It went without saying that Mares and Felsen were being used and both knew that. Still, seeing that even the elders weren't all that stronger than them, whatever test they could pull wouldn't be too challenging.
It was better to quickly deal with it and then proceed for the meteor. Of course, there was also the need to be wary of the captain, whatever he was right now.
Talking about him, it seemed that the assumption that there were other villages around was correct, as the elders sent messengers to them, to warn about the water-controlling menace.
Yet Mares and Felsen had a strong feeling that it would be up to one of them to deal with the man. Perhaps it could be wishful thinking on their part, especially for Felsen, who just wished her revenge against the still unnamed man.
All of those things would have to be left for later as they had their test to do.
