N's POV
The police officers pulled out their guns and started shooting, making everyone run for their lives and panicked. The majority of them are pointing at me, which I dodged. But not everyone is lucky, few civilians are injured or died from bullet wounds. So many tears, shrieks, heartbreaks, blood, lifeless bodies on the street. Most of the beings that are dead were teenagers and college students, who only wanted to help. This peaceful protest is now turning into what I feared the most, a riot.
Some beings continued to run and head back home to safety, others stayed and caused havoc. Some humans brought out firecrackers, smoke bombs, molotov cocktails, knives, and guns. They are fighting with the police. There are even humans that are breaking in and looting items from the nearest stores. Also, they are destroying every property they see including cars, stop signs, street lamps, fire hydrant, and anything in sight.
This is turning into a war zone; the humans are fighting for what's right and the police are getting aggressive. Surprisingly enough, none of the vampires are fighting back. We're all angry, sad, and disappointed that this riot is happening. Kalisha is the most hurt because she wanted this protest to be calm and non-violent. But she is glad that none of the vampires are causing any damages. The police started the trouble and the civilians retaliated.
Then, multiple bullets land on...
"JYMIA!" Kalisha cried out, leaving all vampires and humans speechless.
Jymia looks down at her body where the bullets pierced her and she could not believe it. She drops to the ground and every vampire gets closer to her.
"Jymia, please don't perish. We all need you to stay alive. This world will feel empty without my best fren." Kalisha tells her, crying and sniffling. Jymia coughs out blood and tried to speak.
"Love you, Chika. Eke dey palava. No, be small thing o. Thunder will fire on every Eke!" She curses at the police, still coughing out blood.
"Everything was going so well and we were not expecting the police to fire real guns on all of us. I'm so sorry that this had to happen to you. I wish this life was so much kinder to you. I wished that David never damaged your heart and that you had found the right guy to love you. You deserve so much better." Kalisha comforts her.
"I already lived my life and had a plethora of men that I loved or lust over. Plus you have your own man that is madly in love with you and truly cares for you. Continue living your life and being happy. All I want now is peace." She tells her.
"Before I forget, Shani, you are the best. Ebele keep being you. Mitch and Kelsy, keep being a lovely couple. N, never stop being you. It's rare to encounter guys like you that are so kind and caring to others. Don't be like Dadi or even the late Ahti. Continue to love and appreciate Kalisha. Don't do anything to break her heart. If you do, then I have to haunt you forever. Do you understand?" She asks me.
"Yes," I replied.
"Good boy," She said.
"One last thing, I forgive Dadi. Even though he doesn't deserve my forgiveness, I rather leave this world with no grudges. Make sure he doesn't mistreat anymore women. Women already have too much to stress over, we don't need a guy like him ruining our livelihoods. Whoever he falls in love with, he better treat her like a queen and not no sex doll." She said.
"I love you, Jymia. Thank you for being in my life." Kalisha tells her, continues to sob.
"I love you, Kalisha. I wish you all the best." She said, closing her eyes.
"We have to take her to the hospital!" Ebele freaks out.
Kalisha checks her pulse and tells us that there's no beating going on. Everyone is stunned and froze. Kalisha bawled her eyes out and wails in pain.
While chaos is still surrounding us, we mourn the loss of a good woman. Even though I barely know Jymia that much or spend enough time with her, she still had a lot of life and meant a lot to Kalisha. Wrapping my arms and hugging her as she cries on my shoulders. Then, Ebele lets out a roar.
"Are you alright?" I ask, feeling concerned.
"I'm tired of the police killing us and expecting us to not fight back. Well, fuck that shit! We're vampires for crying out loud. I don't care if I get in trouble or die, these officers need to learn not to mess with us." Ebele explains. Transforming into its vampire form; Face all distorted and menacing, fingernails that are lengthy and sharp, ears pointy, and fangs that are ready to feast. Then, Ebele runs and attacks.
"Ebele, wait!" Kalisha tries to warn them but continued attacking.
Ebele leaps on one of the officers and ripped apart his attire, impaling him with the fingernails. Other officers tried to shoot, but Ebele threw the dead body at them. Running towards them and penetrating their necks with the fangs. Horrific screams leaving their mouths, but Ebele is enjoying every moment of it. A bunch of police officers gangs up on Ebele and attack using their baton. The harsh impact of several batons makes Ebele fall to the ground. Then, Shani decides to go help.
"Shani, what are you doing?" Kalisha asks.
"Mo n ran Ebele lowo. Ko si awọn vampires diẹ sii tabi awọn eniyan alaiṣẹ ku ni alẹ yi." Shani responds.
Kalisha translated for me and she said, "Helping out Ebele. No more vampires or innocent humans are dying tonight."
Shani converges into her vampire form. She pushes away all the police officers attacking Ebele. All of them flew very far and landed roughly, making them go unconscious.
Then, a policeman and policewoman storms in on Shani. I recognize their faces, they were in the Ahti video. I get a good look at their name tags and they are Officer Smith and Officer Keener. I overhear their comments.
"You better get out of here before you get hurt just like this freak." Officer Keener warns her.
Shani slaps her, leaving Officer Smith shocked that she slapped an officer. Officer Smith is itching to attack her, but he knows damn well that he wouldn't want to be known as a woman beater.
