After injecting Vera Scott with my venom I decided to wait for her to awaken, Collin took his clones out to bring in a few more canisters worth of blood. While I was waiting for Vera to wake up I used my access to keep tabs on a very important target.
Diego Fuentes, younger brother of Ricardo Fuentes who was the man I needed to invest in Starbreaker and get that blood. While we waited I noticed something was wrong, not with Vera but with Diego. I watched from a traffic camera as his vehicle was stopped in the middle of the street by a small blockade.
Two large black SUVs stopped in front of his car, men got out and pointed guns towards him. They dragged him into one of their vehicles and sped off.
"Fuck!" I swore aloud and rose to my feet. "Collin, get to the rover. Kirene, you wait here with Nia and bring Vera up to speed on the plan once she awakens. I have to see about the other half of my plan and make sure he stays alive."
Nia and Kirene nodded and sat with Vera, I followed after Collin who had grabbed his duffel bag filled with canisters. We reached the garage and rushed to the rover, I told Collin where to go as we tracked down my next thrall.
I watched the vehicles move through the streets and head to a very upscale part of the city, the traffic cameras would lose sight of my targets once they reached the residential area so I had Collin pull over. I took the speeder off of the rack and mounted the much faster vehicle.
I gave Collin my location as I went so he could follow, I raced ahead breaking several traffic laws and speed restrictions along with stop lights. With my overcharged reflexes I was able to travel at high speeds and react much more quickly than most Terran's.
I soon caught sight of my targets. They were turning into a gated community, the gate lifted when they came near, as they passed through the gate began to close. I increased my speed and raced for the gate, I had to duck close to the speeder as the gate would have decapitated me at my high rate of speed.
The gate closed shut and I breathed out a sigh of relief, though I wasn't sure how Collin would follow me past the gate but for now I needed to keep an eye on Diego. I chased after the SUVs for another 10 minutes until they pulled into a long driveway that led up to a large mansion.
'Oh Diego, what did you do.' I thought to myself as I saw a protectorate flag on the vehicles in the driveway. Men in black suits were guarding the house, they were all armed with sub machine guns and short swords.
These men most likely had abilities and anything that got hast the rain of abilities would face steel and all manner of lethal attacks. I stopped my speeder, there was now possible way to enter this mansion and escape with Diego.
I parked the speeder near some trees and hopped off, I summoned my blood claws and paid the hp price up to my elbows. I brought up my hood and mask and began to head towards the mansion, I may not be able to bring out Diego but I needed to know why they brought him here.
I could see quite well in the dark though I wasn't sure if it was my vampire side or my Abyss ability at play. I spotted an opening and dashed to the fence, I jumped and cleared the eight feet of wrought iron and rolled as I landed.
My roll turned into a sprint and I continued towards the mansion.
Once I was closer I spotted quite a few guards but I stuck to the shadows and moved closer, there was a balcony on the side of the house and not a lot of people would lock that up. I heard a rustle from my left, I ducked behind a bush and waited, two guards walked by.
"I swear Jim I saw something." a man's voice came from the guards.
"Shut up Kevin, every time you think there is something in the shadows. The last time I followed your lead I had my pay reduced for a month." a raspy voice responded to the first man's claims.
I waited as the duo's voices faded while they walked away.
I crept away from my cover towards the mansion wall, I was slightly to the left of the balcony when I began my climb, I leapt up the wall and put my claws into the wall. With a crunch my claws dug in, I climbed up the wall swiftly.
Parts of the wall crumbled under my claws which made climbing exceedingly more difficult then I expected. I reached the balcony in 30 seconds and landed on solid ground once more. I walked to the balcony door and quietly opened the door and slipped into the mansion, I walked along the second floor until I heard voices coming from the first floor.
I crept my way through the mansion and down the stairs before I was outside an open office door, I peeked around the corner to see a large desk. On it was a device from which a voice was speaking though I couldn't tell if it was a man or a woman.
"Alright Diego, thank you for reporting in. It was rather surprising to hear that the Falcone's robbed several factions' blood banks. Who all have they robbed so far?"
Diego read from a list I couldn't see, "The Police, Starbreaker, Frigid Temple, and Autumn Wind are the big groups they have been able to rob. There are several small factions that were looted as well, they have thousands upon thousands liters of blood, nearly draining half the city." he said in a slightly desperate voice.
I wasn't sure why Diego was so worried, but if that blood was being moved then it would be quite vulnerable in transit.
"Alright Diego, let us know when they are planning to move the blood. It will take a day or so to gather enough troops to take on the Falcones, with the blood as evidence we can finally get rid of that scum." the mystery voice nearly yelled back at Diego.
Diego saluted and made to stand, I immediately left my position by the door and hid in a darkened hallway. Diego passed by me on his way to the front door, I watched as they put a bag over his head and escorted him back to the SUVs.
I swiftly ran back up and out of my entry point, I looked below, no guards were nearby this time. I put my claws into the wall and jumped, I slid halfway down before I could feel my claws getting stuck. I pushed off the wall and back flipped toward the ground. After two flips I put out my feet and stuck the landing, before falling onto my ass. I was glad Collin wasn't here to relive this memory with the girls.
I got back onto my feet and ran back towards the fence, I cleared it and landed in a roll and before sprinting to my speeder. I messaged Collin to head back towards Diego's apartment, I had a feeling we could await my new spy at his home.
