Adam was confused. He looked at Arthur with a strange expression, causing Arthur to show concern.
"Are you okay?" [Arthur]
Adam blinked.
"Y… Yeah…" [Adam]
Though Adam tried to assure Arthur, he didn't seem convinced.
"If you need to rest, I can-" [Arthur]
"Nah. I'm fine. Just… I'm a little bit woozy right now." [Adam]
"Woozy…?" [Arthur]
Arthur was perplexed by the term, but he ignored it.
"...In that case, do you want to continue up the stairs?" [Arthur]
Releasing a somewhat shaky sigh, Adam stood.
"Yeah, let's go." [Adam]
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
The two ascended the stairs, eventually stopping upon seeing a familiar figure standing at the very top.
"How far you have fallen, Arthur." [???]
("...Typhon!") [Adam]
It was strange for Adam. Simply seeing the red knight caused his chest to ache.
"Good to see you too, Typhon." [Arthur]
A bead of sweat made its way down his cheek.
"Typhon, you wouldn't happen to turn a blind eye to us leaving?" [Arthur]
Typhon shook his head.
"I apologize." [Typhon]
"...Thought so." [Arthur]
Hearing the conversation, Adam was beginning to feel a sense of déjà vu.
("Wait a minute. Haven't I heard these lines before?") [Adam]
Typhon then placed his hands together as if he was praying.
"Requesting access to the celestial archive. Burn, and consume with the ferocity of a hungering serpent. Tenefidi." [Typhon]
Flames erupted from his hands, and a spear revealed itself from within.
("I HAVE seen this before!") [Adam]
By the end of it, Typhon brandished his double sided spear.
"Return to your cells, or step forward to be reduced to cinders." [Typhon]
Arthur gripped his sword.
"Adam, I'm only going to say this once. Don't die." [Arthur]
He then charged forward, forcing Typhon to clash blades with him.
"You cannot overcome me with a single arm, Arthur." [Typhon]
As the two fought, Adam made his way behind Typhon.
("If I remember correctly, this spear didn't do jack.") [Adam]
Staring at the spear he picked up from a guard, Adam tossed it aside.
"Los meas gundyr! Mind Arrow!" [Arthur]
The fight progressed to a point where Arthur fired a transparent arrow at Typhon, allowing Adam to come in and strike his opponent in the back of the head.
"Ngh!" [Typhon]
He staggered forward, turning to Adam with anger in his eyes.
"The companion? I couldn't feel his presence…! Does he not possess any mana?" [Typhon]
Adam smiled.
("Damn that hit felt solid.") [Adam]
Is what he thought while his hand throbbed from pain.
"I commend you for managing to strike me, but that shall be your last." [Typhon]
Adam took a moment to gulp nervously.
("...He really wasn't kidding about that last time.") [Adam]
Arthur pulled back a moment, readjusting his handling of his sword and unleashing a barrage of slashes at Typhon.
Just like Adam had seen before, Typhon grasped his spear and defended against Arthur skillfully.
("I see a chance!") [Adam]
Almost leaping forward, he froze.
("...I died last time I did this, didn't I?") [Adam]
He looked into Arthur's eyes, who silently urged Adam with just a stare.
("...I'll try to dodge it.") [Adam]
Adam felt hesitant, but he swallowed his fear. Ignoring his feelings, Adam rushed in.
"Enough." [Typhon]
Hearing a click, Adam saw the blade come straight towards him.
("There it is!") [Adam]
He moved to his left, clearly out of the blade's path. However, he soon felt a cold sharp pain in his chest.
"A-Adam!" [Arthur]
Looking down, Adam saw Typhon's sword lodged deep inside his chest.
"...Son of a-" [Adam]
Then it all went dark.
