Tatyana left the castle feeling so free. She had never been so relieved in her life. I don't know why, but Daryl telling me that he will always be there for me makes me feel so lighthearted. I feel relieved. It's good to know that he'll always be here with me no matter what. First time really, to say the truth I didn't like his presence all that much. I just stayed with him cause he was someone to talk to. But now. Thinking that, he'll start treating me like everyone else makes me so terrified. Like my whole world is going to crumble. He's become so dear to me lately that the thought of losing him, makes me feel like the end is near. Anyway let's clear up all this trash occupying my mind. He said he's never going to leave and that's final.
She got out of the carriage once she reached her destination. Once she was in her little cabin, she showered, dressed and laid on her bed. Come to think of it, I forgot that Luke asked me to go to the village park, just to have fun. He seems like a nice guy. He's blue hair and his sharp gray eyes are so endearing. His features are not so bad too. I can't wait to 'have fun'. How is that like? Anyway, I guess I'll have to see what it is tomorrow after work. Time to get some shut eye.
"Daddy! Daddy! No! Mommy! What's wrong with daddy! He's not moving! The other king put a sword through daddy's chest!" A little girl dressed in a white dress with beautiful pink roses drawn perfectly on it was crying while being carried on her mother's back." Darling, it's going to be alright. What daddy wants right now is for us to get to safety. He always loves you, honey." The woman cried while running away from the chaos behind. All around were dead bodies of knights from the two kingdoms which were at war.
The woman and her daughter were far from all the chaos going on. They slid down a small valley and the woman knelt down to catch her breath. Out of nowhere an arrow came and shot straight through her back and showed at her chest. It lightly grazed the child on her chest and she started bleeding. She fell down and looked at the child across her with tears brimming her face. She crawled to the child next to her and hugged her tightly. The child had fainted because of the shock she had seeing an arrow on her mother's chest.
Tatyana quickly awoke from her deep sleep. Was that a nightmare or something? It was so saddneing! The carriage is going to be here soon, so I should start getting ready. She jumped off of the bed and got ready. Finally, she put on her uniform and the carriage, right on cue, pulled up in front of her cabin. She got in and greeted the driver.
When at the castle grounds, she quickly got to her work stations. Today, she was going to work at one of the gardens. This one although, didn't have beautiful flowers all around but all types of vegetables. She pruned them and watered them. They were actually a beautiful sight. The greens from the herbs matched well with the oranges on top of the trees. The reds from the tomato vines blended well with the yellows from the bell peppers. Also, the blue from Lukas blended well with the- wait. Lukas? What's he doing here? She stopped looking at the vegetables and walked over to Lukas.
"Hey luke!" She said once she was in front of him. He was carefully picking some herbs. He quickly snapped out of the trance he was in and noticed that there was someone infront of him. "Hello Tatyana! How is your day so far?" He asked while sitting on a bench not so far away. Tatyana walked over and sat down next to him. "Its actually good so far. How about you?"
"My day is always fine when I'm at the vegetable garden. It s beautiful, vibrant atmosphere always makes me feel so blissful inside." He said while smelling the air around him again. "No wonder you love cooking. If you like going to where the cooking begins then your bound to love the art itself."
Luke changed the direction he was looking at and looked directly at Tatyana to her beautiful green orbs. "But the beauty of the garden will never beat the beauty of your appearance." He said while holding her hand. Tatyana looked away shyly and smiled to herself. No one has ever complemented her. Daryl did once in a while but he never emphasized it the way Luke did. She whispered a slow thank you. "I'm sorry Tatyana but my kitchen duties are calling. I'll see you today in the evening." He said while walking away. Tatyana just waved good bye and got back to her work, anxiously waiting for the evening.
She walked to where Daryl always sat in the evening when he was done with his duties for the day. Hoping that he was still there. He wasn't able to come to lunch today because he had gone off to the village with his father to visit a duke who loved to dwell among common people. She heaved a sigh of relief when she saw that he was sitting on a bench on the corridor. "Hello your lordship. My deepest apologies for interrupting your evening rest." She said while curtsying. He looked around and stood up to walk to her. "Its okay. Nobody's around." He walked her to the bench and they both sat down.
"So, what's up? You never come see me in the evening. This is a first." He said while getting comfortable. "I came to tell you that I'm not taking the carriage today." He quickly straightened up." And why is that?" He asked with a serious face. "I'm meeting someone after work and I'm going somewehere around the village with him."She simply said. "A him?..... Wait let me guess, you're going with that new chef aren't you?" He said with distaste. "First, his name is Lucas and yes I'm going with him." She said then stood up to leave. Daryl also stood up. "Wait one second." He said and walked towards his chambers. He got out again after a few minutes wearing a commoners clothes. He looked nothing like the dashing prince in royal garments that walked in minutes ago. He looked simple but really handsome. "What aren you waiting for? I bet he's waiting for you. Chop chop! Dont wanna keep a man waiting do you?"
They both walked to the front of the castle together and saw Lukas waiting there. When he saw that Daryl was also there, he made a bow. Daryl said that he was tagging along to explore the village more. So Tatyana and lukas ended up going with Daryl everywhere. She had to admit that it was fun in its own essence. Guess it truly is the more the merrier.
Daryl walked Tatyana home. They said goodbye to lukas. When he was in front of her cabin he said goodnight and told her that he was going to come pick her up the following day. With that he left and walked towards the castle.
