Chapter 4 - Light house

" Doughy, don't run far, I can't reach you". Callum turned back to see little Chloe huffing and running to reach him. He stopped waiting for her to catch up " Chloe you need big legs, try to run fast ok, we are about to reach there". Chloe wrinkled her cute pert nose " but why are we going there. Callum grumbled " it is true little girls have brain pea size, yesterday I told you I will take you to my special place".

Chloe pouted " your brain is pea sized not mine, I have huge brain water mellon sized". Callum laughed imaging huge water melon in place of her head. He sat down near a rock " come jump on my back,I can't tolerate your small brain and legs". Chloe happily jumped on his back, humming a song totally forgetting his comment about her small brain. Finally they reached near a light house, it was an old dilapidated building but it was perfect spot for little kids to play around.

There was an old rickety staircase leading to the roof, Callum sat along with Chloe looking at the ocean. Chloe poked him " why are we here". " Hush " Callum scolded her " listen to the ocean, it is said the ocean call out to us when he wants to speak with us". Chloe made an " O " shaped mouth totally amazed. He pointed to the enormous light on top of light house.

Chloe followed his finger and looked at the huge light " what a huge light ". Callum nodded proud " my elder sister told me this light used to guide ships to reach ashore, I want it to guide my mother and sister back to us using that light. I am nervous they will forget the way, but Meli told me with this light will guide them to us". Chloe was entranced by all the stories that Callum told her. She whispered some words to the wind. Callum raised his eyebrow " what did you whisper".

Chloe looked at him innocently " I told all the plants around this place to tell me when your mother will back here ". Callum held her hands feeling thankful. Suddenly Callum turned behind to see some shadows lurking near the lighthouse. Feeling nervous he held her hand and ran back to his house.
