Chapter 38 - Chapter 38: I Submit

"Take care of the others…!" Terrifaísteio said to Thirío. As soon as she said this, Thirío turned around and released an overbearing pressure. He looked at Azrael and the helpers like a predator looking at his prey.

Desperate to prove herself, Livia charged at him first. She immediately appeared in front of Thirío, but then suddenly, a powerful hand touched her shoulder from behind. It was Thirío, before anyone knew it, he appeared behind Livia.

He then gripped her shoulder with an incredible force.

"AAAH!!" Livia screamed out loud and lost all her strength after. Normally, you wouldn't be able to touch a helper's body unless they allow it. The tail was the only tangible part of a helper.

Only another helper can casually make contact with another helper's body, whether the helper allows it or not.

Livia then collapsed on the ground unable to move. Kitsune then went after him next. Her body was quickly surrounded with purple lightning bolts as she strategically moved around Thirío, but Thirío didn't move an inch and remained standing on the same spot, unphased by Kitsune's display of her speed.

Kitsune then clenched her fist and punched Thirío on the face, causing his head to turn to the side. Now feeling even more confident with her speed, she continued her assault of punches at a tremendous speed. All one could see were gusts of wind accompanied by purple lightning bolts dancing around Thirío.

At the center, Thirío's head just kept turning left and right.

Suddenly, Thirío made eye contact with Kitsune as she was approaching to punch him again. This surprised Kitsune, but she couldn't stop now. She had already committed to the attack, all she could do was push forward.

Thirío watched her approach and caught the incoming fist, right before it could make contact. He then grabbed Kitsune's head, raised her in the air, and watched her struggle trying to get out of his grip.

He violently burried her head into the ground then massaged his face. He then turned towards Azrael and the tailed Lilith and walked towards them.

Azrael and the tailed Lilith then looked at each other awkwardly.

"I'm not fighting that..." The tailed Lilith said then went to sit on top of a boulder nearby.

Thirío watched her go to the side. Seeing that she was uninterested, he continued to walk towards Azrael as the nails on his fingers grew longer and sharper. Fire began to engulf his hands.

Azrael then conjured a sharp greatsword then fearlessly charged at Thirío. Thirío charged right back. Their collision caused the entire island to shake. A crater was formed beneath them due to the shockwave. Seeing that Azrael was able to exchange a blow with him head on, a smile full of expectations creeped on Thirío's face.

*whistle noises*

I whistled, impressed by the strength of the beast like helper. I then looked back up at the flaming reaper who looked at me as if looking at a boasting insect.

10 seconds were almost over. I qiuckly made up my mind and charged at her with my left hand clenched into a fist, but she suddenly appeared in front of me midflight, then punched me in the face with a flaming fist.

I came crushing down into the ground, diving over 10 feet deep. Lava began to fill the man sized hole I was in. I quickly flew back up as I rubbed my face in pain.

"What the fuck just happened?" I asked myself, touching my now bruised face. "Is this the extent of your power?" Terrifaísteio asked me as she gently landed on the ground.

"No..." I said as I circulated Armando's power within me. Purple lightning danced around as I warmed up with a stretch. I still did not transform to my reaper form. This was an opportunity to see just how much my body could take.

"Let's try that again." I said out loud then charged at her once more, this time going after her with a kick. I quickly appeared before her and swung a kick at her head.

She was quick to react, as she dodged the incoming kick right before it could make contact. The ground behind her shattered from the force of the kick, accompanied by sparks of lightning and roars of thunder.

I twisted my body, and made a follow up kick with my other leg, attempting to strike her down. She quickly raised her arms in a crossed position and blocked my attack. She pushed me back with a discharge of flames then retaliated with a punch of her own that was powered by flames.

I raised my arms to my face and blocked the incoming fist with the palms of my hands, pushing me a dozen meters back. For hours we kept exchanging blows like this with no sign of a victor yet.

Quickly, a full day had passed. At this point, I had been bruised with scorch marks all over my body.. In contrast to Terrifaísteio, who had no signs of injuries on hers.

"How long will you hold back? Keep this up and you will die!" Terrifaísteio said in an annoyed tone, but her face still looked expectant.

"Stop insulting me and show me your full strength!" Terrifaísteio commanded.

