Chapter 9 - 5 Inches Away

'Oh! The enlightenment I had caused the Mastery of skills but only mastery of Class and subclass increased. And it seems like summoning a Zombie or Skeleton King is really hard. I have used the skill Hundreds of times but haven't summoned a single skeleton or zombie King.' Mizar thought as he went to the clan carrying the dead animals.

Time flew by and two months went by. In this time, Mizar collected a lot of coins by completing daily tasks and killing beasts. He also ground for Exp and levelled up to the upper stage Adept Mage. The stats point he gets from levelling up also increased from 2 points to 3 points. He was planning to explore the valley in the fog once he levels up to Junior Mage.

He came near the fog and summoned zombies and skeletons. These Zombies and Skeletons had weapons in their hand. Zombies had swords, sabres, daggers, etc. and skeletons had bows. They were all ordinary weapons that he bought in the clan market.

A silver bow formed in his hand from the tattoo on the back of his hand. It was an enchanted now that he bought in the system shop. He looked at the bow and a window showed up.

[Infinity Bow]

{This is a magically enchanted bow that doesn't need arrows, it uses arrows made of mana}

{ Mana Infinity: Arrows are automatically made using mana when firing}

{ Power Projectile: Farther the target, more the damage}

(Range: Affected by the skill and Cultivation of the user)

(Current Range: 350 metres)

(Attack: Affected by the Cultivation of the user)

(Current Attack +35)

There was one skill he got when he bought the bow; [Projectile]. It was a passive skill which helped the user become proficient in any projectile like spears, bows, crossbows, throwing bows, etc.

This skill measured distance, gravity, air pressure, airflow, etc. and calculated the angle and power the weapon should be thrown and gave the information to the user. The user himself had to adjust their power and angle. It was a hard skill to learn and get used to.

But Mizar didn't even know what angle was. Only after the system explained, did he grasp a little of it. So although having a great bow, he sucked at using it. Therefore, he used his intuition to fire the bow, sometimes it would hit the target, sometimes it would not. But he still practised using the skill, and he was improving day by day.

Mizar was now 100 metres away from the fog on top of the tree with his undead below. If his luck was bad and some flying beasts came, he would be screwed. Zombies would be useless and he didn't have much accuracy with bows. The only long-range attack was the Moonlight Blade, but its range was only 10 metres.

He then ordered one of the revived wild animals to go inside the fog. After a few minutes, some silhouettes of beasts could be seen. Mizar heaved a sigh of relief that no flying wild beasts came. The beasts that came were foxes.

The Zombies started attacking like all of it was familiar to them. The zombies tanked and skeletons started firing the arrows. At first, they didn't know how to use a bow, but Mizar taught them daily. They were all Mizar's Marked Undead, like specially trained elite soldiers.

After a while, many beasts died and 2 hundred beast Kings came out. Mizar knew that it was his time to act. He ordered the Zombies to slowly retreat and skeletons to fire and retreat at the same time. Then he sent the revived animals to the front lines to act as cannon fodder and started attacking using his bows. Every time he pulled the string of the bow, arrows would automatically be formed and when he released the string, the arrow would be fired.

He continuously fired the arrows, sometimes using his intuition, sometimes using the Skill. Some arrows hit the ground, some hit the Beast Kings, some hit his revived animals and some hit ordinary beasts.

Many shots were fired and one of the beast kings was lethally wounded. He ordered his skeletons to concentrate their attacks on that beast king, which pressured the cannon fodder animals and many zombies. Mizar then used his class effect to revive the dead foxes. At the first battle, he tried reviving the killed undeads, but it didn't work.

The revived foxes turned around and started attacking their fellow foxes. For some time, the group of foxes were in confusion which drastically decreased but after a scream from the Fox King, they started attacking again. But at this time, it was probably over.

The Fox King used the only magic attack it knew. After a while, despite its great struggle, the fox king and killed and the remaining foxes ran into the fog. Mizar let those foxes go, and he went to the two dead Fox Kings who were slightly larger than other ordinary foxes and tried to revive them. Poor Fox Kings, one of them died even before it could use its attack. He successfully revived both of the Fox Kings and repeated the earlier process of luring the beasts until the sunset. He then instructed his undeads to collect coins on the ground dropped by killing beasts.

As time went by, the number of revived animals reached the maximum number, so he discarded the ordinary beasts and only kept Beast Kings. The fight became easier and easier until he no longer had to pay any attention. After Sunset, he ordered all the revived beasts to go inside the fog.

It was unfortunate that he had no way to store them, otherwise, he could build a massive army of undeads. He also went to the clan carrying some animals. The place where he fought was soaked with blood. This was his daily routine for 2 months.

At night, he would summon a skeleton and send it back and forth to complete daily tasks. The only daily task he had yet to complete was killing 10 humans. Refreshing the task required 100 coins, which he wasn't willing to spend. The task wasn't completed, so it was stuck there and never changed. Other tasks changed once in a while, but it hasn't changed even once.

