Chapter 1 - Special Daughter

All I had ever done was live inside a life that my father had bestowed upon me, I never wished to be his daughter but this I consider fate. I'm sick of waking up to an ebony room, covered in burgundy red vein like roots wrapping my bed and walls. Today was my 16th birthday. It was the most exciting thing I had experienced in...15 years actually.

As a princess, whatever my wish is, my people and the king, my father, must agree and allow me to do so. Since I'm finally turning 16, I was finally allowed to see humans and live like a human for 10 years as I wished for, since I was young. Until my father decided to arrange a marriage for me to the Human Prince, who is going to be king after his father dies, Prince Moluan.

I, the daughter of the king, marrying a stupid human! Me, a Vampire, staying next to a human. My father has gone crazy, I thought. Even the thought of human blood makes  me go crazy. However after years of not being able to even touch a single human I got used to it, but if I meet and touch a human...i don't know if I would still stay sane.

I couldn't even close my eyes for a whole week, my head spinning because I was over stressing myself too much. I had been living the life of a hidden child, father had never spoken of me much. I only spent time with my nanny or butlers learning etiquette and what not.

I was sitting again on a silent chilly morning inside my pitch black, blood stained room thinking about how I could make father cancel the engagement, whilst staring at myself intensely through a mirror. Prince Moluan was said to be the most handsome human alive, but I never personally saw him. I'm guessing he looks like one of those princes from those old fairy tales the merchants brought in years back.

I stared at myself, evaluating every part of my face to my neck. My lengthy sable, black undulating hair which brushed down to my elbows. My fervent eyes blazing vermillion red, pecked at people's fears. My soft tender lips that pulled on people's hearts and my sheet-like skin that only bloomed snow white.

I may not seem the most pretty according to the colours of my hair and eyes but I am the only person alive that has a vampire soul with devil eyes. Even my father was shocked when I was born, he cherished me the most out of all his other children from his concubines.

In total father has 8 but only 5 of them have children, Nancy, Demonia, Clarissa, Agares and Me, Elena, The only vampire child in 6 million years of Deadrae.

Female devils can only have one child in their lifespan of 10,000 years. Is it not funny that I've only lived 16 years out of 10,000 years I have left, and already it feels like it has been 6,000. I get sick and tired of everything in my life.

The only person that I have with me is Draven. He is the only person I trust and always will be. My mother Garcia Mucandeus, daughter of Lord Edgar, passed away after giving birth to my dead Little sister Lindsay. Lindsay was already announced dead before she was born, as I said, Female devils can't give birth to more than one child, so Lindsay was only alive for 3 days.

My father, Satan or Lucifer if you prefer, gave me the name Elena Lucinda Lilith Deadralia. Elena, the name of a vampire, Lucinda which means light, Lilith which is the name of my father's first love who died after old age, and Deadralia my surname that belongs to father.

Deadrae is named after Father's surname "Deadralia ''.

It is the only place father lets me live because it's the safest place without me going crazy for the blood of another creature. My family is really long but the most important child is me and the crown prince of Hell. Deadrae is the sacred spot of hell where only the family of the Deadralia blood can stay, and of course since I am the "dearly" loved princess and a vampire next in line for the throne, the palace of Deadrae is the only place I am most suited in. Although the weather is mostly unwelcoming and glacial, it's absence of sound really calms one's mind.

A prolonged sigh slipped out of my mouth, expressing the deep discomfort and hapless soul of mine. Everything in my mind was linked to that stupid prince I didn't even know, I mean not knowing him made it even more worse! I vigorously slammed my head against the marble vanity placed right in front of me, puffing.

It annoys me how much I don't want to marry, "It was only supposed to be a small trip to the human land to be able to experience life there, but this! I can't deal with this!" I whispered dolefully to myself.

I'm afraid father won't take back the hand in marriage, then what am I going to do! The thoughts just kept flooding in one by one every second. I mean unless he is actually handsome then I don't really mind. But really how am I going to handle my urges of hunger once I actually do go there. It's so hard, "ah!" I yelled to myself.

Abruptly, I place both my hands on the white table like vanity and push myself away, sauntering towards the double doors leading to a balcony. "A fresh breath of air will clear my mind" I pondered. Then a slice of air struck at my nose filling it with a chilling coldness, then blowing out a cordial cloud of plain white air into my face.

The newly trimmed grass below filled all sense of stress, calming my body as time passed. "Keith!" I exclaimed, looking at the wide open oak doors that stood behind me. "Yes my princess" a kind and gentle old voice caressed my ears. "May I have a seat here?" I asked politely, swiftly spinning around to see a small frail old man, Keith, who had barely a moustache and a head full of hair. "Of course my princess," he quickly replied. And with a blink he had already disappeared back into and out of my room.

The vast lonely moon lit up right against my balcony, its grayish atmosphere filled hope inside my heart. A smile grew on my face and just then a loud bang hit against the marble laid floor, "I- sorry my princess!" Keith exclaimed, "It's alright Keith you may go now" I replied. Now as my chair is here too, sitting here and admiring the glory of the sky doesn't seem like too much of a bad idea, at least my mind would be tranquil.
