"Help me, please," the boy pleaded, his hands shaking from fear, while the usually black horns atop his head of crimson hair were dull and grey from neglect.
"Sure, we'll help you." Madison smiled, jumping up from her place on the ground and standing tall as though the boy hadn't just knocked her down.
"We need to run-" He attempted to say, before gunfire rang out through the streets, causing the trio to turn quickly towards the ominous sound. Naturally, the crimson-haired boy yelped in fear and hid behind Elez, all while the Angel boy and his Captain were completely unfazed.
"Kaylo, come now. You shouldn't be bothering these innocent people." A voice echoed from nearby, as the civilians all around them began to run away in fear and terror of the gun shots that had been aimed towards the sky. "Why don't you come on back and finish paying that debt which your deceased parents so dearly owe me."
"M-mister Haven." Kaylo stuttered, cowering behind Madison and Elez while he spoke. "I finished paying it off last week! I was just-"
"You were just what?" The man growled, stepping out from the shaded alleyway nearby and looking down upon the trio with a glare. "Shut up and get back to the kitchen. Your debt is not fully paid, and you will pay it." He ordered, watching as Kaylo slowly stepped out from behind Elez and began his walk towards Haven. After only a few steps tho, he was stopped by a hand gripping tightly onto his shoulder.
"No," Elez said, pulling Kaylo back and stepping forwards to face Haven, while also guarding Kaylo with his body. "He's not going with you." He growled, raising his fists and preparing to fight the bear-like man before himself. Haven was what many would call a tank, a living embodiment of muscle, strength and power.
"You dare defy me?" Haven hissed, snapping his fingers as dozens of men flooded out from the alleyway behind him. Each and every member of his crew held a gun, and all of those guns were aimed at Elez. "That boy has been living with my group for years. I own him. And he owes me for the home I provide him." Haven hissed, lying about Kaylo's total debt. The crimson-haired boy had finished paying off his parents loan many years ago, but Haven kept him around for his skills.
"Fifty against two? Seems a little unfair, doesn't it?" Elez smirked, holding his fists out in front of himself and preparing to continue the fight.
"It's really not," Madison cut in. "I could beat all of them myself." She shrugged, earning an annoyed and offended gasp from Haven and his entire crew.
"You!" Haven yelled. "You think you can beat me?" He said, laughing along with his mocking crew.
"Yeah, easily." Madison grinned. "I just don't get why everyone thinks I'm so weak." She pouted, her cheeks puffed out like an adorably annoyed child. Elez prepared to make a point and reveal the truth to her, but shut his mouth and turned back at Haven.
"This guy is coming with us. If you've got a problem with that, then maybe we should chat about it." Elez smiled, cracking his knuckles in anticipation for a fight. Haven watched him curiously, but turned away and waved his hand.
"Shoot them down, I need to get out of here before those Navy guards come." He ordered, walking back down the alleyway that he came from, and leaving his fifty men to clean up his miss.
"Got a plan, Captain?" Elez asked, keeping a close eye on the loaded guns that were pointed directly at them.
"I don't like plans." Madison giggled, before gasping and pointing directly behind the group of gang members. "Oh my gods! It's The Demon King!" She screamed, easily faking a very convincing ounce of shock, and causing the entire group of attackers to turn back in fear and horror.
"Run along, Elez." Madison smirked, transforming into her dragon form while their attackers were faced away from them. Then, as the group of fifty members turned back in annoyance and anger, they were faced with the massive toothy smile of Madison's dragon form.
"Run for your lives!" One of them screamed, dropping their gun in fear and rushing off down the alleyway behind themselves. Others attempted to follow their lead, but Madison roared loudly and shook the buildings all around herself, before blasting the entire group with a huge flurry of lightning and thunder.
"Hell yeah!" Elez smiled, disobeying Madison's orders to run and instead standing to watch her glorious victory while Kaylo stood behind him in terrified shock and fear.
"S-she's a Dragon." Kaylo muttered, stepping back and preparing to run. "T-that's not possible." He said, only to be once again calmed and grounded by Elez's hand atop his shoulder.
"She ain't no ordinary Dragon," Elez smiled. "You shouldn't be afraid; she's the best damn Captain I've ever had." He assured him, looking back at Madison as she turned and smiled down on them, before quickly shifting back into her human form and bouncing over with a happy grin.
"All sorted." She said, turning to look at Kaylo while the boy stared back in wonder. "You're free now." Madison told him, but he didn't quite believe her words.
"No..." He mumbled. "I'm not free... Haven will come for me the moment he finds out that we escaped."
"Then I'll beat him up too!" Madison giggled, reaching up on her tippy toes and gently ruffling Kaylo's hair with her hand. "We'll protect you no matter what, pirates honour." She smiled, staring up at him with a bright and happy grin, watching as Kaylo silently stared back with a confused and puzzled expression.
"Let's just get back to the ship." Elez chuckled, reaching down and picking Kaylo up in his arms, making sure that the already injured boy wouldn't have to walk all the way down to the docks.
"That's a good idea." Madison giggled, watching as Navy soldiers came running towards the origin of gunshots. "Let's get out of here." She said, running away as quickly as possible, while Elez chuckled and took off into the air, soaring through the sky with Kaylo blushing and confused in his arms.
