Chapter 15 - Invincible Scarfed Demon

Celina and the group finally arrived on the rear side of the barrier. Only the vast forest lied behind the town hall since it was the town's outer border. They will evacuate the mages on the woods after they execute their plans.

They turned their attention to the demons on the area, and as expected they were few and sparsed compared to the front side, the demons battered the barrier endlessly like some sort of madmen. Fortunately there was no elite demons on sight, only the weaker ones, they were confident they could take them on.

Celina took the led, then swung her blade upon the demon that charged towards her, after a slash it splattered a purplish blood.

Shiela assisted Celina as Celina dove right into the demons, her palms spew out streams of liquid on the demons, it distracted them and caused them to become unsteady. Celina took the oppurtunity and pierced the demon's forehead. Turner was close to her, he covered her as he quickly cleaved the demons on her blind spot. The boy was just hiding behind Shiela, they were on a safe distance and the demons were only heading to Celina and Turner.

Turner chuckled. "I didn't know you were this good." He said.

Celina smiled. "I used to be better, I think I got rusty when I devoted my time on learning spells."

There were about ten scattered demons charging upon them, it would be impossible to take them on at the same time. Celina took a deep breath, and crimson mana gushed out from her body. "Body enhancement!" She casted under her breath. Power were surging upon her body and she felt even more alive.

It was the best time to utilize her borrowed mana, when she glared upon the demon, she tried to concentrate, applying a Zen technique as well and in a flash she zipped through five demons and slashed their chests open. Applying Zen and mana techniques will allow her to go beyond her limit, however unlike Zen her borrowed mana had limits so she had to use it wisely.

Turner charged upon the other demons and used his knife to stab their chest, when a demon were about to attack him his back, Shiela was their to cover him. They continued their tandem until only one demon was left, the demon sneered, spun and turned tails.

"Celina we can't let him go, it will alert the other demons!" Turner said.

Celina sneered when she realized it would be bad for the demon to escape, thus she pursued the fleeing demon. She felt she could only cast a basic spell six times judging from the remaining mana on her body, however she had no choice but to cast another one. "Body enhancement!" Her body started to glow, strength surged unto her muscles.

Her footsteps became heavy and her strides became more agile, she went even faster than the demon, and when she got close she swayed her blade unto the demon's neck. Blood gushed out, his head got flung and the demon's headless body hobbled until it collapsed like a sack.

Celina landed with her sword trickling with demon blood, she took a deep breath and jolted her blade attempting to remove the blood. "Now it seems, I can only cast a spell five times."

The area was strewn with disgusting demon corpses and blood, that she clipped her nose from the slimy stench. However just close to her, she felt an awful presence, it somewhat shook her soul and caused her heart to race. When she turned her head upon the western side of the mansion she saw a fearsome demon, sitting still as though without care of the world, its face was curtained by his tall black hair. Right now it didn't seem to notice her since it remained unbothered, she sneaked away hoping it wouldn't notice her.

When Celina met with the three, she panted and leaned upon her knees as she rested herself. "There's still an elite demon." She said.

Turner gasped in dismay. "Really? Then this is bad."

Shiela had a worried look. "What should we do?"

Celina noticed the boy quickly approached and pressed his arms upon the barrier, he had a concerned look as he called out on top of his lungs. "Sister! I'm here."

Celina sighed. "I don't know what to do, but if in the worst case we'll have to fight." She said with her voice fading.

Turner turned to the barrier. "Hey anyone there!" He screamed, but was answered with silence.

Both girls worriedly gazed at the scene. "We need to tell them we're here." Said Celina.

"Anna, where are you?" Said a maid straying around the tight hallway with a concerned face, looking for someone. When she heard a noise coming from the outside, she peeked through the window she was nearest from, upon gazing outside she saw demon corpses strewn around the place. It seems they got taken care of. With their puple blood painting the ground, her attention was taken when there were humans standing outside the barrier.

She gasped, then went away, she lifted her skirt as she jogged through the corridor, moving through the stairs in a hurry and then she found herself emerging through the backdoor.

She attended the outsiders who seemed to be mages and a swordsmen, then her eyes fell gazing upon the boy who were eager to come inside. "Young master, you're here, thank goodness I was worried." She said.

"Where's Anna?" The boy said with a demanding tone.

"She's inside, and who are these people?" The maid said.

"These are mages from the capital, they want to help us escape, also can you tell my idiot father that we're here." He said.

The maid nodded, and hastily left them to their own.

Celina got surprised and turned to the boy. "You never told us your father was a noble." She said.

The boy chuckled, they then settled down as they waited.

Turner sighed. "It must be nice being a noble, huh? I was raised by a farmer and life was very bland for me."

The boy had a dubious snort. "I'd rather be a cool soldier than do nothing but study and inherit a land, I hate being a noble, I wanna be like you guys." He said with glee.

Inside the townhall, the air was tense, it drove the people inside to nearly choke, the threat outside kept poking on them that it caused the hair on their skins to roll up. It was an endless agony, waiting proved to be painful as well since anxiety were eating their nerves.

