ERICA
Every one of my friends has been asking for my whereabouts and my absence from school. I could tell I have scared some of my friends of thinking if something horrible had happened to my family. Everybody thought I was kidnapped by a bad guy or something like that. All of them know my family business is big. The idea of being kidnapped by an enemy of my family business is pretty logical, but no one knows from the school knows that I am from a whole line of mafias and comes with magical powers.
It's impossible to capture me not unless the person knows my weaknesses and has magical powers.
I gave in a sigh and I was thankful for some of my friends to give me their notes to make up the missing classes I have to make up for.
Now, that I am back in school huge crowd of students had surrounded me and I haven't had the chance to talk to Camila.
I can't help staring at her in class. She still looks as beautiful as ever. She's my first love and I don't I can ever forget the love I have for her.
She always twirls her hair around when she is thinking. She is so easy to read and the thought of it just brings a smile to my face. I stared at her until she caught me staring at her which was very rare. She never noticed that I looked at her all the time from the back seat. I was just glad that Fay isn't here in this period to witness me staring at Camila. I don't want to betray Fay, but first love are hard to move on from.
I waved in a small hi before she smiles shyly back at me then continues with her biology workbook. I sighed and looked back down to my biology workbook. I took Emily's notes and stared at it. How shall I solve this problem?
Before I can finish solving all this problem the lunch bell rang and eagerly everybody rushed out of the room and handed in their workbook onto the teacher table. I was a little hesitant to do so. Missing two weeks of class wasn't a smart thing to do.
While everybody headed out of the room Camila and Emily stayed behind waiting for me to eat together with them. I needed to fetch Fay from her class. Today is just the first day of school for her. She is someone who is very shy she won't approach anyone unless someone approached her first.
I was eager to put my workbook in between the pile of books everybody handed in so my biology teacher won't be reading my work first. I was afraid that she'll criticize my assignment for not being as good as before. I was always the role model for the class, but I am not sure anymore. The pressure is high.
"Erica," Mrs. Manni said before I and friends can walk out of the classroom.
"Yes, Mrs. Manni," I replied turning around.
"I would like to have a word with you," she eyed at me before her eyes drifted to my friends and they understood.
"I'll catch you guys later," I said to Camila and Emily. "Please tell Fay I'll be a little late."
"Yea, sure," Camila smiles before the both of them walked out of the classroom leaving me with only my biology teacher.
Mrs. Manni sighed before closing the door. "I guarantee you're not in trouble Erica," she spoke in a deep dutch accent which I was surprised she usually speaks in a pure American accent. Why did she choose to hide it? Something screamed danger and I let a little of my power slipped out of my body and I could tell she felt it. She is not a normal teacher.
"Calm down, Erica. I am from the Aztec Family. I used to serve your mother, Elena."
"Prove it," I asked.
She pulled the mafia ring out of her pocket and into her finger. When the dead black stone turned red and had an A written on it only then I relaxed. She is without a doubt from the Aztec family. If the ring didn't show any reactions to her then I would have killed her instantly.
"I guess they were right what they said about you," she smiled. "Cold, beautiful, and dangerously smart mafia befitting to become the next boss of Lumia."
"Get to the point, Manni," I pointed out.
She laughs. "Cold, Erica. You are cold. I prefer this side of you better than wearing that sweet mask of yours in front of your friends. I was assigned by the Aztec to keeping an eye on you for a very long time to see your progression and to report it back to both of our families. It was just recently, that the Aztec family had granted my identity to be exposed to you."
"Why?"
"For such a young child to be in this situation must take a great toll on you, young Lumia." I hated being called that. She reminds of Chione too much for the way she talks. I didn't hesitate when I summoned a tiny shard in the room and slice the air like I sliced a little of her cheeks she didn't dodge but gladly took the risk. A little blood ran down her cheeks but she didn't seem to care and something weird happened in less than a few moments her wounds started to stitched themselves together like it never happened before.
"I am sure there are other ways to kill an immortal," she replied taking a serviette from the desk and wiped the blood away. "But Erica if you want to go and eat a peaceful lunch with your friends then listen to me. Micah is not here to play games with you. She is serious about you and the Aztec family doesn't know why she is going such lengths to get you, and that is why we need your cooperation."
