Chapter 29 - 29

Denise placed her hand on Harold's right cheek. "I love you too, very much. I have been afraid to let you know how I feel because I was scared of my own feelings. I was scared that I would do something stupid by rejecting you. You have been the only man who has remained loyal to me ever since I met you."

Harold closed his eyes and leaned in. He loved the feeling of having Denise's hand on his face. it calmed him. Her voice sounded like a beautiful song in his ear as she told him how she felt about him.

"I guess I was scared I would be broken-hearted again. But, I do love you Harold, and that will never change." she smiled at him with tears in her eyes.

Harold opened his eyes and saw the tears that were threatening to fall from Denise's eyes. Some actually had the nerves to fall from her eyes, and he slowly wiped them off with his thumb. Denise is his delicate flower and he was ready to make her feel that way. She had just come out of another unfruitful relationship and may need time. Harold was ever ready to give her the time she needed.

"Denise, can I please kiss you? I really want to kiss you. And I don't want to steal it from you either." Harold whispered.

"Harry, yes. You don't have to ask," she replied.

They both leaned into each other. Their lips brushed against each other and it felt like an electric jolt had just passed through them. Their hearts were thumping in their chest wildly. When their lips touched, everything seemed to have come to an abrupt stop. It seemed like the world was just standing and staring at them, as they kissed each other. The kiss was passionate and full of love. It was not needy. It was just soft and sweet. Both of them were breathing hard and their lips moved in sync with each other.

They had both kissed other people before. But what they felt when they kissed each other was nothing compared to the ones they had with others. Harold was falling into the kiss, enjoying Denise's lips on his. Ever since the kidnap incident, he had always wanted to kiss her. But, he always stopped himself at the last minute. Now that it was finally happening, he wanted to give it his all. He slowly pulled Denise towards him and held her close as she explored his face with her hands.

After a while, they broke the kiss. They both wished it did not have to end. But, they knew they would have many more kisses in the future and did not want to rush it. Both of them were panting now and looking at each other in the eye. Denise broke into a nervous smile, and Harold soon followed her. They both blushing so hard. Harold had imagined how his first kiss with Denise was going to be like, but this was nothing close to it. This was just perfect. They had just shared their first kiss in their favorite spot. And this made the whole thing look even more wonderful.

They had their foreheads placed on each other while they giggled. Denise pushed back a little, while Harold held her to get a better view of his face.

"Harry, in as much as I love you, I will be very happy if we took things slowly. I don't want us to rush anything. Let's just enjoy each other's company and allow the rest to follow." she said.

"I don't mind, Denise. I am ready to wait for you. I don't care how long it takes. We will do things your way. I just want you to be happy and be smiling like this every day."

Denise smiled even more. She felt so loved. She was almost giving up on love, only to find it in the place she would never have thought of. Harold looked at her with so much love. His eyes held all honesty and his lips spoke only the truth. She knew Harold would never hurt her but she was just scared. She was scared of being alone again. she decided to take it out of her mind and enjoy this time with Harold.

"I think we should head back now before your mother starts looking for us," Harold announced and got up from the bench.

"Can't we stay a little bit longer? I really want to stay here with you for a while," Denise complained.

"I want that too. But, we wouldn't want your mother coming all the way here to come watch us, would you?" Harold laughed at her childishness.

"You don't want my mother to know about us?" She asked, feeling a bit nervous.

"Of course I do. But, it should be at the right time. For now, let's go back," he stretched forth his hand towards Denise, who took it with a smile.

They headed back to the house, hand in hand, while they laughed on their way. They got to the house and stopped in front of the porch.

"I will see you later, Denise. I love you."

"I love you too, Harry." She quickly hugged him and he returned the hug.

Harold turned to go to his room but Denise called out his name. She ran to him and kissed him on the lips again. Harold held her by the waist and deepened the kiss. The kiss felt so good. It was just perfect. They broke the kiss again after some time.

"I will see you later too, Harry." Denise smiled seductively at Harold and walked back into the house.

Harold let out a deep breath when he got inside his room. He touched his lips and closed his eyes, trying to imagine Denise's lips on his. Each time he thought about the kiss, it felt unbelievable to him. It all felt like a dream. At his mother's suggestion, he had decided to have enough courage to tell Denise how he felt. He was so happy he did. He had to thank his mother for that. He smiled to himself and threw himself on his bed, his mind wandering to the kiss again.