"I suppose this is as much as my body can take anyway.' I thought walking towards her. A dark cloud began to engulf my body as it transformed into that of an 8-foot reaper.

"The real fight starts now!" I said to her as a 7-foot, black scythe appeared on my hands. A creepy grin was curved on Terrifaísteio's face as she felt some pressure from my power.

I had the growing power of 3 worlds and absorbed the souls of 2 reapers. The pressure came from the rescent massacres that killed billions. The souls from all those victims were still flowing in. Reapers could sense these things.

Terrifaísteio seemed to get serious as well as she started growing larger. An armor, that looked like it was made of molten lava, began to form around her body.

  'Shit!' I thought to myself.

The pressure she now gave off was on a completely different level from before. Clearly, she had been holding back as well. She too began to walk towards me. We were now standing, eye to eye.

"No weapon?" I asked her. "My fists are all I need." She said with an unyielding sense of confidence.

I then dropped my scythe and said, "I'll do that as well then."

Her energy then sky rocketed, looking like an erupting volcano..

"You will regret that decision!" She said.

"I'll make you submit!" I replied.

We then both attacked at the same time. The collision of our fists immediately shattered the island we were on. Fire and purple lightning danced and flickered above, where the island once was.

The fight was taken to the sky as we each reigned a barrage of attacks on each other at a tremendous speed that the average man could not see.

(Ring of Fire)

Terrifaísteio shouted as colossal rings of fire began to spread out of her body in all directions. The scorching flames blanket the sky around us and gave me no chance of escape.

I decided to face the flames head on. I coated my body with purple lightning, using it as an element of protection, and countered with a fist of my own.

Terrifaísteio bested me in both strength and speed. Blocking each of her attacks successfully was not only impossible, but the impacts also took a toll on my bones. Fortunately, I could handle this much.

At the moment, it may have seemed like Terrifaísteio had the upper hand, but strength and speed aren't always the deciding factor in a battle. In time, things might change.

Each attack I made was imbued with my dark cloud, that slowly sipped into the reaper's flaming body. However, her fire was extremely resistant to the poisons in my cloud and would almost immediately be neutralized the moment they infultrated her body.

She in turn burned me with each attack. My dark cloud restricted the burning effect, but only to a certain extent. Our fight went on for 3 days straight, neither of us showing any signs of submitting.

  Finally, on the fourth day…

"You look a little tired…. Are you done already?" I asked her in a provocative tone.

I could sense my dark cloud within her body, weakening her by the minute. Her flames had become extremely dim compared to 3 days ago. Dark patches of my dark cloud now visibly covered various parts her body. She was almost at her limit.

"Stop… huuuh… acting smug… huuuh… you don't look… huuuh… so good yourself…" She said to me in between heavy breaths.

I had been keeping up a front, but there was no part of my body that didn't ache. Scorch marks could be seen all around my body and they showed no signs of healing. My left arm was hanging off it's socket and looked just about ready to fall off. Only thing that still kept me standing was my resolve to not lose. I could guess it was the same for my opponent as well.

I then threw a fist coated with purple lightning at her. Compared to three days ago, this attack came at a snail's pace. Terrifaísteio easily caught the fist and kneed my elbow, breaking my arm in the process.

Unwilling to waste time reacting to the pain, I twisted my body, as she still held my now broken arm. The arm finally came off as I kicked her at the side of her right knee, breaking her leg in the process.

Despite our broken bones, the exchange of blows continued. The fight took us all around the planet as cities made of gold came crumbling down in our wake.

Finally, 6 hours eventually passed and each one of our limbs had been broken. We both levitated high up in the sky as all we could now do was headbutt each other till one of us submitted.

(BAM!)

(BAM!)

(BAM!)

The impacts did a number on me and all I could now see was a blur in front of me as I slowly began to lose consciousness. Suddenly, Terrifaísteio began to slowly descend, withou her realizing. Eventually, she began to drop from the sky like a flaming meteor and crashed on the surface of the planet, creating a massive crater.

I then flew back down and found her lying in the middle of a massive crater of her making. I laid down next to her and finally closed my eyes.

"I…I submit…*coughs*…but I will make you work for it!" She said her final words before I completely lost consciousness. The fire around her body completely faded away as she closed her eyes.
