Everything was a blur. There were merely any lights around the mage as opened his eyes and sat up his bed. "Your Highness, you should not. You need to rest" A woman in a long glittery blue dress spoke. "Do not worry" His voice was ragged. It sounded dry and rough. He felt exhausted and heavy. Trying to recall what had happened, the servant placed a tea on his hands. "Drink this, my prince. You'll feel a lot better" The servant's voice and words brought a smile to his face. It reminded him of his mother. Of course, this servant would undoubtedly remind him of his late mother. He did give her a resemblance from his own mother. "What happened, Yui?" He asked, voice still ragged. "The dark mages have struck again. You were attacked in your workplace and the connoisseurs spoke about a poison found in your body. The connoisseurs presumed that the mages might have poisoned you. That's why you lost your consciousness"
"Is everything alright now?" Guilt and sadness struck the mage. He felt weak and miserable. He could not do anything. If these dark mages can attack this way, he wouldn't be able to protect his subjects and his kingdom. He wouldn't be able to protect the throne. "I heard from the general that the warrior did his job. They said that the work was done flawlessly though not too clean as every corner of the town and the village was bloody and corpses of the enemies were everywhere to be seen" The servant spoke with ease as she cleans the mess surrounding the prince. The prince smiled with amusement. I hate this. The mage thought. He knows he should not be doing this. Relying on someone else's strength and power. Did he cross the line he created himself? He is not sure. "How is the warrior prince?"
"That, I am not sure. After the warrior saved you from the hands of our enemies, I stayed here and remained to tend your wounds. The connoisseurs said that one should stay and take care of you" Worry started to fill the mage. "So you don't know if he is alive or not?" The mage stuttered. "Your Highness, were you not listening to what I said?" The servant laughed. "The general has spoken about the warrior's flawless work so it would mean he is safe. I'm just not too sure if he's not injured nor wounded" The mage sighed with relief. He would possibly end his life if the warrior died. After all, this man was erratically sent by the Moon Princess without him knowing, and for whatever reason, he didn't know at all. This prince has nothing to do with him or with the dark mages. Surely, with his past too. He wouldn't let an innocent being be part of his past.
The mage was brought to reality again when he heard a knock from his door. The servant took the knob and opened the door, revealing a man in a red hood standing near the entrance. "I shall leave the two of you then" The servant took the tray of materials for aiding and left the two princes. The two men stayed there staring at each other. "What brought you here, Kuro-shi?" The mage smiled with glee as he broke the cold silence and stares. "Am I not allowed to visit you, then?" The warrior turned his back and walked away. "That's not what I meant!" The mage yelled slightly. The warrior stopped on his tracks and smirked. "Are you alright now?"
"Better than before" Hyousuke faced the mage and frowned. "Liar" The warrior whispered on the other's ears. "I am alright!" The mage stuttered, blushing at the warrior's unexpected action. "You should worry about yourself, you fought with those mages" Half yelled, the mage spoke. Still embarrassed by what has happened. "They are nothing compared to me. I expected more on them but they seem weak" The warrior spoked, amused by the mage's reaction. "You don't look injured. I suppose it's really nothing for me to worry"
"What about you? How did you end up on the arms of those guys?" The warrior sat on the chair on the corner of the room. "Yui told me that I was most likely poisoned by those mages. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised about that. Poisons are their field of magic" The mage prince spoke, the smile never leaving his face. "How were you even tainted? You were just inside your icy workplace" Hyousuke asked. His voice was quite loud and concerned which startled the mage. These past few weeks that they have been together, the warrior prince never showed any emotions towards him or anyone in the kingdom. They would speak about the other kingdom or about Naoyuki's contribution to their land. They would eat together on the same table and sometimes have tea together. Most of the time, Hyousuke would just follow the mage at any place and would usually stay in his workplace while the mage does his own obligations. The warrior has not left the other prince's side. Although the warrior displayed those kinds of actions, he never spoke or indicated any emotions except for getting mad at the nicknames the mage would give him.
"Looking at these wounds I got, I presume they shot me with a poisonous arrow" The mage spoke as he looked around his body. "From a shot of an arrow, you got that much wounds?" The warrior laughed at the thought. "Stop that ridiculous laughing of yours" The mage spoke, frowning. "Poisonous arrows are very deadly, it's a shock I'm still alive. If you are shot even just by one arrow, the poison will first spread onto your skin and burn it which will cause wounds and it will soon burn your internal organs until you die" The mage faced the other and smiled again. "They have used this technique for a very long time and it looks like they will not stop until this succeeds" The mage laughed at himself which made the other prince irritated.
What is it with this prince that makes this warrior feel so revolted? The warrior asked himself but before he could even answer it if he has a response to that question, he wrapped his arms around the other male. Looking at the emotionless eyes that are usually hidden by the mage's long and blonde fringes, the warrior felt the urge to wrap his warm arms around the other. This idiot blonde is annoying and gets on my nerves. But you're still hiding the pain that is obviously seen in those sapphire blue eyes of yours. The warrior hugged even tighter.
The mage, on the other hand, was stunned. Surprised by the actions of this prince. What could he have eaten to be like this? Nonetheless, the prince hugged back. He doesn't even know who I really am but he's this affectionate. Why? Though he knows himself he should not, no, he should never cross his own created line, he didn't want to let go. It's like this is something he's been missing. The mage then noticed a glow around them. What is this? The warrior let go and smiled. "What was that?" Hiromitsu looked away blushing and embarrassed by what had happened. He took another glance and noticed the sweet smile plastered on the man's face which made him blush even more. But he also noticed, he wasn't feeling heavy anymore nor the wounds felt like it wasn't there. "What was that glow? I am mostly sure it did not come from my own magic or anyone else in this land. It's a different one. Was it yours?"
"Maybe, maybe not. Go back to bed you are very red" The warrior left the mage confused and flushed. What was happening to him? What's going on? Hiromitsu was so puzzled. The warrior on the other side of the door was also in the same situation. Confused and flushed on what happened. Get yourself together, they told themselves.
