Mizar bought the contract from the shop. His heart ached to see the coins decrease but he consoled himself looking at his level. He grabbed the contract that was floating in the air.
It was a stone tablet that was half black and half white. At the back of stone tablets, some words in ancient language were written. He didn't know how to read it but the system thankfully translated it and a panel with the translation of text appeared before Mizar.
[Each party chooses a colour. After the contract is established, the stone tablet will break into two half, one white and one black. The half tablet would go to the respective owner of the colour. If one party does something good for others, a spot of their colour forms in other's half. If they do something bad, the stone breaks and the broken piece will join the other half. If any party breaks all of their halves, then heavy consequences and possibly death will be penalized according to collected Karma. If the colour of the other party covers your tablet, then you have to become a slave to them.]
"Whew, that was a lot. So how do I use it? I guess I just have to choose a colour? Then I choose black."
Something came out of Mizar's soul, he didn't know what it was. This something was like alive and dead, invisible and visible, of different shapes at the same time. Its properties were vague. He understood that it was for the contract and told the voice to say it too.
For the first time, Mizar heard the voice of that thing outside his head. Whenever that thing spoke inside his head, it would be in Mizar's voice. So Mizar never really heard his voice. His voice was like that of a post-teen male. The voice whispered difficulty; maybe due to not knowing the language of due to it possibly being weak. It didn't even say the whole sentence and spoke even one word with great difficulty.
"Whi...te"
The same thing as Mizar happens to it. From inside the light, something came. The stone tablet absorbed both of those things and shone like crazy. It was as bright as the light that was trapping the owner of the voice. He didn't know why this was happening or what he was supposed to do, so he just waited and did nothing.
The light shone for about 2 minutes before it became dim again. But the stone slab was different from before, it was more lustrous. The tablet broke into perfect two half like it was slashed by a sharp sword.
The black half went to Mizar and the white half went towards the light. But it couldn't proceed forward through the light.
Both halves of the stone tablet shined again. Both of them started to shrink and from that of arm size, it became, palm-sized. The light started showing cracks and it broke like glass.
After the light broke, it evaporated and a big ball of gas could be seen. From the ball of gas, came a tiny translucent person. From what Mizar knew, he figured out it to be a soul.
'Run, this ball of gas will explode and it will cover hundreds of kilometres of area. If you don't run, you will become a dried mummy as you have mana assimilated into every cell of your body. Run!'
Mizar didn't understand a thing it said. But seeing that ball of gas expanding like that and the urgent tone of the soul, he understood that something dangerous was about to happen here.
The soul also realized that he was speaking in a foreign language again and said in another language.
'Run... Far... Very very Far... Explode' The soul said pointing at the ball of gas.
"How the hell am I going to run very very far. Wait let me see if there's anything in the shop." He scrolled through the shop chanting "Very far very far" and a whole list of teleportation scrolls, potions, spells came up.
He looked at one of the scrolls and clicked it. It was a [100 km teleportation jade], a one-time use item and it cost a fucking 2001 coins. This system was trolling with him. Mizar only had 2000 coins.
"Fucking piece of shit, asshole. I AM ABOUT TO DIE YOU MOTHERFUCKER!" Mizar started cursing at the system. Mizar regained his cool and looked for other items. He found a lesser version of the [100 km teleportation jade]; [10 km teleportation paper].
The function of teleportation jade and teleportation paper was simple. The teleportation jade teleported at the random location, 100 km to 999 km from the original location. Likewise, teleportation paper teleported to a random location, 10 km to 99 km from the current location.
But today it seemed like the system was celebrating Aprils fool. The price of teleportation paper was 501 coins. If it was 500 coins, he could buy 4 but with 501 coins, he can only buy 3 teleportation paper. Mizar wanted to curse at the system but he didn't have time for it. He bought 3 teleportation paper. His remaining coins were all spent but he didn't have time to worry about him.
He was flying when he was doing all this stuff. The ball of gas was expanding and it looked like it was about to reach its maximum expansion. The soul was sitting on the shoulder of flying Mizar.
Mizar tore the paper to activate the teleportation. The teleportation jade and paper were like his previous world. These types of things were used often in his previous life.
Just as Mizar activated teleportation, all the fig around the valley got sucked towards the gas ball and the gas ball contracted to a small ball size of a marble. It like a silence before the storm.
Few milliseconds after Mizar teleported, the tiny gas ball exploded like someone dropped a ton of nukes.
Outside the clan was doing their usual thing. This all things sound a lot but it all happened within seconds. The clan didn't even know what happened before they died becoming a mummified corpse but the mortals survived.
The concentration of this gas was far greater than what Mizar experienced in the fog. The concentration of fog was 0.1 % of that of this gas. Even Immortal Mages would have a hard time surviving a few minutes inside this gas.
Like a huge explosion, the gas was rapidly expanding in all direction. Mizar got lucky and teleported 50 km in his first teleportation. Without hesitating for a second, he tore another teleportation paper. He was not so lucky this time and only managed to teleport 13 km.
He tore the third one, this time he teleported 30 km between the fight of two Junior Mages. The two Junior Mages hadn't even noticed the gas coming their way. One of the mages was using his finisher move called Mana Punch. Mizar was directly teleported in front of the attack and was sent flying about 40 km with that punch.
The mages were caught by the gas and they died the next second but at least they saved Mizar. The gas kept expanding and stopped when it was around 5 km away from Mizar.
In the middle of a forest, a person was lying motionless covered in blood. All his ribcages were broken, chest caved in most of the bones broken and barely alive. It was Mizar. He thought a few words before he fainted.
'This motherfucking system and the motherfucker who made it. I will fucking kill you one day!'
