'm already here at the northeastern hallway…" Ale'bo said as he looks at the camera and waves his hand.
The two with him also shifted their gaze to the CCTV camera.
Upon doing so, the two also waved their hand unconsciously. Upon doing so, the three suddenly froze as they noticed a figure standing in front of them with his hands crossed and calmly looking at the three like he is looking at some idiots.
"Oh, no…"
Those are the only words that Ale'bo could say as he suddenly felt his body suddenly stiffening. This immediately made him show horror on his face. As water attributed esper, he is familiar with the water LEP in the air. And from the flow of the water-energy, he is sure that those water particles are freezing in a rapid manner.
So before he could activate his power, he already discovered his body freezing and then his consciousness disappearing. The two beside him were also frozen and did not have to react before they became ice statues.
At first Curt did not think that his plan would succeed as it is hard to freeze a moving target especially in a place where there is no cold temperature around. However, who would have known that the three would suddenly stop and then turn around. With that, he knew that his plan has succeeded.
Curt didn't waste time and just grab the necessary bullets for the rifle and handgun already in his hand. He didn't dare grab another weapon as those would just be dead weight as he ran through this hallway and ambush his enemies.
Meanwhile, inside the monitoring room, Myst suddenly slammed her fist on the table.
"Damn it! Ale'bo is down…" she said while gritting her teeth.
However, a smirk appears on the mouth of the man watching the monitor behind her.
"That guy is pretty interesting, however, it's not that easy to kill Ale'bo. He might be a douche bag and has a mediocre skill, but his ability to escape is top-notch. It is not that easy to kill him. I'll go and check out this new enemy in the shadows, let me see how strong that person is…" Bender said as he turns around and walks out of the monitoring room.
Suddenly Myst eyed a particular area and her eyes suddenly turned into slits. She didn't want to just wait in this place. Before the local government would act, she needs to secure the success of their mission. So after Bender walked out of the room, she turns to the two people sitting on the computer tables.
"Watch everything in this place. Notify me for anything that happens." She said as she took the specially costumed handgun on the table and walked out of the room locking the door behind her.
The two people, who were left inside, just gave each other a glance and then continue watching the monitors.
…
Meanwhile, inside the freezer, after Curt left, a figure has forced himself to cut the rope trying his hands with much effort. He is also an esper but still a student in the Esper College. But it seems that those people knew his identity and has blocked his meridians.
However, he saw what happened at the door. Unlike most people in this place, as an esper, he is already conscious just like Jenny Mae.
And then he was surprised to see a young man doing something and two armed terrorists freezing after, then he took their guns and walked out. What surprised him the most are those papers that the young man sticks to the ground, the door, and the ceiling. Plus the temperature from where he is, right now. If this is a freezer, it should be cold, right? However, it seems that there is something wrong.
Along with that guy, another one is also already awake but is still struggling to remove the rope trying her hands. And right now, Jenny Mae's mind is in a bit of a mess. She didn't know why, but she seems to think that Curt is hiding something from her.