Officer Keener recovers and slaps Shani. Everyone including myself is speechless because no one ever slapped Shani before. This makes Shani fume and she stabs Officer Keener's neck with her fingernails. Officer Smith tried to shoot her, but she slapped the weapon away and pierces his neck as well. Holding both of them in the air and throwing them near Commissioner Adams.
This spooked Commissioner Adams and the Chief of Police. Adams orders more remaining policemen to attack and shoot Shani. But vampires and humans are protecting her. The humans start throwing rocks at the officers, while the vampires are piercing and chewing on their necks.
Then, Mitch and Kelsy helps out and protects Shani getting hurt. They bite their fangs on police officers attacking innocent humans and vampires. Kelsy lets out a loud shriek, which causes a vibration and many officers fall down. Mitch takes advantage of those who fell and eats them. I never seen this side of them.
It's a gruesome scenery everywhere. Lifeless bodies of civilians, vampires, and police officers are lying on the ground. Blood and body parts scattered everywhere. Property destroyed and flames rising with smoke covering the atmosphere. The fucked up part is that there's no ambulances or firefighters nearby fixing this massacre.
What irks me is that Commissioner Adams is not fazed by any of this. He is just looking at this atrocity with no emotions on his face. Even the Chief of Police looks like she's going to pass out.
The urge to kill him right now is eating me up inside. I'm having an internal struggle of deciding to kill him or listen to Kalisha and not cause harm to him.
If I wasn't in a relationship, I would have killed Commissioner Adams on sight right now. But since I love and care for Kalisha, I don't want to see her heart broken again. I need to find a way to confront him alone. It wouldn't feel right ending the night without finding out the truth and explanations of his crimes.
Then, I see Commissioner Adams talking to the Chief of Police and I eavesdrop on their conversation.
"Are you happy with yourself? Look at all the destruction you've caused!" She yells at him.
"I didn't do a goddamn thing. Those savages out there are doing the devil's work." He said.
"Don't you see all the humans and vampires that are dead?" She asks in disbelief by his attitude.
"Oh, you're siding with the troublemakers? Well, don't you see all the deceased police officers right now? Heck, there's two dead officers right next to us! Shockingly, you care more about Vampires than the police. Plus you're the Chief of Police, it's your job to make sure no officer gets hurt. Don't I pay you well enough for all this?" He exclaimed.
"How can I protect these officers when you take all of the control? Also, don't you dare mention pay when the police department is not making enough money. Plus I'm saddened by the loss of everyone, including those officers. So please, end all this and call it a night. None of this should have happened in the first place." Telling him, giving a disappointing and frustrated look.
"Honestly, I'm not going to stop shit. Let all these vampires perish. Heck, they shouldn't even exist. As for everyone else, well... They should have thought twice before protesting in front of the police department. I wish I could arrest every one of them and provide the death penalty." He barks.
"Vampires or not, no one should have been attacked or died. Plus look around, there are body cameras everywhere. So there's probably someone recording this conversation right as we speak. What would the president feel about all this? He's going to be furious and you might lose your position as Commissioner." She said, trying to warn him about his decisions and thought process.
"Also, why did you use real bullets instead of rubber bullets? It's like you wanted to kill every one of those protester. The police department can easily get in trouble for this. You are the worst!" She snapped.
"I have nothing else to say to you. I'm going home and getting out of this hellhole. Make sure you fix all mess and calm everyone down." He tells her and goes back to the police department. Then, she breaks down crying and prays.
Shani, Mitch, and Kelsy walks towards us, holding Ebele over their shoulders. Ebele is even more badly bruised than I first rescued them from Mike Benson.
"Ah! Ebele, I'm so sorry that this happened to you." Kalisha said, looking petrified.
"I think we should all leave because this protest turned out of control. Plus we already lost Jymia and so many innocent beings, we don't need to lose anymore." I suggest to them.
"What should we do about Jymia? Where should we take her? How should we explain this to my mom or even her parents?" She asks, freaking out and breathing hard.
"Officer Durant and Officer Jordan can provide transportation for everyone including Jymia. They will take you guys back to your mother's place. You all need to tell them the truth. It's not going to be easy, but stay strong and give each other comfort." I tell everyone.
"What about you? Aren't you going to come with us?" She asks, looking concerned.
I sigh, "I need to confront the Commissioner"
"Njau?! I thought we were a unit and always to stick together. Why do you want to leave us and go confront him?" She is getting angry at my decision.
"We are still a unit and I'll always be there. But I need to get a lot of unanswered questions from him. It wouldn't feel right if I don't do so. I came too close to miss this perfect opportunity." I explain to her.
"Are you sure you can go by yourself? I don't want you getting hurt or killed. My heart can't handle another death." She said, continuing to sob. I wipe her tears and hug her.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure nothing bad will happen to me." I comfort her.
"Please don't kill the Commissioner. Promise me that you won't kill him. Please!" She pleaded.
I didn't know how to respond, because I want to kill him and not have to worry anymore. But I don't want to go against her and damage her heart even more. I hate feeling this way!
"I must go" I respond. Kissing her and ending it off with a hug. Then, I give a hug to everyone else. Hoping for their safe return home.
I leave the area, trying to find where Commissioner Adams live. I need to confront him, ending this suffering once and for all.