"I don't need your cooperation. I can deal with this on my own."
"And that's what they all say," she rolled her eyes.
"Why do you need my cooperation?"
"Because Erica we believe that the Arcana Family possessed something we are all looking for. The Scrolls of Mother Earth. The Relic of Gaia."

Before I walked towards my friends with food in my hands I saw Fay having fun with my groups of friends. I was actually happy that she had gotten along with Camila and Emily this will do her good. I was afraid that she would be uncomfortable here on the first day of school. She is quite the introverted type.
When Fay's eyes caught me she raised her hand up for me to find them easier in this crowded canteen. Everyone here is still going in and out not that I mind. I was always the tall girl that stood out in the crowd. I don't know if it is the Lumia blood that runs within us that makes us stands out from normal people or is it just that in our birthright that we have inherited this kind of attraction.
I shook all the information out of me and headed over to the empty seat beside Fay that all my friends saved up for me. "So what's the trouble?" Emily asked.
"I have to make up for the test that I missed for two weeks," I said. Manni was careful. She had made the perfect excuse to say to my friends so that they won't suspect me and find out the truth of my family. Though it wasn't really an excuse Manni is in fact my biology teacher besides being a mafia. I really needed to make up for the test.
"When?"
"Next week Wednesday," I said.
I bite into my salmon sandwich which I normally order. It tastes delicious as always. Fay was leaving out her olives in her salad all the time. She hated the tastes of olives. She grabbed a spoonful of the olives and placed it up to my lips. I open up my mouth and took the chunk into my mouth savor every mouthful that Fay gave me before swallowing down my throat. I smile.
"Ok stop you two are showing too much PDA," Emily complained.
"Get a boyfriend and you'll end up doing the same thing as me," I replied. She blushed which perked up my attention. "Or do you have someone you have a crush on?" I asked judging her expression. I laughed when her face got even redder.
"Who's the guy?"
"It's not a guy," she whispered barely audible. I thought I heard it wrong.
"Sorry," I asked again.
"I said it's not a guy!" she said embarrassed.
I smile. "No need to embarrassed. You've got me as your bisexual friend here."
She nods. She scratched her lower chin before talking. "Her name is Nikki." I nearly choked on my drink.
"Nikki the school bully?" Camila questioned.
"She's not a bully she just doesn't know how to express herself well."
I nod. "Hmm... I can see that."
Emily pouted, but I didn't say anything. I wasn't a good person as well. I am a Lumia, an assassin. Nikki is way better off than me. So I didn't say anything, but Fay just stared at us listening. She was becoming silent again, but that's alright. It's good to rest sometimes. I could tell she was already tired. It's her first day in this new school and she'll have to adapt to it.
I am happy that she is in this school with me so that I can watch over her, but if what Manni is saying is true about the Scroll of Gaia being in the Arcana Family hands. Then I am worried plus adding Micah in. The problem becomes more troublesome.
The Scrolls of Gaia somehow involves Micah. Then I need to play harder to get in order to buy time for Aztec Family assassins to get more information on that mansion. If there are really some gods working behind the scenes then why are the greeks gods need host to hide in? There was more to this than meets the eyes, and I am willing to lend a hand to the Aztec Family to gather more information about the scroll.
At the end of the day, Fay and I walked Camila home since she lived nearby and I am used to doing that every day for Camila to ensure her safety. Afterward, we headed home. I was drowned in sweat that Fay doesn't even want to get close to me. However, I do like to tease her with it like hugging her and then make her shower with me.
She likes to have privacy, but now her body is my privacy.
When we arrived at my house a loud scream broke out of the house and it sounded like my father. I rushed to where the scream from and headed into my father bedroom. My mother yelled at my father.
"Lorenzo!"
My father was suffocating. His face was becoming black. He was breathing hard.
"It's Poseidon," Chione said in my head. "He is trying to claim your father's body."
"What should I do?" I asked Chione.
"The same thing he did to you."
