Chapter 179 - Moving On...

Continuing on, Adam shattered the rest of Sin's shackles.

"...I can't believe you were able to do that." [Sin]

Rubbing his wrists, a sly smile came across his face.

"Seeing as you're willing to break my chains, how about I break our cell?" [Sin]

Cracking his fingers, he thrust out his hands towards one of the walls.

"O wisps of fate, lend me thy strength and pierce the starry fogs above. Dispel." [Sin]

Magic circles appeared around his hands, causing the wall before him to vanish. Adam's eyes went wide open, shocked to see the bars of a prison cell now revealed.

"Hey, bud. Can you pry these open?" [Sin]

"S… Sure…" [Adam]

Sin stepped aside, allowing Adam to approach the bars. He then took hold of two bars and began to pull them aside.

"Hrng!" [Adam]

Slowly, but surely, the bars bent. Within seconds, a space wide enough for them to pass through as made.

"I really have to consider what level you're at." [Sin]

Adam fell silent.

"...Level one." [Adam]

"Level what?" [Sin]

"One." [Adam]

Sin scratched his chin.

"I don't believe I've heard of that level before." [Sin]

"Really?" [Adam]

"Indeed. If I had to say, you'd be Mid to High-Grade. However, your strength would be at Peak-Grade." [Sin]

"...What?" [Adam]

Sin's words seemed to go over Adam's head.

"...Do you not know the strength ratings?" [Sin]

"I only know level 1 to 10." [Adam]

"Strange…" [Sin]

Sin gave Adam a puzzled look, but then quickly snapped back to reality.

"Anyway, we should go. The guards could be coming any second." [Sin]

Ushering Adam, the two slipped through the bars.

"Huh… Very medieval-like." [Adam]

He saw what looked like a depicted dungeon, unlike the monster filled caverns he was used to. Adam found himself standing in the middle of a long hallway, paved with stone bricks and prison cells that lined the walls.

"This way." [Sin]

Sin sprinted down the hall, carefully scanning his surroundings as Adam trailed behind.

"Stop." [Sin]

They came across an intersection. There were two paths they could take. The left had lights that flickered like a flame, whereas the right had no lights whatsoever.

"Damn… Stick to the walls." [Sin]

Adam and Sin hid around the corner and placed their backs flat against the walls. The light grew larger and larger. Soon, the two were able to hear voices approaching.

"Hey, did you hear?" [???]

"Hear what?" [???]

"The Sovereign of Faith appointed a new knight the rank of Titan." [???]

("Sovereign of Faith?") [Adam]

Surprised to hear that name, his curiosity grew. Slightly peeking around the corner, Adam saw two men strolling about with a spear and full plated armor. They were similar to the soldiers he saw from Askyros' point of view, but there wasn't anything inscribed on their chestplate.

"...It must be some privileged noble again." [???]

"Actually, I heard he was a commoner." [???]

"Really? That sucks." [???]

"Why?" [???]

"Because while that guy gets promotions, we're stuck patrolling this stupid dungeo-" [???]

Interrupting his sentence, Sin turned the corner and grabbed the guard's throat.

"Agh!" [Bewildered Guard]

"What the?! Hey!" [Alerted Guard]

The guard readied his spear, thrusting forward the moment he realized Sin lacked an arm.

"Oho?" [Sin]

Twisting his body, Sin repositioned himself. He then proceeded to slam his knee and elbow together, somehow catching the spear tip in between his joints.

"Huh?!" [Alerted Guard]

It was then that they heard a popping noise similar to a crack come from the bewildered guard's neck.

"Ah. Crap." [Sin]

The guard went limp, so Sin released him.

"Y-You killed him!" [Alerted Guard]

"No? I do admit I squeezed a bit too hard, but I only dislocated his neck." [Sin]

The guard was left baffled.

"Either way, that doesn't change what I'm about to do to you." [Sin]

Exerting strength into his elbow and knee, he shattered the spear tip.

"This strength…! High-Grade?!" [Alerted Guard]

Without saying another word, Sin sweeped the guard's legs.

"Eh?!" [Alerted Guard]

Next thing the guard knew, Sin held a broken blade fragment to his neck.

"You could say I'm a bit of a specialist in breaking things down. Be it guards or weapons." [Sin]
