Chapter 22 - Hunter and Guild

West Station / North Hall Guild

Noon /

A large hall that can accommodate over 500 people. A room without a door to welcome the Hunters. At the end of the room, there is a long reception desk with Guild receptionists waiting for the Hunters.

The guild has two halls. South side hall and north side. The south side hall used as a gathering hall for hunters who wanted to go hunting. The north hall used for activities selling goods to the Guild.

But there is another function of this north side hall. The place also used as a market for Merchants to operate.

Merchant is a job that has nothing to do with hunting. So Merchants don't count as Hunters. They are part of the Ordinary Abyssal Citizens.

[Abyssal Citizens: This term is used to describe people are at home living in Abyssal. This term not used for those who still live on the surface.]

Our main character sits on the stone seat that sits on the balcony in the hall. Looking at the lobby which filled with two kinds of Abyssal Residents, Hunters who wanted to shop, and Merchants who sold all necessities hunting down.

At that time, Ars' clothes were better than the dirty clothes he was wearing before. Even though he's still pissed off because he feels like he got scammed just because of the black shirt he bought - he likes it tho.

He also tied a single Bear Beast Blade around his left waist. His usual hair was limp forward. At that time he applied oil and combed it back. Make him look like someone else - a lone Silver Vanguard to the eyes of others.

Ars did this because he no longer wanted to be underestimated just because of his small body.

"I will beat them off if I have the opportunity."

Ars even still holds a grudge against the three big boys who looked down on him this morning.

[Money in Pocket = 620 Abyssal-Cash]

Ars got all kinds of new sights after entering the North Hall. The use of the guild hall as a place to operate for Abyssal Citizens could only be found at the west station. Not only selling hunting items, some small stalls also sell snacks for hunters who want to relax.

Ars was enjoying the potato chips and juice he got from the stall near to his seat. All that he got for only 10 Cash.

The activities of selling drop items by the Hunters haven't happened much. That's because midday is hunting time. The activity of selling drop items will occur a lot in the afternoon, after the Hunters have finished hunting.

Ars had two goals. First, to sell a bag of Bear Beast Nails directly to the Guild. The second is trying to sell to Traders.

[Traders: Merchants who act as buyers of dropping items from Hunter, to sell them back to the Market.]

Ars got that information after communicating with a Party Hunter he met earlier. At that time, the previous Party Hunter is shopping for potions downstairs.

Ars looked at the Party Hunter who had previously asked him to hunt. Suddenly, the female Priest from the party saw her and waved her hand shyly.

Ars returned the wave evenly. "Does she still expect me to come with them?"

Ars realized that he is super strong now. But as he said, "But I still want to relax first." Besides, he had 112k of money in [Unlimited Inventory] which he wanted to exchange that day.

Afternoon / 01:31

The Hunters have gone out to hunt. The merchants spent their time chatting casually in the balconies. Now it's time for Ars to go to the Guild reception desk.

Ars brought the bag he bought the clothes from earlier, which at that time filled with about 15 Bear Beast Nails. The amount of money in the bag is [242 Cash] from the detection result of [Value Scanner].

Most likely the system of the [Value Scanner] followed suit based on the standard Guild prices. Considering that [Eyes of the Dragon] is a cheat given to Ars from Abyssal itself, delivered by Fafnir.

Ars is close to the reception desk. Suddenly, there is a Trader approaches him.

"Sorry to bother you for a moment, Mr. Hunter. Do you want to sell your drop items to the Guild? "

Distended Asian old man shorter than Ars. Wearing the clothes of a high-class Merchant and a small bag hanging on his stomach.

Ars had suspected the traders' arrival. Though not exactly the distended old man in front of him.

Ars played cool and answered casually. "Yeah."

"Ooh, then, may I ask you a moment?"

"Sure, but let me sell this first."

Ars played cool because of the lessons he got from his acquaintance earlier. If you show the slightest bit of weakness, Traders will definitely take advantage or maybe will fool you.

"Wait! Wait!" The traders insisted on stopping Ars. "Then I'll just get on with it." The Traders cleared his throat, then introduced himself, "My name is Lee Wai, the Traders who owns the market in West Station. I don't want to be rude, but it would be better for you to sell me a bag of drop items than - "

"Yeah-yeah, I get it." Ars started to feel uncomfortable. "I'll sell you another bag later. Now give me a way."

Ars lost his pride and took a sideways path to avoid the distended old man - Lee Wai. But Lee Wai didn't give up.

"Wait, sir, I'll double -?!"

Instantly, Ars grabbed Lee Wai by the collar. Even though Ars is inferior to that distended old man, if it's a matter of strength don't ask.

Lee Wai made to lower his head and stare at Ars, who activated [Eyes of the Dragon].

"Listen, old man. Let me through and I'll see you later. Or you prefer to be stubborn and I'll beat you up, RHRN."

The enraged Ars subconsciously activated [Menacing Gaze], making Lee Wai trembling with fear.

Ars let go of Lee Wai, who was nodding tremblingly. Then walks by, pushing Lee Wai out of his way.

Previously, Ars tried to make the smallest sound. But because of [Menacing Gaze] and the conflict in public, the two of them were subject to ridicule.

Even though Ars doesn't care about that and he doesn't know why.

Ars greeted by the receptionist when he arrived at the Guild table.

"Good afternoon, dear Hunter. What can we help with your arrival?"

The Receptionist is emotionless black haired women. Indeed, there was no explanation, but in Hunter circles, they considered Receptionists to be Homunculus / Robot / or non-human created only to serve the Guild and help Abyssal Hunter, or in other words, NPCs.

It doesn't bother Ars, though. But one thing that really annoys Ars whenever he comes to the reception desk: the reception desk is 1.5m high, while Ars is 1.59m high.

For some reason, the Receptionist stood on a higher ground than the Hunters at the Reception desk.

"I want to sell this item. And also, I want to do a test."

"To your order: Would you like to do Sales or Testing first?"

"Ah, yeah, I can't do those two things in one go."

Receptionists are NPCs who can only move according to the system. They are not like humans who understand client's emotions.

"In that case, I request to make a sale first."

"If you want to make a sale, please take this card and go down the hall from your right."

Ars takes the card with the number on it. "1." Order number 1. Which means Ars is the first client who comes to make a sale that day.

Wasting no time, Ars went straight to the right corridor. The right corridor leads the hunters to another large room, where the guild workers are in charge of weighing the drop items that Hunters want to sell, Weigher.

The Sales Process follows two simple steps. Hunter gives drop items they want to sell. Weighers weigh the Hunters' drop items. Then the Weigher will immediately give money according to the drop in price of the Hunter items they weigh.

"The price of your drop item are 242 Abyssal-Cash. Do you want to end the sales process?"

Ending the process means that Ars agrees to the price given.

"End the process," answered Ars briefly.

"On your orders."

Tit~

Ars' Hunter Bracelet ringing.

"You just received your 242 Abyssal-Cash. Do you still have other needs?"

"No."

"Then thank you for your participation."

Is right. The system that works on [Value Scanner] based on Guild standards. So Ars cannot rely too much on [Value Scanner] in negotiations with later trading.

"All right, now is the time to measure power."
