After being accepted by the Golden Lion's disciplinary committee, the next few days went smoothly. School break started, but Adam still had to visit school daily. As per the new daily schedule, Adam met up with Klein in the disciplinary committee room.
"Adam, I'm going to need you to patrol these routes for the first day." [Klein]
Klein traced a finger on a map of school, causing Adam to nod as he listened along.
"What should I be looking out for?" [Adam]
"Anything suspicious. Like some guy glancing around nervously, or anything disruptive. You also should be actively speaking to lost people since it is most likely for them to ask for directions." [Klein]
("...Sounds kind of annoying.") [Adam]
"Well, what do I do for today?" [Adam]
"Glad you asked." [Klein]
Reaching into his pocket, he handed a sheet of folded paper to Adam.
"I need you to bring this to the construction site for the event." [Klein]
Adam inspected the paper, almost opening it up before Klein stopped him.
"Don't open it. That's for the workers." [Klein]
"...Am I not allowed to see it? It's probably just a blueprint right?" [Adam]
Klein shrugged.
"Not sure. The student council president passed it to me." [Klein]
"..." [Adam]
Giving Klein a weird look, Klein shook his head.
"Don't look at me like that. They're short on hands." [Klein]
Even after hearing his explanation, Adam remained unconvinced.
("Sounds pretty lazy to me.") [Adam]
"So… Do you know the way to the construction site?" [Klein]
"Hm… Not sure. Maybe?" [Adam]
"I can show you." [Erik]
Entering the room, Erik towered over Adam from behind.
"Oh, what's up?" [Adam]
"Nothing much. Hey, are you down to hang out after school?" [Erik]
"Sure. Where are we going?" [Adam]
The two spoke quite comfortably. It appeared that the arm wrestling match they had made them become closer.
"Stop. You guys can plan that later. Just go to the site." [Klein]
Hearing that from Klein, Erik did a quick salute.
"Yes sir~. C'mon Adam." [Erik]
"Uh, sure." [Adam]
Dragged along once again, Adam followed Erik around. The two walked past many buildings of different designs. One looked ancient, but still well cared for. One looked like it was brand new, but quite unclean. Another seemed to be empty, but students seemed to frequent it.
"Erik, mind telling me what those buildings are for?" [Adam]
"Hm? Oh, those." [Erik]
Scratching his chin, he thought of how to explain it.
"Let's see… The old building is a historical artifact. Nobody does anything there other than to admire or clean it." [Erik]
"What about that empty one?" [Adam]
"Ah, that. There's sound frequencies that make your body tremble. It's kind of a room specifically to make a person's body adjust to shock." [Erik]
"And that one over there?" [Adam]
"That's just a new building. A use hasn't been decided for it yet so it's just been collecting dust." [Erik]
"Huh…" [Adam]
Adam was a bit curious about the buildings, which Erik took notice of.
"...Do you want to check out the shock building later?" [Erik]
"Is that what it's called?" [Adam]
"Yeah. Most first timers can only last a minute before having to leave." [Erik]
"Oh? Alright, I'm down to go." [Adam]
He felt a bit excited, which was something that didn't get past Erik.
"...Only after our work, okay?" [Erik]
"I know, I know." [Adam]
The two moved quickly after that. Not too soon after, they arrived at a dome without any interior.
"This is it." [Erik]
"Cool. Now what do I do with this paper?" [Adam]
"..." [Erik] [Adam]
The two stared at each other with blank expressions.
"Uh… Why don't we go ask around? Look there's a worker right… there…?" [Erik]
He pointed to a man with a lab coat, which made him a bit confused.
"Did this guy get lost? Let's go speak to him." [Erik]
The two approached the man. His figure seemed to become more familiar as Adam approached, but he just thought it was a coincidence.
"Excuse me. Are you lost?" [Erik]
Tapping the man's shoulder, he turned to look at Adam with surprise.
"Mr. Frank?!" [Adam]
"Adam?!" [Mr. Frank]
