After a few seconds passed, Mr. Frank collected himself.
"...So, what are you doing here?" [Mr. Frank]
"I'm helping out." [Adam]
"Helping out?" [Mr. Frank]
Mr. Frank scoffed.
"You?" [Mr. Frank]
Crossing his arms, he gave Adam a smug look.
"What's that supposed to mean?" [Adam]
Giving Mr. Frank a weird look, he felt annoyed.
"It means that there isn't anything you can help with over here. Maybe if it was Felix? To be honest I wouldn't really want to deal with him either." [Mr. Frank]
"..." [Adam]
("Sometimes I don't think he's qualified to be an educator.") [Adam]
Unsure of what to say, Erik intruded with an:
"Uh… Bad time?" [Erik]
Giving Erik a strange look, he squinted his eyes.
"Aren't you… part of the disciplinary committee? What are you doing here?" [Mr. Frank]
Erik glanced at Adam, who then shrugged in reply.
"Do you want to show him, Adam?" [Erik]
"...Sure." [Adam]
Reaching into his pocket, Adam handed Mr. Frank the blueprint he was entrusted with.
"Hm? What's this?" [Mr. Frank]
Mr. Frank scanned the blueprint, eyebrows narrowing as he understood its structure.
"They really expect me to make this? That's… annoying." [Mr. Frank]
He turned to a few staff members patrolling the construction site and called out to them.
"We're ready! Call them over!" [Mr. Frank]
The staff members gave him an "ok" signal and exited the site. Moments later, a group of construction workers arrived.
"Hey, Frank!" [Cheerful Worker]
"Hey! Can you set up for now?! I need to create the materials!" [Mr. Frank]
The workers nodded and brought in what looked like parts for some kind of machine. They immediately started assembling the parts, turning it into a large operable mechanic arm.
"Oh, they're almost done. I better get going too." [Mr. Frank]
Raising his hands, a myriad of materials appeared out of thin air. Steel beams, large screws, metal plating, many kinds of wires, and a bunch of mechanical objects.
"Alright get moving!" [Mr. Frank]
Using his hands, he guided the workers. They placed and connected the materials given smoothly, working at speeds that seemed inhuman.
"...I guess our job here is done?" [Adam]
"I suppose so… You want to check out the shock room?" [Erik]
"Sure-" [Adam]
"Watch out!" [Panicked Worker]
A shadow was cast over Adam, who looked up to see a steel beam quickly descending upon him.
"What the-?!" [Adam]
"Dodge!" [Krino]
Adam considered the advice given, but realized there wasn't enough time. Using purely reflexes, Adam raised his arms and bore the full weight of the steel beam.
"Hrng…!" [Adam]
The momentum immediately went straight to his legs. Adam's knees bent, allowing the steel beam to hit his back as well.
"Withstand it!" [Krino]
The weight reminded him of the feeling of when Askyros was stepped on by a giant, but Adam thought it was nowhere near the same amount of effort required.
"This… Is… Nothing!" [Adam]
He felt his mana rising from within his stomach, slowly enforcing his strength.
"Wait! Don't do that!" [Krino]
Krino attempted to warn Adam, but it was too late. The steel beam reacted strangely, somehow suppressing his mana and causing it to rebound the effects.
"Ugh…!" [Adam]
Blood seemed to leak out of his mouth and a great pain burned in his stomach, but he continued to resist.
"Yaaah!" [Adam]
Letting out a cry and pushing with all his might, Adam threw the steel beam aside before dropping to his knees from exhaustion.
"Adam!" [Erik]
Rushing over to his side, Erik wore a worried expression.
"Your hands…! Your back…!" [Erik]
The coloration on Adam's back and hands started turning a shade of blue.
"Move!" [Mr. Frank]
Pushing Erik aside, Mr. Frank applied some kind of salve to Adam's bruises. He then turned to Erik with sweat dripping down his face.
"You! Take him to the infirmary! Now!" [Mr. Frank]
"What about the hospital?!" [Erik]
"This school's infirmary is better than a hospital!" [Mr. Frank]
Somewhat stunned by Mr. Frank's answer, Erik snapped out of it and picked Adam up.
"Hang in there…!" [Erik]
