Chapter 14 - Chapter 14

Aili's P.O.V

It had been weeks since then; Liz was right when she said that Tracy was a good shoulder to cry on. Almost as good as her own. I cried on her shoulder almost every night and every morning when I woke up with the bed still empty after dreaming of an enjoyable night with her. But that day, I had a feeling that everything was going to change, that my dreams wouldn't be dreams any longer. No matter that feeling that I woke up with, I still cried when I woke up without her next to me.

"It's fine," Tracy said, rushing in as I started crying, "she's almost better; remember she told you that last week."

"But she's not here," I cried out, "I've woken up in a bed without her for six weeks, and she's still not here. It keeps breaking my heart that she's not here. It breaks my heart whenever I wake up and do not see her there. I get up to look for her, only thinking that she woke up before me. But minutes later I remember that she's in that hospital. She can still get sick and die there," I finished with my rant. After which, I curled up into a ball on the bed and continued crying. "I want her here, I want her home," I said in my ball as I felt circles being rubbed on my back which only wore my usual sports bra.

"I know you want her here; I want her back here too," Tracy said

"But you don't know how much it hurts me that she almost died to save me," I shot back at her. "It hurts so much more that I can still feel her pain as well," I added

"Have you checked your arm yet," Tracy asked as the circles continued, and I shook my head. "Why don't you? She might've written something," she suggested, and I checked it in a huff

Amongst all of the crying and pain in my own heart, I failed to notice the faint feeling of Liz writing on my arm. It was three simple words that made my heart stop in shock

'Look behind you'

I looked up at Tracy to see her, not the one rubbing circles on my back. It was only then that I noticed the bed sinking around us. I looked behind and saw the smile that I love so much, looking back at me with tearful grey eyes.

"Liz," I exclaimed, jumping for her, "you didn't tell me you were coming back today," I added with a glare.

"She didn't tell me either; I was followed in here by her when I heard you crying," Tracy admitted

"Sam drove me back in your car then disappeared," Liz started explaining. "I wanted to surprise you this morning. It looks like that my plan went well," she said as I clung to her, more tears streaming down my face as joy overcame me more than the sadness that I had this morning.

"You are so going to die, Layzer," I grumbled, "I was supposed to be updating both mine and your mother."

"Oh, I already took care of that and asked for them not to come since we probably need some time together that is well overdue," she said with a chuckle. "Do you want to kill me though, you just spent weeks without me crying endlessly as what Tracy told me you weren't as fine as you told me you were."

My head lifted from the warm chest of my soulmate only to glare at Tracy then resume its resting place.

"What was that glare for," Tracy asked in shock, "I was requested to report on you at all times," she said. "I was also requested to take care of you as much as possible as well. I only did it because I care for you, and Liz would probably kill me if anything happened to you."

"That I would," she said, and I chuckled into Liz's chest from which I could hear her beating heart. "Could you give us some time alone to cuddle and spend time with each; I think we both need it."

Tracy nodded before leaving the room, closing the door behind her, "I missed you so fucking much," I mumbled into her chest.

"I missed you too," she said, running her hand through my hair, "would you please move so I can rest up against the headboard. I can't do a lot, but I can hug and cuddle you," she said. I nodded into her chest before letting go of her so she could move.

"Please don't ever say something like that to an intruder ever again," I mumbled as I crawled into her lap, placing my head on her stomach.

"I won't," she said with a chuckled, "I promise."

With that, not a lot of things happened. Both Liz and I fell asleep together as the soft feeling of her playing with my hair lulled me to a peaceful sleep. When I had changed her bandages, I noticed her breasts were almost gone and a scar over her heart.

"What was injured," I asked her, placing my hand lightly on the scar before I treated it and rewrapped it.

"The bullet went right through me, only scratching the heart," she started explaining, "the only reason I had to fight for my life was because of the amount of blood that I lost."

"Well, at least you won the fight for your life. I don't know what I'd do without you," I said, covering the scars as she explained.

"What would happen to you if my name disappeared," she asked me

"Sam told me that I had a choice between joining you in the afterlife or keep living finding a soulmate that didn't have a name on their wrist either," I answered

"What would you have chosen," she asked me as I finished

"I would've kept living because I'm pretty sure you'd want me to keep living no matter what happened," I answered, looking into her eyes. "I would live for as long as I could, and I wouldn't stop thinking about you," I added, and she smiled

"That's what I would've wanted," she said, and then we kissed

With her healing, we didn't have sex that night since her heart couldn't take it, but she gave me the time of my life even without having sex

I had her back with me
