The carriage that Tatyana, Darryl and Bertrum were in, slowly entered the castle grounds. This was the first time Tatyana had been this close to the royal castle. She always saw it from a far. All she could see were the tippy tops of it. But once she got a closer look it was grande than she expected. Wow! This place is so beautiful! Did he actually grow up here? Whoa! How is living here like? I'm sure its amazing! "Beautiful isnt it? I've spent all seventeen years of my life here." Darryl said knocking me out of my thoughts. He was actually really close to me he was just leaning in on my ear. "Yes it truly is your lordship. You're seventeen you say?" "Yup! A very handsome one at that. Anyway, I'd like to stay and chat, but, my princely duties await. See ya around." Daryl left me and Bertrum to go and take of his 'princely duties',"Oh! And Berty, show Miss. Jones her work stations will you?", "Yes your highness." Then he left off for real this time.
Bertrum showed Tatyana her work stations and she started her work right away. This castle is really big, so marvelous, for the first time in my life I'm wondering, how it would be like to live in a castle. I think, it would be so much fun! I'd read all the books in the library, go to all the gardens. Every single thing in here is made out of exquisite materials. From the marble floors, to the golden statues and the silk tapestries- " Hey new girl! Don't just stand there! Get back to work!...ugh I swear these people from other kingdoms shouldn't be hired they are so frustrating!" "Yes sir! My deepest apologies for the delay!" Tatyana said and curtseyed while going back to her work.
She mopped, dusted and polished every surface at her work stations. After some time, she started seeing the servants leave and head over to the kitchen. When she looked at the big clock in the, i don't know, seventh living room, she saw that it was already 12 o'clock. They say that time flies when you're having a good time, guess it also applies to working a lot. She walked in to the kitchen and found everyone seated in groups and chatting away while eating their food. She walked over to the pots on the stoves and looked around hoping that food was given at the castle and not that youre suppose to carry your own food because, she was in such a hurry in the morning that she forgot to pack her lunch." What are you looking around for, new girl? We dont give food here at the castle you're supposed to carry your own! What? You think youre special or something just because you come from another kingdom? Worthless outsiders! Stop stooping around the cooking area and get the hell out of here! You're just so disgusting!" She walked out of the kitchen and headed to one of the gardens she saw while she was working. Well, I'm kind of shocked that didn't happen since the first time I walked in here. Anyway, it was bound to happen sooner or later. Well seems like I'm going hungry today. Well, its not that I haven't experienced this before so its gonna be easy peasy lemon squeezy.
"Hey, Berty! D'ya notice if Tatyana carried some food for her lunch? Because, you were with her after she finished her breakfast." Bertrum stopped what he was doing for a while and started to think. We'll actually come to think of it, I didn't see her pack any food. Wait, why does his magesty even care if the servant girl has carried any food? And did he just call her by her first name- "Well, Berty, did she carry any?" Bertrum decided to ask those questions another time." No, she didn't, your mage-" "Say what? So, you're telling me that she's starving out there just because I rushed her out of the house?... Bertrum, tell Mother and father I'll eat my lunch with a friend today." "But you're...oh, I give up." Daryl had already walked out of the room and headed to the kitchen. He piled the plate with the food that was served for the royal family. He looked for her in the entire castle.
He asked the other servants and nobody knew where she was. Did she disappear off the face of the earth or something? She's nowhere to....there she is! Why's she sitting all alone? "Hey Taty! There you are!" He said while walking towards the gazebo she was sitting under. All around, there were beautiful flowers." Do you know how long I've been looking for you? Its like you're invisible, you know." He asked trying to start a conversation." Your lordship I am so sorry that u want available. My deepest apologies." She said while standing and making a crusty." You know you don't have to call me your lordship right? It's just us. Where'd that feisty Tatyana go? I really liked her a lot you know? Its not like you're going to get killed when you called me Daryl." She sat down and started making herself comfortable again." I can get killed for treason. And that 'feisty Tatyana' you're talking about is just rude and not cool at all" she said while looking around. "Oh yeah, before I forget. I brought this food for you. I remembered that you forgot to pack you're lunch, so i brought some for you...here you go. I also brought some for some for myself so we could have lunch together, so bon a petit!" They ate for some time while enjoying the good food.
"So did you make any friends?" He asked while in between bites. Tatyana stopped eating and just stared into space." I dont know if you have noticed your lordship, but people don't like me all that much. And I'm used to it. I'm actually shocked that youre sitting here with me and eating and...you know, in general just talking to me. I didn't expect this. Especially from the prince himself."
Daryl stopped eating and put his plate down and looked at Tatyana for a long time before saying, "What made you think this way?" "People dont like people from other kingdoms here. They feel disgusted or I don't know what they feel. I've been used to it for as long as I can remember. So it actually weird sitting here and talking to me. People just naturally hate me, I guess. Cant blame them." Daryl moved from his end of the table to where Tatyana was sitting and stood above her." I'll never 'naturally hate you'. Cause you are a very interesting girl and just, you know, fun to hang around, so dont expect me to leave you okay?" "As you wish your lordship." They finished eating their lunch and headed back to their duties. They agreed to eat lunch together every time Daryl was available. And so their friendship began.