During the 2-month period, the clan had given him some missions. The clan gives a person 2 to 3 missions in a month. He didn't have the choice but to take these missions. He at least had the option to choose the mission. He earned quite a bit of mana Stones doing Clan Missions. Normally, people complete clan missions in a group, but Mizar soloed it. So he earned higher Mana Stones than others. But because of this, he could only choose indoor missions as mission outside of Mountain must be conducted as a group.

The clan also started to monitor him because of his absurdly fast growth. People in this continent cultivated by flowing the Mana from the surrounding inside their body and absorbing pure mana in it bit by bit. This process could be fastened by using Mana Stone as Mana Stones contain pure Mana in it. But even with Mana Stone, a person with low talent can't progress much as most of absorbed Mana gets dispersed before it gets to every cell in the body.

But Mizar kept breaking all the records for fast cultivation. Even with Super high talent, no one could possibly rival his progress.

The clan's monitoring division dispatched two Junior Mage for monitoring Mizar. They thought that they were monitoring Mizar, but Mizar was monitoring them. He had plenty of experience in this aspect. In his previous life, it was one of the tactics his Stepfather used against him.

Mizar sometimes let them follow him so as to not attract more people to monitor him. But when he had some serious stuff to do, he would dodge their pursuit by using different means. Many times he didn't even go back to his home and sat in a natural cave in the Mountain.

Just because they were monitoring him, he didn't stop grinding for exp. At last, they found nothing and connected it to the inheritance and loosened the monitoring a bit. It gave Mizar a chance to catch his breath.

Now that he invented a new technique to increase the exp, his cultivation was faster than before. He can hunt as many beasts as he wants.

The sun rose in the morning, but it was late than Mizar. Mizar got up early and started his morning exercise. After strength hit 10 points, the points haven't increased by exercise at all, but he still did it.

When he was about to finish his exercise, he saw a huge green pig with many buildings above it come towards the clan. This was the merchant caravan.

Mizar finished his exercise and went to the clan. The pig slowly came up the mountain. Other people also slowly started noticing it. The news of the merchant caravan coming to the clan spread instantly.

The pig finally climbed the mountain. When the pig came near the clan, it became soil and rock and broke up. The broken soil and rocks fell down. Some rocks didn't fall down and stayed in the air. The building was on the rocks and it looked as if they were on a floating island. They looked magnificent. The soil and rocks also started floating up and formed stairs from the ground and finally connected to the buildings in the air. It was a sight to behold.

The Clan Leader personally came and climbed the stairs step by step to greet the leader of the Caravan. After getting permission from the Clan Leader, many people rushed up to the stairs.

Mizar went to his home to "take out" his Mana Stones. After all, he couldn't pull them out of nowhere in front of everyone. According to the leader of the caravan, the caravan would stay there for 3 days.

Mizar also went up the stairs. When he reached the top, he could see a broad pathway with stalls on the sides with people shouting here and there.

In those stalls, there were only mortals. It was for the mortals. Mizar walked past the stalls and a huge gate appeared before him. There were many people standing before it. They still hadn't opened the gate. Mizar then heard someone shout, " Whoever can open this gate will get a green token. Using this green token, the price of everything you purchase will be halved."

Many peoples started becoming excited about hearing it and went up to challenge. There were people, some were clapping, some cheering, some booing. Mizar was annoyed by it. He just wanted to get this over with.

2 hours went by and the gate still wasn't opened by anyone. People were still high-spirited but Mizar was completely annoyed. He tried going twice so that it could be over, but other people kept overtaking him. His voice got suppressed by the noise of the crowd.

Mizar was a low-key person, he didn't want to attract attention but today he couldn't hold it anymore and he shouted, "SHUT UP! ALL OF YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!"

The noisy crowd became silent all of a sudden. Mizar started walking towards the gate and people started making the way but before long someone shouted.

"Who the hell are you to tell us to shut up?"

Other people also started following him and shouted.

"Yeah. Who are you? How dare you yell at us?"

"Hey, isn't that the previous clan head's douchebag son."

"Yeah. He looks different now. But if you think that you could use the authority of Previous Clan head, you are greatly mistaken."

"Do you think you're still the young master of the clan? And do you really think that you can open this gate or are you going there to beg for them to open the gate? Hahaha, good strategy."

"Hahaha..."

"...."

Different insults, mockery, sarcasm came out of the mouth of people, but Mizar didn't pay it any attention and made his way in front of the gate. He raised his hand, formed a fist and punched the gate. People were still mocking him. But after the punch landed, all noises came to stop again.

The gate flew 10 metres before stopping and crashing on a building. This one punch silenced them all. Mizar entered slowly through the broken gate until he faded out of their view, but the memory of Mizar punching the gate was still fresh in their mind.

What was more astonishing was that the punch didn't even land on the gate, it landed on the air 5 inches away from the gate!
