CHAPTER V: Wait
It's been what? Two days since he asked me out and up until now I haven't received any text from Cameron, not even once.
Is he some sort of a scam?
Thank God, me and Ty made up already and somehow, for the first time since the quadrangle incident, I felt at ease.
"Astrid Blaire, what do you think you are doing?" Ty said with surprise.
It's Friday night right now, and that means… It's movie night!
It's actually a family thing but since our father died, mom stopped seeing movies with us. Seems like she's avoiding everything that kept on reminding her about the memories with our late father.
So, instead watching at the living room, I have decided that we should watch at Tyler's room because he has a complete TV set and he has a lot of DVD movies in his room. But mind you, Ty didn't know about this that is why he was surprised seeing me here in his room.
"We will watch here." I said casually.
"Did I prohibited you to do that?" he asked as his eyebrows creased.
"No. But can we please watch here? So that right after the movie, we can go straight to sleep." I said with puppy eyes. I hope this time, my puppy eyes would work.
"Argh. Fine." He surrendered in defeat.
Yah! My puppy eyes works every time! It never failed me huh?
"What do you want to watch?" he said as he scanned through his DVDs.
"Your choice." I answered as I made myself comfortable in his bed by lying down.
"Okay then." He said as he played his chosen movie on the DVD player.
I'm waiting for the movie to play when my surroundings turned to black. I was about to call Ty when I felt him beside me. So instead of calling him, I decided to just ask what he played instead.
"What movie did you play?"
"The Conjuring." He said as he smiled sheepishly.
"Ty! You know I'm not a fan of horror movies!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, I know. That's why I chose this." He laughed hard.
I sighed.
This is not good. I can be easily scared just by the sound effects. Well, I can just cover my eyes and ears but with Tyler's sound system, I can't just avoid the sounds.
One jump scare came and my body's reflexes acted quickly. I turned to Ty and buried my face in between his neck and shoulders and started punching his chest. He didn't even bulge. Instead, he just laughed mockingly at me.
What a great brother.
I just turned to the other side and started hugging a pillow. I also plugged my ears with my earphones and started playing music. I maximized the volume to not hear any sounds from the movie.
Ugh. I hope I can sleep soundly with this.

I opened my eyes when I felt someone watching me.
"Hey beautiful." Cameron said while smiling.
W-What? C-Cameron?
I pinched myself to know if this is the reality. My pinch hurts.
"Aw!" I exclaimed.
"H-Hey are y-you alright?" he asked worriedly.
"Yeah." I'm trying to limit my words because I don't want him to smell my breath. I bet it stinks.
"Why are you here?" I asked while covering my mouth.
"Uh. Well, I'm picking you up." He said.
"It's still early!" I whined at him.
"Well, Miss Blaire, sorry but it's already one in the afternoon." He chuckled.
"Quit joking." I also laughed. He then showed me his phone.
I stopped.
It's really one in the afternoon! I better hurry!
"Cameron, please wait downstairs. I'll be fast." Then I rushed to the bathroom.
I didn't wait for his reply.
Ty didn't even bothered to wake me up! Aish. That guy.
I just wore a simple fitted dress and a pair of sandals 'coz why not?
I was on my way downstairs when I heard voices. Maybe it was from Cameron and Ty.
When I arrived downstairs, I was shocked when I saw them playing PS4 together.
Really? Ty let him? But me, his sister, is not even allowed to touch any of his gaming things?
"Oh, the witch is here." Ty said as he extended his arms to stretch.
"Excuse me?" I said while raising a brow at him.
"I heard from Cameron that you two are going out. Is that true?" he asked curiously.
"Yes because I have no other choice." I said as I turned my head to Cameron and glared at him.
"Ooh, feisty. I like that." Cameron said as he laughs.
"Dude, are you flirting with my sister? If yes, change your flirting skills men! It sucks!" Ty said as he laughed with Cameron.
"No!"
"Yes."
Cameron and I answered at the same time. I just rolled my eyes at him.
"Well, you two should get going. I need her home by seven in the evening. Got that?" Ty said while pointing at me.
"Roger that sir." Cameron said while saluting at Ty.
"No monkey business okay?" Ty said as he glared at us.
"What? Ty! We're not even a thing!" I frustratingly said while running my fingers through my hair.
"Maybe later we would be a thing." Cameron joked.
I just hissed at him.
"Where do you want to go?" he asked while his eyes are fixed on the road.
"Anywhere." I answered simply.
"Well, I have one in mind if you agree." He said.
"Shoot." I then looked at him.
"I know you don't want us on the headline of our school paper tomorrow that's why I have chosen a quiet place." He stated.
"And where specifically is this place?" I asked curiously.
"At the Eden Garden." He said and I just nodded.
He knew my kind of place. Very well.

We are walking at the Eden Garden when I realized something. I still haven't asked him why he asked me out on a date.
"Hey."
"Hey."
We talked at the same time. Great.
"You should go first." He said.
"I just want to ask. Why did you brought me out on a date?" I curiously asked.
I felt his body stiffen as he fixed his gaze to me.
"Hey." I tried to nudge him.
"It's just that… there's something I wanted to ask you." He said.
"And what is that?" I asked him.
"I wanted to ask this for a very long time now. I'm just finding a perfect timing for it." He said fidgeting.
"Uh-uh. What is it?" I asked nearly irritated already because I'm very curious about it and yet, he is still not answering my question.
"I-I uhh… can I court you, Blaire?"
I felt my world stopped the moment he asked me that.
"I maybe going too fast but I just wanted to say that whether you agreed or not, I'm still going to court you." He said.
"You are joking, right?" I asked nervously.
"I'm not. I wanted you to know that I truly like you. I'm willing to wait for you until you are ready to love again. I want to be there by your side when that happens. I'm serious about it Blaire. I'm serious about you. And I'm willing to prove it to you." He stated.
And at that moment was the very first time I'm actually lost of words.
