Chapter 19 - Chapter 18: Coronation Part 3

Clara finished preparing me for my coronation. I looked into my mirror, I looked so elegant and worthy of the crown. I looked back at Clara and said, "Thank you, Clara. You have out done yourself. Here." I handed Clara four invitations to my coronation and a key. She looked up at me and smiled, "Thank you, Your Majesty! My family will appreciate this very much so. May I ask what the key is for?". It made me happy to see her smiling. I said, "The key unlocks the dressing lounge. It's for you and your family members to find something nice to wear to my coronation." Before Clara could say anything, someone knocked on the door. "You may come in.", I announced. One of my guards walked into my room and said, "Your Majesty, you need to check all the preparations for your coronation. Some guests will be arriving, soon." I nodded. "Oh, and Clara, you are dismissed to go home to your family and prepare.", I smiled. She curtsied. I left my room and started walking around my castle to check all the preparations. So far, everything looked perfect. I walked into the ballroom and I gasped. I have never seen this ballroom look so alive before. I smiled. I looked at the guard and said, "Everything is perfect. Please tell the whole staff they I am grateful for their amazingly hard work. Oh, and feel free to smile. Nobody feels comfortable around mean-looking royal guards. Smile." The guard cleared his throat and smiled. I nodded and dismissed him. I walked upstairs and looked out the front window. I could see the whole entire capitol. I could also see guests arriving and walking into the chapel. That's where I will become Queen of Teleria. I will be marrying my kingdom. People may think they serve me, but it's me who serves them. I'm going to be the one to solve problems, and punish the bad. My duty is to serve and protect Teleria. I heard someone approach me from behind. They cleared their throat and I turned around, it was Daniel. He smiled and said, "It's time." I smiled and nodded. I walked to the chapel with Daniel escorting me. The guards that were stationed by the front doors of the chapel, opened the doors in sync and I walked in. I heard the trumpets sound and my name was announced, "Stand up for your Crown Princess Astrid of Teleria, Your Future Queen." Everyone stood up and turned to face me. Their faces were filled with amazement, astonishment, and proud. All I saw was everyone smiling at me. I raised my head, looked straight at the Archbishop, smiled, and walked to the front of the chapel elegantly. I saw suitors staring at me with temptation and lust. Typical. I made it to the front of the chapel and went down onto my knees with my head still raised. The Archbishop handed me the Bible and said, "Madam, is your Majesty willing to take the Oath?" And I replied saying, "I am willing." The Archbishop nodded and then said, "Will you solemnly promise and swear to govern the People of Teleria concerning each and every village, town, city, the capital of Teleria, and of your Possessions and the other Territories to any of them belonging or pertaining, according to their respective laws and customs?"

I said, "I solemnly promise to do so." He then asked, "Will you to your power cause Law and Justice, in Mercy, to be executed in all your judgements?" I replied saying, "I will." He asked, "Will you to the utmost of your power maintain the Laws of God and the true profession of the Gospel? Will you to the utmost of your power maintain in Teleria, the Protestant Reformed Religion established by law? Will you maintain and preserve inviolably the settlement of the Church of Teleria, and the doctrine, worship, discipline, and government there of, as by law established in Teleria? And will you preserve unto the Bishops and Clergy of Teleria, and to the Churches there committed to their charge, all such rights and privileges, as by law do or shall appertain to them or any of them?"

"All this, I promise to do so.", I said with pride. I knees started to cramp while I was still positioned here. The Archbishop told me to stand up. I stood up wobbly, but tried not to show it. I kissed the Bible and handed it to the Archbishop. He handed it to the man beside him. He then grabbed the crown. He placed it on my head. Then he grabbed and placed the orb and scepter into my hands. I turned around and faced everyone. I announced, "The things which I have here before promised, I will perform and keep. So help me God." I stood straight and kept my balance. Everyone stood up and applauded. After the coronation ceremony was over, everyone was escorted to the ballroom. When I arrived in the ballroom, I sat on the throne a watched everyone dance, eat, drink, and talk. Honestly, I was proud to be Queen, but I was bored from sitting on the throne for a while. In the crowd, I noticed my cousin and her fiancé, Princess Sapphire and King Arlo. My cousin grabbed King Arlo and walked towards me. She curtsied and he bowed. I nodded and said, "Welcome back, King Arlo and my dearest cousin, Princess Sapphire." They smiled. King Arlo said, "Congratulations on your coronation, Your Majesty." I thanked him and they left. In a distance, I saw a handsome man start to walk towards me. He was with someone, he was with my half-brother!
