Chapter 16 - Chapter 9.5 - Unexpected Delay!

"As you guys have heard from the rumors, there was supposedly an event where clubs set things up so other people can join your club," Ms. Aiko said to the class.

Wait, wasn't she the one who spread the rumors about that?

"Anyways, the reason why I was late was that the teachers were called for a meeting.

The principal notified us that that specific event was delayed until the day before the so-called "Winter Break" students are supposed to have."

Okay, so we rushed into things so quickly that all we needed was the event itself, did you really have to play us like that, huh fate? Answer me!

"Psst!" Haruka called to me.

"Does this mean I still have time to join your club? Hihi!" Haruka delighted to hear the news, said.

"Yeah, I guess." I replied to her.

"But that doesn't mean that the Club Inspection is delayed too! We club advisors have to keep our clubs in check for the inspection. I was assigned to the Media Club, so if anyone is a part of that, I'm your advisor."

Oh no... I mean oh yes...?

"Alright, enough of the announcements, let's get on with class." Ms. Aiko said as she started writing on the board.

Man, this is such a hassle, after we rushed the preparation, it was just gonna get delayed? Come on! I could've written at least 4 chapters with the time I wasted...

I then endured another eternity bored out of my mind in class.

*bell ring*

Ugh! Finally! Home Sweet Home!

Oh, wait, lunch with the gals. I nearly forgot.

"Don't forget to do the homework class, I'll be checking those first thing tomorrow! See y'all youngsters later!" One of my favorite teachers, Mr. Sakura, a sweet old man, bid us a warm farewell as he left the room.

If there was a class I sort of didn't hate, it would be his. He's so kind to us and gives second chances...

Alright, enough of that tangent, time to get ready to leave.

"Hey, Akari! Do you have a minute? I have to talk to you about something..." a classmate said to me as I was about to leave.

"Ehm, I actually gotta—"

"It's alright, Akari! We'll wait for you at the school gate! Don't delay us again like you did last time!"

Haruka quickly interrupted me and left as quickly as possible.

After Haruka left, it was just me and this boy I have never talked to before, standing, alone in an empty, orange chromed classroom...

This feels like a confession...

What if it is?! What do I say?! I barely know this guy!

What this male classmate of mine said next was jaw-dropping...

"Can you... Ehm, what I was trying to say was..." the man stuttered with his words... until finally...

"Can you help me get with the president of your club...?" the student said...

...

...

...

...what?
