Tina stood behind Harold and gently tapped him on the shoulder. Harold turned to face her.
"Madam wants to see you. She says it's important she speaks with you."
"Where is she?"
"At the library."
"Okay. Thank you." Harold walks into the house and steps into the library after he knocked on the library door. The too was not that big yet there were three different shelves in the room.
Mrs. Wilson's desk was seated in the middle of the room, in front of one of the shelves. Another long bench was on the other side of the room, where one could relax to read any of the books. Mrs. Wilson had her laptop in front of her, and she was busily typing on it. She was wearing reading glasses, which was lying on her face, lazily. She looked up when Harold entered and stood in front of her.
"Sit down, Harold. There is something I need to talk to you about."
Harold did as told, and sat on the chair, opposite Mrs. Wilson's. "I called you because I wanted to talk to you about the night of the attempted kidnap. I got my people to investigate the matter. And just as I suspected, this thing was political." she said, as she put her laptop away.
"What? Do you have anyone you suspect might be behind this?" Harold asked, sounding interested in what Mrs. Wilson was telling him.
"At the moment, no. But, we do have a few suspects on the list. It seems most of the officials from my party do not want me as the MP for this constituency. They don't actually agree with me going to the primaries unopposed."
Harold sighed heavily. "So, what happens now? What do we do?"
"That is why I need you to keep a close eye on my daughter. I know she is not home at the moment, because she told me she wanted to have a girls day out with Elena. But I need you to keep your eyes on her, whether you are with her or not. Can you do that?"
Harold clenched his teeth and had this serious look on his face. "I told you some days ago that I will protect Denise with my life and that is what I plan on doing. I won't let anything happen to her. I promise you that."
Mrs. Wilson sighed in relief and smiled at the young man. "Thank you so much. I will reward you for this. Thank you."
Harold nodded and had a small smile on his face. "I know, ma'am. Is there anything else you would like me to help you with?"
Mrs. Wilson shook her head. "You can go now. If I need you, I will let you know. Thanks once again."
Harold walked out of the library and headed out. Now that he knew why Denise was attacked, he made it his goal to protect her no matter what. But for now, he just wanted to have some time to himself so he went to the place he knew he could get some air. The garden.
Denise and Elena sat in the restaurant, talking and laughing. They had ordered some drinks, which was sitting on the table. "That was hilarious, Elena. You mean, the man just stared at you till he hit the pole?"
"Sis, the guy just kept looking till he hit the light pole before he was out of the trance he was in. It was so funny. Next time, he won't stare too much. Anyway, how are things with you and Harold?"
"Well, we are back to being friends, if that is what you mean," Denise replied.
"Oh, come on, you know that's not what I mean? By the way, have you heard from his mother? I remember you said something about giving your card to her," Elena enquired.
"Yeah, I did. I called her yesterday and arranged her meeting with her. But, I am scared Harry will be offended if he hears about it. I just want to be able to bring mother and son together, you know. I don't want them to continue hating each other."
"Well, I don't think Harold's mother hates him though. I think it's a great thing you are doing for him. I know he will be offended, but, this is for his own good. And I know if everything goes well, he will be happy you brought him back together with his mother." Elena assures her.
"I hope you are right. I will be meeting up with her later today. I did not tell mother nor Harold though, because if I did, Harold would kill me."
"I really hope everything goes well. I also want Harold to get together with his mother."
Denise nodded slowly. The girls were so busy with what they were talking about that, they did not see Alvin approaching them.
"Hello girls," both girls whipped their heads so fast to the direction. Denise was so angry when she saw who it was and got up.
"What are you doing here, Alvin? Are you stalking me now?"
"Come on, Denise. Why would I be stalking you? I just got here and saw you girls that's why I approached you. I just wanted to say hi," Alvin smiled innocently at her.
"Now that you have said your hi, please leave," Denise said and sat down.
"Oh come on, don't be mean to me. Remember, you and I still have to talk."
"You and I have nothing to talk about. How many times do I have to tell you that? Aren't you satisfied with Karen?" Denise said, sarcastically.
"At least give me a chance and listen to me, please."
"Go away, Alvin. I don't want to talk to you. Go away before I embarrass you further." Denise warned.
"Okay, I will go. But, I will not stop till you and I finally settle our differences." he left the girls alone.
"Wow. Girl, why didn't you just listen to him?"
"I don't have anything to say to him. He is so annoying. Listen, girl, let's continue with what we were saying and forget about him.
Elena just shrugged and started sipping on her drink.
