Chapter 7 - Part 6

Sebastian, true to his word, became overprotective of me. I did everything I could to avoid the General. Sometimes, when we are out in the open, playing basketball, I could feel his eyes on me. It was hard pretending he was not even there, but,  I had to.

When we were taken out to the workshops to work, he tried to talk to me, but, each time, Sebastian stood beside me and never left my side. I could see the irritated look he always had on his face when he saw Sebastian with me.

For days, he did not bother me. He never asked to call me to come clean the office. I wondered who was doing my job. Maybe, he had gotten someone else who would take my place. He did not talk to me throughout these days.

Two weeks later

It was already night. Sebastian was already asleep. I was finding it difficult to sleep. I was very sleepless. I was having a feeling like I was being watched but each time I got up to look, I found no one. I don't know why, but, I was feeling anxious, very anxious.

Slowly, I felt sleep taking over me. Before I realised I was fast asleep.

A few moments later, I felt a hand on my mouth. It was one of the prison officers. The very one who was always sent by General to come for me.

" Why are you here? What do you want?" I asked. I was scared but I did not want it to show.

" I just came here to take you somewhere. Someone wants to talk to you, so why don't you come down from there?" he gestured with his hand.

I looked at him, a bit skeptical then jumped off my bed. I looked down and found Sebastian's bed surprisingly empty. Where could he be? I thought.  That was when I felt someone cover my mouth and nose with something. Then, I blacked out.

I woke up in a place that looked like a warehouse. How did I even get here? What's going on? Where am i? All these questions were bothering my mind when I heard a voice coming from the dark. The whole room was lit by the small bulb in the middle of the room.

It took a while for me to get used to the light. " Who are you?" I asked. Everything still felt dizzy

The man moved forward and I realised who it was.

" No, you can't be here. Where am I? Where is this place? Why am I tied up like this?" I began to raise my voice at him.

What followed after my outburst just took me by surprise. General raised his hand and slapped me. He raised his hand on me. I never expected that from him.

" Don't you ever raise your voice at me again? How dare you?!" he warned.

I was very frightened being alone with him. I did not want to be anywhere near him. And the look he had in his eyes now, scared me much more. I was breathing heavily now. I was tied to the chair and my arms were beginning to hurt.

" You know, I have a surprise for you. I am going to untie you, but,  you must promise you are not going to do anything funny. Or else, I won't hesitate to hurt you more. Do you understand?" he said with a wicked grin

I frowned a little and nodded.

True to his word, he untied me and led me to a different part of the warehouse. The place smelled funny and also looked quite scary. As we got nearer,i could hear the cry of someone. It felt like whoever it was, was in a lot of pain. I could hear other voices in the room as well. They sounded like they were laughing.

I was not prepared to face whatever was coming my way. But, I had no choice than to be a man and face it head on. General opened the door, and ushered me inside. The voices became much clearer and the cries were less distant now.

A man had been chained up. His hands were in the air, in chains as his feet dangled. He was bare chested and there was so much blood on his body. He looked like he had been beaten for a long time and whip marks could be seen on his back.

I was horrified. Who would do this to a person? I looked back at general and saw that he still had that evil grin on his face. Oh, how I wish I could just wipe it off!

" Don't you want to know who that is?" he pointed at the man who was being tortured

I looked at the man again. I could not see his face from where I was standing. His back was facing me. When the two other men in the room saw us approaching, they stopped beating and torturing the poor man and stood at the corner of the room. I looked at them in disgust and anger.

I walked and got in front of the man. But I was taken aback in shock.

"Sebastian?!" I asked still in shock.