Baron Shelmorn sat close to the citizens may they be low or high class, he never discriminated, all human beings were similar regardless of classes. And everyone can be a victim of those ferocious and violent race.

The maid urgently approached the Baron. "Lord Shelmorn, there are mages who want to help us and your son is safe."

Baron sprang up with his eyes widened. "Really?" He gasped in relief.

The maid nodded.

"Then let us now evacuate, tell everyone on the mansion to get ready." The Baron said.

As the team nonchalant stoodby Turner had his eyes on high alert, sweeping the landscape around them to and fro, while Celina was in a deepthought.

The air went dreary quickly when they heard a rough muffling noise, as though footsteps grating on the coarse ground. Celina and the team became stiff when they noticed an approaching demon, the demon breathed lifelessly as he gaited slowly. He was the dark haired demon earlier, and their world quickly went down as they firmed their stances. He walked awkwardly with his arms hanging and swaying like a pendulum, his back hunched. Its uncanny behaviour alone caused their skins to become uneasy.

"Hey seriously, there's still an elite demon here?" Turner said worriedly.

Celina hoisted her blade and faced the demon. "Shiela help me." She said.

Shiela nodded and took her stance as well.

Turner pointed to himself. "Hey what about me?"

Celina mustered a smile upon him. "Help the others evacuate, we can take care of this."

Turner sighed. "Hey, I should be the guy here and the one who'll protect you ladies."

Shiela jabbed his head which caused Turner to wince in pain. "We have no time for this, Turner."

Turner nodded shyly. "Yes ma'am."

Radmun stood as he gritted his teeth, he used to know no fear when he fought against the demon, however right now his instincts urged him to flee. The demon emanated a frightening presence, like howls of fear were being thrown at Radmun, it caused Radmun to shiver slightly. It drained away his will like he was being torn down by anxiety.

Radmun slapped his cheeks, he breathed hard and returned to his senses. "Damn it, why am I scared?" When he rubbed his face, his sweat soaked his forearm, he sighed, he didn't want to admit it but he was timid.

The demon infront of him was confident and mighty as a warhorse, his eyes were deep and unperturbed as though nothing could stand against his path. The demon aimed his fingers upon Radmun, in a sudden, his sharp fingers shot our from his arm, it flew like bullets and Radmun swayed his body sidewards barely dodging it, the tunic on his side got grazed and there was a shallow cut on his skin.

It stung him a bit, he casted his spell and fired again with his blazing arrow, while on midair it split into five, and all were heading to the demon. The demon took all of the attacks except for one arrow that flew towards his chest, in which he blocked it by using his arm as a shield.

Radmun grinned. "I see, that's why I found it odd a while ago you've been dodging some of my attacks, you're weakness is your heart, huh?"

The demon grunted. "That knowledge won't assist you in anyway."

Radmun lifted a wide smile, confidence were seeping back into his body. His body billowed in red dancing smoke, it illuminated a faint crimson glow upon the walls of the buildings. "Lomin, I summon thee." He said.

In a flash a giant, crimson bull got conjured in the air, it charged straight into the demon with its head first, it slammed upon the demon and pinned him upon the wall. The demon was locked since the bull pressed its head upon his chest. The demon flailed his arms and punched the bull's forehead in a desperate attempt to escape from its grip.

"Let go me of spirit beast!" The demon hissed.

Before the demon even realized it, Radmun casted a grin as he glowered upon the demon, he stood atop the bull with his bow nocked ready and already aimed upon his heart at close range. "I was entertained but I have to kill you now." Radmun said.

The demon sneered, and roared. "Damn you!"

"Fiery burst!" Radmun said and fired an arrow that pierced the demon's chest, the demon spat blood and dropped upon the bull. The bull shook its head and threw the lifeless demon's body away.

Radmun laughed as he placed his arms on his hips. "That's was so cool Lomin, haha, well then, we have to go to miss Celina and the others." He turned around and strutted away

The bull followed his trails. "Yes Master."

Behind him the demon lied flat on the ground, his fingers slightly flinched and his eyes popped open.

In a sudden a tall, thin sharp blade struck Radmun's leg, pain pulsated on his thigh, Radmun groaned in anguish as he cringed inward.

"Master!" The bull said worriedly.

The bull spun and noticed the demon was still alive, it elongated its fingers several feet high only to pierce through Radmun's leg.

The demon's sharp fingers shrunk and retreated, Radmun fell on his knees, while the demon stood again from the ground with its injuries healing.

Radmun gasped. "You're still alive you bastard?"

The demon grunted. "I forgot to mention I could also move my organs around my body."

"Damn it." Radmun cursed.

Don spectated on a roof of a building, he sensed a fear looming close, he turned his head to the north and peered into the horizon. "Shit."

On the northern border of the town, dark, thick clouds were blanketing the landscape, it drew closer to the town, the gloomy clouds wailed streaks of lightning. Underneath the dark clouds was a figure with a dotted glowy red eyes, its piercing bloody tinted eyes assessed the town coldly.

And Don trembled as he gulped hard. "Damn it, it's too soon."
